Hi - ordered my Elegance with the Bolero headunit. Is MDI standard with this ? If so, where is the socket ? Had a look in the dealer's demo - could find a socket in the Jumbo box, but thought this was just the 3.5 mm jack ?)

Yup. Bloke at work was telling me he was involved doing some deep maintenance on a vc10 RAF Tanker. They'd drained all the fuel out, as the last bloke stepped off the aircraft, it slowly reared up and sat on its bum. They'd forgotten to drain the fin - oooops. Bristol then ? (but looks more RAF than commercial ?) st athan ?

I think the comparison to the Disco is appropriate. They break down a lot also. I had a Freelander diesel on hire - blew its headgasket within 2 hours. Might have gone for one over the Yeti apart from that. Surveys have shown that over 85% of Land Rover products are still on the road. The other 15% have actually made it home under their own power....

Been and ordered mine today - 1.2 tsi Elegance - 2wd - metallic silver, sunroof, spare tyre (like its owner...), and TPMS. Expected mid-Jan.

I binned the brochure for the golf GT I cancelled today. Was going for a GT, so not a basic model. IIRC - Bolero equiv stereo upgrade - £350. Climate upgrade £250. Convenience pack (trick lights, dimming interior mirror) £200. Xenons and leather would be c£3k. All standard on Elegance.

Glad to hear you like it better than the Golf ! I've just cancelled my company car order of a Golf 6 GT TDi - taking the cash and buying a Yeti instead.

very smart - what specification / colour is that ? What alloys are they ? Ah... "TDI 140 4x4 Elegance Aqua Blue" Presume those are the optional alloys ?

Personally I prefer the exterior looks of the Tiguan, but the interior (and price...) of the Yeti. The dash of the Tiguan looks like it's been lifted straight from the golf plus, and climate doesnt make an entrance until high up on the spec lists.

I know Drive The Deal are doing approx £2k off. Are dealers discounting yet ? Any in the North West ?

I test drove a 140hp diesel 4x4 at the weekend, and it certainly didn't feel 10 secs to 60 quick. Didn't feel particularly fast out on the open road either - not as quick as my old 140hp touran (although that came in one large slug, so perhaps felt quicker ?)

Can someone clarify ? Does the Elegance come with ESP as standard ? (I'm looking at a 2wd version). I thought it was, but Park Assist is listed "+ ESP" ?
