  1. Hi all

I’m getting a fault, losing pressure between turbo and intercooler.

there’s a pipe that runs up the back of the engine with a metal collar moulded into the pipe, this connects a rubber pipe to a metal pipe by slotting inside the metal pipe which I think comes from the turbo. It has an O ring seal and a wire cir clip type locking device.

I’m pretty sure this connection is where it’s leaking.

Can anyone help with the part numbers for a replacement O ring and also possibly replacing the pipe for a new one.

Has anyone done away with this pipe completely and replace it with a silicone one or something similar.

    Any advice would be appreciated

    Thanks

  2. Oh god no, my mistake. The car is on 107k not the plugs

No idea how many miles the plugs have done. Would this make much of an issue?

The car runs fine so I presumed they would be ok

Mate had a fail on his Passat 1.8 turbo and it was the cat which needed replacing. His mileage was 113k. His was 2001 reg

I’ll have to consider the cat then thanks for the heads up

  3. Hi

    can anyone help.

Had my MOT recently with no issues apart from high emissions on tick over.

The guy said it’s supposed to be 0.2 and it was up in the 6-7 range.

On reving the car they did come down considerably but as soon as it went back to tick over it went straight back up to 6-7.

Everything is standard apart from a map and stainless exhaust.

    Any advice would be appreciated

    thanks

  4. The center part is broken but still have it

Not sure its worth the postage if its broken, does it have the 2 arms with it? How much are you wanting for it, I could possibly get a replacement for the centre part, all depends what you want for it

  5. Are the door cards difficult to take off and put back on?? Thanks for the advice, you might be right, I,ve been meaning to take it off as I have an issue with the drivers door not locking off the key fob, and the mirror not working, I was told its a connector at the bottom of the window that gets water in, not sure what I,m looking for but I need to have a look, I,ve just been putting it off lol

  6. I know a few people have the same problem, I can see where mine is leaking in but I just don,t know what the problem is, membrane or door rubber.

When I open my drivers door, the door rubber along the bottom sill is all wet with a small puddle, and I can see a water mark from the rubber puddle coming in and going down the plastic to the drivers floor.

Can anyone tell me if its membrane or rubber without me removing the door card for nothing if its the door rubber.

I can say I,m 98% sure the door card has never been off as I bought the car off a friend of mine and I,m pretty sure the card will never have been off, I,ve had the car for 6 years without this issue up to now

    Cheers guys

  7. I have the same problem, I have been told by people on here its a common problem, there is a block connector at the bottom of the window, inside the door, its a design fault apparently, water runs down the window and straight into the block connector, basically you have to remove the door card and replace or cut out the block connector, its supposed to be a pig of a job thats why I,ve not done mine yet but its coming as now I have a pool in my drivers foot well grrrrrrrr

    Agreed, Bloody Red cars.

    Hope this helps
