I love it when in Eco mode, you take your foot of the excellerator, and the car starts to go faster, free wheeling, especially down hill, even just a little one. There are two as i get near my house 🏡

I just switch my lights on when i need them, I've done it for 55yrs, i dont need them on when i put the car in the garage during the summer, DRLs are bright enough at night. 😊

I've just changed the battery in mine for the second time since i got the car last October. The first one i didn't change straight away, and had to go through the hassle of linking the key to car. Whilst i was away the key battery sign came on, i had some with me, replaced it straight away, all done, no hassle.

I purchased a Roomster back in 08, then they bought the Yeti out. I was so disappointed at the time because i liked the look of the Yeti. I went and looked at one at my local Skoda, i wasn't disappointed anymore, i knew i had the best car for the job, space was the key. The Roomster is still in the family and its just passed it's MOT again with no problems. ps,, DSG is great, or is that, are great.

Not really a reply, just an observation. Last week i went away, it was a three and a half hour drive with the caravan on the back. I pulled into the site and guess what, another Scout had just pulled in infront of me, i said to the driver, if i park up next to you we can make it look like a club meeting of Octavia Scouts. 😷

Bit of a black art shocks. I do RC racing, different springs, different grades of oil, mixing the two gives you different characteristics when racing. It's the same with full size.

Hi P, were the Monroe shocks an upgrade, or just a standard replacement?

I recently purchased a scout, as it was one of the top cars recommended for towing. It had never towed anything even though it had a factory fitted towbar. I'm learning about it all the time, mainly from reading post's on here. I didn't know anything about "haldex" thought it was someone who posted in here (joke). Anyway, i got in touch with Skoda dealer where i got it from and asked if haldex oil had been changed, he said no, we only do that if we are asked too, i wouldn't have known about it, if not for this site, which is brilliant. I think the car is great, but so are none scout cars. One big draw back with the scout, you carnt buy dedicated mud flaps.

In the mode button, there is an offroad mode, press this and the electronics does the rest. But best read manual.

I can only comment on the Scout that i got last year, a 2016. I find it comfortable, even with back problems, easy to drive auto, quiet even when towing. Not had to use 4 wheel drive. I dont think i would call it an off road vehicle. I was told last year, by the Skoda dealer, that they were not making Octavia Scouts anytime soon. Thats my take. 😊

Hi, its not particularly softer suspension, but suspension that works better, Just getting better shocks can make a big difference.

Ordered the shades direct from Laitovo. Ok they do cost a little more, but i got fed up waiting, only took two weeks, even though they quoted two to four. Everything fits well, yes as i said, you do have to force the rear window in, i would like to get it out to slightly repossession it again but thats just me being picky.

Spray tint. I did my Roomster rears because they were soo red. You have to make sure you do the same amount of passes each side.

Is that common just to Octavia's M?
