  1. ^^^^^ totally agree, I remember the Rally of Great Britain as a kid.
  2. Not a great deal more to add to this thread other than to say I agree with all the above. Would I buy another Skoda? Well the car is good when it doesn't have problems, but the customer service in solving problems has not been very good IMHO. Maybe because I bought the car elsewhere and the local dealers aren't interested in dealing with the warranty - who knows. As it is I am waiting for customer services to phone me so we will see. :yinyan:
  3. The advice is sound and worth pursuing if you can be asked with the hassle. Also, as stated above it would be a test case for others who may follow.
  4. Sorry to hear the outcome, unfortunately it's what you expect of corporate business's these days. An S3 engine - Ummm! :bouncer:

Yep, that's what I got today, bang & shudder etc. Phew I thought something was wrong, next time traction control goes off. :drive1:

What should you feel/hear from the car when it comes in?
  7. Perhaps you could ask if this was one of their reasons for changing the warranty from unlimited mileage to 60,000 miles :sqwink: If moddying it was the cause then fine but to not investigate and dismiss out of hand that is out of order. Keep on at them and good luck.
  8. Sorry to hear your news Jon, I think Skoda should be doing something though. Why doesn't it surprise me though
  9. I always end up speaking to Mark - great name:D

    Codes

    Thank you, I couldn't find it:cheers:
  11. There was athread regarding the codes and meanings that can be accessed via the CC. Can someone point out to me where that thread is. Thanks
  12. Interesting I couldn't get the alignment checked or tracking unless I agreed to pay the dealer
  13. Well, Skoda have advised that the alignment does NOT need to be aligned and checked after changing the front subframe. As long as the steering wheel is centred and it has a test drive! So if they carry out the alignment check and do not find a problem and the tracking is out then I have to pay
  14. Interesting. It appears that I am not the only one with front tyres wearing out rather early.
  15. You will both have to let me know when you are at Lydden racing:drive1:
  16. I stopped watching after they kicked out the Cosworth Sieera's:(
  17. Thanks all, thanks LadyLoki. My nearest local dealer doesn't have the equipment but the another dealer does. It is booked in for next Wednesday to have it checked under warranty.
  18. Thanks for the replies. The subframe was replaced as the captive nut had come loose securing the lower wishbone to the subframe and could not be tightened back up. It has come loose since and was tightened that time.
  19. I had a Renault Scenic before the vRS. Excellent car for the family and comfortable, all our dealers closed down here and one of them became a Skoda dealer:D so went for a test drive and the rest is history.
  20. My vRS has now done about 6700 miles, with a new subframe and lower wishbone replaced in the first three weeks. Problem: The offside tyre is badly worn on the outside but the tread is still very deep on the remainder of the tyre. The nearside is slightly better but still worn on the outside more than elsewhere. Question: Should the tyres wear this quickly? I don't think so. Could the tracking be out causing this and could this have been doe when fitting the new subframe? If there is a possible problem should I go back to the dealer or contact customer services to ask for their advice? I do realise tyres are consumables and that I am expected to pay for them at some point but 6700 miles is a lot earlier than I thought. Other than I love the car, even have trouble keeping the wife out of it!:(
  21. Sorry, I can't make it - I'm sure you'll all have a great time.
  22. Thanks I will bear in mind if it comes loose again, hopefully not though.
  23. The nut has come loose again on the lower wishbone. This time Sherlodge managed to tighten it up without having to replace the whole subframe. Phew! And the cars still only 2 months old. Does anyone know why it would come loose again?
  24. I understand that Kent Police will be replacing their Peugeot 406's with Skoda's after testing them.
