  1. cheer Cliff, arrived and waiting for me last night! great group buy as usual! Jake
  2. so who's going to be the guinea pig and buy one? :p
  3. to be fair, 1.5" isn't anywhere near as popular as taper is now, but as it's running suntour's chances are it will be 1 1/8th threadless. or at a guess, being 6 years old, threaded. stick a photo up, it'll take me a second to diagnose. I think you've got illusions of grandure a bit here chris...... a 2005 CB is just as likely to have a tapered steerer and disks as it is XTR...... my bet is on 1 1/8th threaded v-brake, but it could be threadless. PM me if you need any further advice. Jake
  4. that was exactly my reasoning for quierying it... anyone fancy being a guinea pig?! :p
  5. depends........ the stearer tube diameter you'll need to check, could be 1" or 1 1/8", they'll be threaded or threadless too. best bet, go to your LBS. Jake
  6. seems that way...... but the SMF option looks more intriguing, if they are good I'm sure more people would be running them. I'm going to begrudge spending £1k on a clutch/flywheel, it's a quarter of the value of the car after all!
  7. has anyone on here ran either of these with higher power? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SKODA-FABIA-VRS-SOLID-FLYWHEEL-CARBON-KEVLAR-CLUTCH-/280649606534?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4158052586 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SKODA-FABIA-1-9-TDI-6-SPEED-CLUTCH-KIT-SOLID-FLYWHEEL-/280663366189?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4158d71a2d be interesting to see how it'd hold up with their double priced counterparts..... Jake
  8. excellent! glad you got sorted and I could be of help Jake
  9. Bell/ Giro as far as I'm concerned. Met helmets are never as comfy and neither are anything else for me personally. My advice, having been in the cycle trade for half my life would be to try on a good range of helmet, as each make will suit your headshape differently, never buy something for your safety without first making sure it fits properly. a badly fitted helmet might aswell not be worn. as far as replacing them goes, after any crash/ drop of the helmet you should replace it. if you don't sustain either of these the helmet only has a three year safe usuage period anyway. irrespective of anything else, due to sweat and UV degrading the composition of the material rendering it useless. however, both bell and giro run a crash replacement pilicy, where you can get a subsidised replacement. any further questions you might have regarding CE of BS approvals, comfort and fit or other benefits, PM me Jake
  10. payment sent as per PM, sorry it took so long! Jake
  11. I know I'm a little late to the party, but steam names?

  12. most 15's won't clear the 288mm discs on the fabia vrs, haven't seen photo's of many with them fitted. are you on coilovers or stock suspension? Jake
  13. I'm intrigued to see it Gareth, what did you go for in the end?
  14. looks ok, but a bit samey to me, fake splits, DRL's lots of stickers. all good things when in moderation, aside from the DRL's they look silly. Jake
  15. I know the et15's will require a 3mm spacer to clear the brakes.....
  16. mine was slower tbh Jim, got bored of it rather quickly. I had a dash mounted missile switch that operated the solenoid seperately, so that it could be turned off and on. still pointless but cool, for a bit!
  17. I had one, can be fitted easily, sounds cool, but has no performance advantages. infact, I've swapped it all out for hard piping now, so it's sat on the floor doing nothing.
  18. Never triangle face.

  19. Too warm plus manflu = no sleep.

  20. got a link to the forge version? the only model I can see on their site is the standard one, with the u-bend pipe and outlets at either end, can't see one similar to the SS model. cheers! Jake
  21. Bodging the fabia to get it to Unit18 Automotive tomorrow!

  22. double post. available from ebay/ rarerims/ rimstyle/ wheel whores etc. 57.1mm is the bore of the fabia IIRC, not sure what those wheels will be!
  23. they're called spigot rings. needed! rather important.
