  1. ok, thanks. I've tried IE and Firefox, clearing cache etc but can't get rid of the issue! I'll try a new user account..
  2. What exactly did you have to do Minimoke...I've had exactly the same issue and just gave up on it...
  3. Point taken but the discount comes from the retailer and not the manufacturer so it still makes no difference?
  4. Why does rotating your tyres mean you buy less from the manufacturer? Sorry I don't follow... you buy the same number of tyres but at different times depending on whether you do or don't rotate? The manufacturer doesn't gain or lose either way?
  5. From Michelin's UK website: FOR COMPLETE CONTROL, FIT YOUR NEW TYRES TO THE REAR AXLE Rear wheels are not connected to your steering wheel, which makes it extremely difficult to judge their grip while driving. We recommend that new tyres or the least worn tyres are fitted to the rear wheels to ensure: Better control in emergency braking or tight corners when the roads are slippery. Less risk of losing control of your vehicle, especially on wet surfaces Better road holding, particularly in difficult situations, whether your car is front or rear wheel drive I'm guessing they've spent a few more quid on research than I have so I tend to think their advice is probably sound....
  6. Not such a great offer if you turn out to be the second owner though? Think I'd want to get that clarified...
  7. But many people never check their tyre pressures so it could be that your Suzuki that never gives any complaint has dangerously underinflated tyres.... I'm not suggesting that you are that person but it clearly improves safety for some.
  8. Defenderben's comment isn't criticism or mockery as far as I can see??? He doesn't agree with your viewpoint but says so politely... From the dictionary: forum ˈfɔːrəm/ noun noun: forum; plural noun: forums; plural noun: fora 1. a meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged. Maybe you should lock the thread straight after posting if you don't want any opinions on what you post. Anyway, I'll bow out now...
  9. I'm not sure that someone not having the same viewpoint as you makes them a troll? We're all entitled to an opinion surely...
  10. If it was a motorway journey and you were over approx. 80mph then the lights also come on automatically.... EDIT: Or do they? Just looked in the manual and can't find any reference to this. They used to do this on my Mk2 Octy...
  11. I'm guessing the OP is trying to press above and below the volume bit rather than rolling the actual wheel or wheeling the roll....
  12. The car always has long life oil in it from new. A lot of dealerships also default to using long life oil at all services regardless of whether they are doing a fixed or variable service...
  13. Don't know then... but I'd have thought if it was on variable it would be telling you to have an Inspection Service?
  14. Sounds like it is clearly on fixed....otherwise it wouldn't be telling you to have an oil service. All variable services are referred to as Inspection Services as far as I am aware...
  15. Oil change surely means it is on Fixed Servicing? Oil change after 12 months and Inspection after 24 months??? My guess would be that the dealer has changed it to fixed during the PDI...
  16. Yes, you need to change what is being displayed by the maxi-dot. Currently you have it set for navigation prompts. You need to change it back to driving data and can then scroll between the different options....
  17. I'm not knocking the subject of the thread. Just your comment that all models other than VRS are 'run of the mill'. There are all sorts of owners on this forum. The fact that I have an L & K is irrelevant. Whether you own a 1.2 S or the most expensive model in the range with every extra going it is the model that is right for you and which your hard earned money has gone on... Anyway, point made and no offence taken...
  18. The whole point of a forum is that people discuss things and give opinions. I don't wear knickers, prefer boxers, so no issue there. I'd suggest that your posting might be a more appropriate response to your own comment. Whilst my comment might be tongue in cheek it certainly wasn't rude or abrupt unlike yours...
  19. Guess I'll have to slum it with a standard mode button on my 'run of the mill Octavia' then...
  20. or a flat hockey puck (i.e. with no groove cut into it)...
  21. Yes but the jack isn't supposed to fit around the seam on the Mk3. The Mk 3 jack is flat and lifts the seam itself. If you use a Mk 2 jack you will damage the floor panel either side of the seam when you lift....
  22. I might be wrong and I haven't had time to look in my car but...I thought the Octy 3 lifted directly on the seam and the jack doesn't have a slot in it. If you use an older jack it will lift either side of the seam which is incorrect... I'm sure someone with the exact answer will be along soon though...
  23. Is that this storm...? Looks like you were very fortunate! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-australia-30240930
