  1. sounds very similar to what i had. I changed the fuel filter and it was fine. Good job i did as the old one had collapsed.
  2. Armrest looks good mate! They fit nicely and look good dont they!? Looking forward to seeing the lid in leather aswell.
  3. I like the round vents above the radio. Could make a nice three dial/gauge holder!
  4. 1 Auto lock/anti hijack needs to be enabled through vcds (vagcom) 2 im not 100% sure! Does it have the standard radio? If so, ebay connects2 3 Flap motor. But can try vcds and resetting the flap motor and see what happens
  5. I think the engine number can be traced by the police/dvla and matched to any recorded stolen cars as they have engine numbers and vin numbers on file. The engine number is usually part of the vin number im led to believe on vag cars.
  6. im sure its a level sensor mate. This is identical to the one in all bottles http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/vw-golf-mk4-98-04-gti-tdi-etc-vw-bora-washer-bottle-level-warning-sensor-/120845265155?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1c22f06903#ht_500wt_1202
  7. Think its more to do with "over lighting" the bulbs ie 35w to 55w so they burn brighter, so burn hotter. This is what ive been told anyway.
  8. What about shark in mansfield. Not sure how far that is from you though!
  9. Just had a reply back from them and basically, the grommets were never part of the light units. They say they would come with the original oem ballasts. Ive had a poke round ebay and etka and it seems theyre right. And it doesnt look like you can get the grommets seperately as they dont have a seperate part number from the ballasts and wiring. So, it looks like a ghetto homemade set for the win!
  10. Its more to do with the heat the different bulbs will put out.
  11. Id be careful fitting the 55w ballasts as the xenons have a marking on them stating 35w maximum. Could be fine but wouldnt want you to melt the new lights!
  12. Hmmm it seems they know nothing about these grommets. Im wondering if they were part of the original wiring to the oem ballasts?
  13. Im guessing we can choose temperature aswell ie 4300k,500k etc etc?
  14. Can those who have these lights read and reply to this thread please? Cheers http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/228388-urgent-reply-needed-from-those-with-wingmirrorman-xenons/
  15. Im in contact with them over the missing grommets for the rear covers. Has anyone actually had them with their lights or not? Matt
  16. Id be interested in a group buy too! lol
  17. Can't link a seller but get someone who is local with vcds as you can change the timing on them to prevent it happening again.
  18. Use the ballasts from the H7 kit then buy the D2S adapters then a set of D2S bulbs (4300k are the whitest/best oem match) Its the K rating of the bulbs that govern the bluey colour, the highter the K rating the bluer the light colour and the less useable the light beam on the roads. I went for 35w HID Ballasts from my old H7 HID setup 4300K D2S bulbs http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/D2S-XENON-HID-BULBS-OEM-4300K-6000K-8000K-UK-STOCK-/350446765528?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item51984145d8 2X D2S adapters http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280740338516#ht_945wt_952 Or something like this in 4300k http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HID-XENON-CONVERSION-KIT-D2S-4300K-5K-6000K-8K-10K-12K-/280640750237?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item41577e029d
  19. Not if you get a D2S HID kit no. If like others on here, and you already have a H7 HID kit then we used the ballasts but needed the adapter to go from H7 to D2S
  20. Sorted the "bung" problem out today! Got hold of an old rubber sanding block from my shed and set to work with a dremel and a jigsaw! The results please me!! Haha!
  21. Can someone who has these but hasnt fitted them measure the hole in the back? I can then get some bungs sorted and link to them.
  22. The actual foam padding wears through to expose the metal frame and then puts a hole in it. You could pad it out and restitch it but itll wear through again. You can get the foam parts of the seats individually but ive only ever got the base at £40 so unsure at the cost of the back part. Id get a new foam part then stitch the seat for now and try to get a second hand cover. Alternatively get a second hand decent seat then re foam it?
  23. Like the aerial, looks good. If you painted the grill surround black it would look identical to mine! lol
