  1. yup the same. just had first service at 25000km and they changed the oil. Did visual check of different things. did 2 software updates and changed back badge 'cause of ' white worm ' problem. Thats it. Mine Yeti is 1,2 manual. After service car uses more fuel then before. I complained ,they said its like not possible ,if anything it should be lower ,we just follow factory recomendations and so on... In the city with lots of stop and go it used around 0,75l per km. Now its at 0,9l per km. I can almost see fuel gauge dropping as I drive.
  2. Same issue here. It gets really dirty. Could mudflaps improve this? I think most (if not all) muck comes from wheels or from under the car and get pulled up on a rear of a car. When I drive through water I look in the rear mirror and see rear wheels throwing water 1 meter behind. All cars that I owned that had back part straight like this had this issue. And if the paint is damaged at some place it would start to rust quickly. At least thats my experience here in Norway where besides snow in the winter we have to deal with fair amount of salt also.
  3. I been driving since september with 205/55 on 16 rims. Winter tyres. I encounter no problems with clearance what so ever. And I dont think it look so bad on the car but then 100 people 100 tastes. I think I posted pic here of 205/55 on my car. Nope, I searched no picture. Anyway the car went around 2cm down with this tyres. This is not a big deal.... Can also add that a smaller tyre = less rolling weight = less fuel used

    Who can beat us ?

Nope. But would be interesting to try. The dealer told me that Skoda arranged for testing of Yeti for dealers on this mountain. Maybe they drove here... think not. And they had testing in sommer days. Anyhow this slope is on another side of the mountain ,no way that any 4wd using tyres could come here from bottom. Around sure. Somewhere around middle station on mountain I saw a commercial for Land Rover Experince club. Maybe they play here sometimes...
  5. Well can somebody beat me and my Yeti ? Driving towards ski senter on 12.02.11 Sun and blue skies. Perfect day 09:50 in the morning. One look at the outside temperature and the perfect day dont look so perfect anymore Must say Yeti cope good with this low temp. Slightly harder clutch pedal and gir shifts but nothing else. Yea ,and on one 2-3km long downhill part with no use of acceleration pedal coolant lost his temperature almost to the bottom of gauge. Good we have heated seats. 20 min. later up on mountain +2°C. Norway have some strange weather sometimes
  6. Mine slides too. Same engine same tyres as yours. I think its cause of light weight/high car combination. I just take it slower when its slipery ,or harder and slide like crazy (must turn off esp for this).
  7. 35 here. I wish I was retired but I aint. So I have to sit at work now and waste my working time on BriSkoda. Oh well ,its friday..
  8. It was even more frozen and snowy the day before as it was standing outside 2 days in -15 -20 with lots of snow. Then the day before pic was taken a friend broke his knee in ski slope and I had to negotiate my way to middle station healt post on mountain to take him down. Its a narrow road with lots of sharp turns. Yeti took the assignment really good ,came up with no problems. Ok in one really steep part I had to drive upwards in reverse as I could not get good traction and speed to come to top normally. The guy working at healt post was amazed how I managed to drive to them with 2wd. lol. He say they use this belt vehicles and tractors for coming up and down. And a friend ,yes ,kne surgery happened this week ,now 3-6 months of recovery. Bad..... I dont have problems with ice on inside of windscreen or windows. I always have air blowing down to feet to dry the area ,also always clean my shoes from snow as much as possible. Often colect the water from footwell ,if there is a lot ,with paper or something. But I experienced next : 4 passengers in a cold car ,rearside passenger windows get misty fast ,then freeze from inside. And everybody sitting in a back is complaining about this. All the other windows are good only this 2 in a back get misty and frozen. I try to fix the back ventilation under the armrest to blow to windows as much as possible but it dont help. So now I just live with it. At the end I dont sit in the back so whatever.....(but its still annoying, lol)

    roof bars height

Updating this thread instead of opening new one. I managed to score low roof bars of brand Prorack. They have to versions ,one black like mine and one silver-aerodynamic (expensive). Went for black one as I found one cheap that has been used for demo purposes. Together with ski holder (which I kept from previous car) its still low above roof. Even my short aerial is more higher that this. So if somebody come to same problem this roof rack could be the solution.
  10. Mine is in the tray on the left side of the spare. Together with the 1ltr motor oil supplied by factory/dealer ,not sure. Anyway warning triangle is mandatory in Norway as far as I know.
  11. What make of sat nav do you own? Garmine Mobile XT on my mobile phone. Nokia maps also but I dont use it. How many sat navs are in your house? Just 1. Who uses their sat nav most? (you or your partner/spouse) Just me. Wife cant drive(or use technology for that matter) How often do you use your sat nav? In a car not often. Just when I go to some unknown place and its diffucult to find. I use it more often when going skiing to track my speed. Personal record so far is 91.1 km/h. Do you cross reference with a good old map, just to be sure? Nope Do you use it on familar routes just to keep up to date with traffic information? Nope

    Heated Screen

can heated windscreen stay on all the time? Or does it turn off when one starts driving? How is to retrofit these? I must ask the dealer.......
  13. Car userbook say that if one want to use chains one have to have 205/55 -16. So I guess its ok. I'm not gonna use chains but I see no difference. I ask also the dealer who said its ok but it might not look so nice since the tyre is smaller. I dont care for this. I guess that since 205/55 is narrower it should get better traction in snow. Also smaller fuel consumption maybe. Also 205/55 is like a common size tyre so they are cheaper then 215/60. At least here in Norway they are cheaper.
