Picked up my octy 1.8 4x4 for with 50k and a full service history with reciepts for sub 3k. 1 remap later and wow, great fun, cheap price and around 34mpg.

Hi Aham, I have tried locking and unlocking to no avail, on the reader it just stays as locked. do you have a link to the locks from ebay. I have a spare CCM (I am unsure of the code on it or whether it will work with my car but hopefully use that if my CCM is fubar'd) Thanks for the help so far Aham_uk

Hi guys been spending my day fixing my electrical issues with a mate and sorted all but two. My central locking still only works three doors (passenger won't work) checked all wires and all is good, had a code reader on it (bosh kts 340 code reader and error code comes up as 0534 door control unit, passenger side blocks/power failure) and the door is getting power but thinks it's locked all the time, could this be the issue stopping it from working? (also checked drivers door and no water ingress also fitted a new lock motor to the passenger door as had to smash the old one to get the door open) If this is the issue can something be re-set using vag com and does anyone have the facility and some spare time in north east (County Durham/Teeside area) Thanks Sid.

Thank you I'll get myself a new radio (awaits recommendations from people) an have a look at the wiring between the passenger door and the car. I will sculpt you an award out of faulty wiring and broken radio parts

Right guys before I commence work on the car in the coming weeks I thought i check up here for where to start... Problem 1. This one is an easy one-Central locking on only 3 doors (no passenger front). I have checked for water ingress and no signs, I have changed the motor to no avail so am guessing its an electrical wiring issue. Problem 2. Erratic heater fans, sometimes they work sometimes they dont, issue can be solved by opening the passenger door and slamming it. Problem 3. Lights behind radio go on and off, this one just started yesterday but is bloody annoying. Problem 4. If I leave my lights on and leave the car the car no longer iforms me with the tell tale 'bong', the light is also doesnt come on sometimes. Problem 5. Radio stays on when car is turned off, lights also come on around radio and wont turn off, unless I restart the car and turn off a few times. This only happens occsionaly. So far the knowledge on here has been spot on first time so who wants the prize of being the most helpful of 2011

Whilst out in the car today and after a bit of spirited driving my oil light warning popped up and began to flash, I pulled over an turned the engine off, checked oil and was fine (only changed around 1k ago) left the car for a while pondering whether to get it recovered or not and decided to re-started the engine and was greated by no light. I decided to drive again and after a few mins the light came on flashed twice then went out (stopped again and checked the oil, engine bay and under the car to no avail) I continued my journey and the light hasnt come back on. Now im home and its in the garage what should I look for as an issue, I do have some electrical gremlins such as 3 doors only working with central locking, when it decides to work, and the fans not working unless I slam the passanger door, is this another electrical issue or am I looking at something worse. Ive got a spare central convenience module, are they coded to vehincels and would i need to re-programme it or anything to get it to work wiht my car?

Good evening ladies and gents, Im having some electrical gremlins and thought some people may be able to help here. Started the car tonight and the light behind the radio keeps going on and off, all of the windows bar the drivers are are only going up and down occasionally and the central locking is only working sporadically and the climate control will not work. I deleted the code and it was fine got a week then It's popped up again. Think it's time for a new sensor.

Afternoon ladies and gents, Got a new one today, my engine management light has come up and is perplexing me somewhat. My mates code reader says the fault is showing as camshaft value exceeded, I will try and stick another code reader on and see what it says, the car seems to be running ok bar the light, any ideas? (I recently had my cambelt and water pump changed but have had the timing checked and all seems fine) Thanks
