yeah i check the oil every week the car doesnt use any, since owning the car and done over 12k i have toped it up once. 1 thing that makes me think about these DPF problems with my car is that the pervious owner only did 2.5k a year in the car. i think ill have to see what the outcome will be when i take it back to skoda.

lfc958- thanks i think i will get a Skoda tech involed, hopefully they will solve the problem for me. i have noticed my MPG never been that good as i only get 39mpg out of the car. if nothing comes from skoda i will have to speak to shark performance see what information i can get.

Last sunday my VRS desiel decied to go into limp mode with the DPF light on and the glow plus light flashing. have to get the car recovered as i was told its unsafe to drive. On monday the car was taken to Simpsons skoda in preston which they said it just needs a regen and all with be fine. Picked the car up on the tuesday and off i went, now ive done over 700miles since tuesday which has been on country lanes and motorways, until yesterday which i just drove to my girlfriends and back again about 20miles round trip. i noticed the car playing up again the revs stayed stuck at 1000rpm and the car was very jerky and felt lumpy to drive. Now i know if i keep driving it the DPF light with come on and go into limp mode again. The dealer has said its had the upgraded sensor on the car and theres nothing else for him to change. The dealer also said i should'nt be doing any short trips in the car. I getting fed up with the car now and this aint the first time ive had these issuses. Can anyone help me as im thinking about getting rid of the thing which i dont want to do. :'(

Have my car serviced by them, the team deal with me very well and tell me everything whats going on and have very good loan cars. only downside is ive had a rattle on my car ever since ive owned it and everytime it goes in they do not solve the problem, also i recently opened my botten to find pieces of sponge under my airbox and the plastic ontop of my radiator. i recently went up to look at the new fabia VRS went into thte showroom had a nice wellcome, sat in the car for about 5 mins playing with buttons etc noone didnt notice i was even there, i then walked out the showroom and went across to seat where i was dealt with.

i have a PD VRS which i see 40mpg i have never seen +45mpg even on a long run, my step mum has a a4 140bhp and she has 51mpg on the trip computer atm but like PSM says no where near as good to drive it just feel flat compaired to my VRS

mine has gone into skoda with engine managment light dpf and glow plug light flashing, the dealers said it just need a regen and it will be sorted i told him that i dont agree and making me pay £45quid to have it done even though its under warranty :S. i thought they couldnt regen if the car is in limp mode????

I have just had the same problem but all 3 lights came on at once phone skoda assist who got me a hire car and mine was taken away by the RAC.

I own a octavia VRS desiel and ever since i own it i have been having problems with the filters cloging up etc i have done over 12k in 7 months and everytime i go back to the dealer they keep saying "theres no problem mr johnson" but for the last months when i have been doing motorway miles the second i come of the motorway and drive around town the turbo goes loud and the exhaust note changes and the car starts ideling at 1k. now is this all related to the DPF? i just think the dealer trying to push it off so they dont pay out for new filters but its really really doing my head in :'(

I have the same hole your talking about, its for the detachable tow bar option.

Ive got a PD 170 and do around 20-25thousands miles a year mostly around town, mines on 17k and have suffered a few problems with my DPF where is idles at 1k to no power at all and the light coming on aswell, a short blast down the motorway sorts it all out but its very anoying and i live about 10miles away from a motorway aswell. if your only doing 11k a year i would get the petrol youve also got to think about the price of the car aswell you will get a newer VRS in a petrol than you would in desiel. as for the car i cant fault it the engine is brilliant and makes people in bms/mercs/lexus look twice when you fly past them

hmmmmm after reading these post i think theres something up with my PD 170 :S i mainly do town driving but quit alot of it and im only seeing 38mpg, when i do go on the motorway its normaly a 70mile round trip im only seeing 42mpg which is very low compered to what other people are getting. should i be worried?

sounds daft but when you go over the same bit off road are you going over a bump or anything in the road which will cause the car to move? reason im asking is i had the same problem with a focus i had and it ended up a earth strap wasnt tightened

Which is best....... Looking for a suspension kit shocks and springs for my Octavia want to lower it around 40ml but also want to try and keep the comfort, i have eibach on my Astra and they where great but they where only springs. thanks shaun.

i need a part number of the dash trim with columbus sat nav instailed into the car i need with the silver dash with climate control please, or the reg of a car with it in is this is possible, atm i have a hole at the side of my unit :'( thanks shaun

been looking through some sites trying to get around this maxidot im new to these car and i dont really know that much about the extras you can get with these car. ive got a picture of the screen between the dials on my car but just unsure if its just the trip computer or maxidot. not sure if you will be able to tell from this photo

anyone got any links to retro fittings? the bluetooth could be handy as i miss it from my last car.

hey all just thought i would say hi my names shaun im from fromby which is close to liverpool, currantly drive a octavia 2 vrs which ive only had a week, havnt be able to enjoy the full experiance of the car yet because of the weather. no pics yet due to my bluetooth not working, i have a few plans for the car in the near future. thanks for reading.
