  1. Yeah, I coated them in grease rather than waxoyl but thanks.
  2. Is it the plastic warning flag which pops up when the seat is unlocked? The one on mine was rattling; a small piece of felt glued behind it sorted it.
  3. Right, I didn’t look. One thing to remember is that these sound measurements are for the roar generated at the kerbside, not inside the car, so these shouldn’t be used as an expectation of the noise level transmitted into the cabin.
  4. Here you go and here too...
  5. Yes, it has a DPF. You won't need to do anything to keep the DPF clean as such however, it would be a good idea to give the car a good run every couple of weeks to keep the battery topped-up. For the last two years of ownership, I used to drive 2.5 miles to and from work on local roads, so 10 miles a day in a 2011 Superb CR170 and I never had the warning light come on. Given this, and the fact that you have a dual carriageway section in your journeys and that the latest gen of diesels are even more efficient, so the likelihood of you having an issue would be negligible.
  6. Oh yeah... I forgot about the Sportline line!
  7. For the sake of world peace and sanity, I sincerely hope not. The irony is Trump has completely ignored the fact that back in the early 00's, it was major US corporations who jumped and lead the world at saving billions, by moving their component/full product manufacturing out of the continental USA / Europe, across to where was it now..... oh yeah.... China and to outsource their IT support and dev to India, And if he bars Chinese businesses from operating on the Dow as he's threatened to do, then trillions of dollars will move from there to London, Frankfurt or HK. Hey... Brainless... go right ahead I say... fill yer boots!
  8. The 280/272 is not a fleet vehicle. There are just 836 280’s / 272’s across SE L Exec and L&K types in the U.K. today and I’d hazard a guess that 95% of those have been bought outright or PCP’d by individuals, most of whom almost certainly DO care.
  9. I agree, that really is ridiculous. Exactly... we all know it’s China causing global increases in C02, with their man-made viruses, 5G radiation and controlling the sun....
  10. Interesting. Maybe the deletion of the valve unit has something to do with the introduction of the GPF on the 272?
  11. Well... that’s a matter of opinion. To me the, 272/280 is about being a Q, or Stealth car, not a “look what I got” car. But each to their own.
  12. Good grief... they’ve taken the grill styling cues from a ‘53 Buick!
  13. Get 'em to fix those rattles?
  14. ^^^^ The ones on our 2016 MKIII has a rubber ball too?
  15. LV didn’t increase the premium for a remap/chip when I used them this month. I moved from Esure who added £60 IIRC.
  16. ^^ What he said however, even the very best painters can make mistakes. Also, the insurer should just send a mobile assessor; they don't need to take your car away for assessment, especially when it’s light damage such as yours.
  17. ... and for your insurance premiums to rise next year, thanks to another idiot driver. When the car is repaired, make sure they fully blend the colour into the other panels; insurers have been instructing body shops to stop blending on newer vehicles to save money and these metallics are really difficult to match. Also when it’s complete, if possible ensure you view it in direct sunlight and from multiple angles too as this will show up any shading irregularities. Did the police say they were going to charge the other party with DWDCA?
  18. Ouch. How did they hit you on the Near side?
  19. I’ve just copied all three to a USB 3 stick.
  20. Thanks @MartiniB I’d also downloaded the Skoda version and oddly, that’s dated May 20! Ahh right, so not too bad then. Fingers crossed USB is a bit faster. EDIT - so 30m less than SD? So what’s the SD time? 😳
  21. This is great, thank you. I notice that the date on the MIB files is the 19-12-19; is this correct? Also, can you give me an estimate how long should it take to update a 2016 Columbus via USB?
  22. There is a definite “knack” to using the pedal. Move your foot too slow and it doesn’t work. Don’t get your foot in quite the right place and it doesn’t work. I find it has to be directly beneath the boot badge and your foot as to quickly travel under the bumper and back out. Now, I tried opening it today and it didn’t work... again and again I tried.... but I then realised I wasn’t quite in the right place so I moved my foot over about 2cm and up it popped.
  23. With that low annual mileage, which'll be a bit like mine, just get an L&K 280! Seriously, what you haven't said is your total budget, after the sale of the Octy?
  24. Yeah, Renault as you say, albeit others do the same but you’re right; it’s not a hassle just to touch the handle but it’d be nice to have the option. There’s the “slam the bloody door” locking that can be set up in VCDS - is that the one you’re thinking about?
