700 + mile tank range citigo ?
Not sure if you'll get a response from 777boeingman as they've not been on the site for over 2 years

Disappointed in the citigo
Simply that we have a bit of a noise in neutral that goes when the clutch is depressed. (and again once we drive off)

Disappointed in the citigo
When I bought my last BMW motorbike, the salesman told me that the bike had been owned by one of their regular and mature customers who had traded it in for something a little more sedate. This was true. However said owner had had it for less than a week before falling off of it and trading it in and before that it was their shop demo. The salesman had not lied, he'd just been a little economical with the truth. Back to the Citigo; my lad's (now 7 years old) has always had a clutch that rattled like the OPs and has gone from 3k miles to 50k miles no problem. I've not noticed differences in the shut lines, but I'll have a look when he returns from using it like a formula 1 car tomorrow. I still reckon that it's an utterly brilliant car and I love driving it.

Mystery object
Best one of those I've come across was a nearly-new Citroen in the 1980's where the heater fan stopped blowing. Having removed the fan, the dealer discovered a grubby ceramic mug that had clearly fallen in the top of the heater ducting at the factory and after a while had wedged the fan so it stopped. Hopefully the production line staff can take their breaks away from the cars now 🙂

Have you had the car from new? If not, is it possible that a previous owner had a different radio in there? It's not unusual for these to dislodge when the radio is taken out and if so it would fall behind the dash and down into the footwell. If it was lose behind the dash it would most likely end up in the footwell if the lower dash was disturbed, perhaps when gaining access to the heater blower resistor

Where I've seen them used before is to go over the bolt (or equivalent sticky-out thing) at the back of the radio, such that it can locate into (typically) a metal bracket affixed to the car. It allows the back of the radio to be supported when it's pushed in without the need for the installer to get their fingers round the back to do anything up

Aftermarket Head Units/Radios - Looking for inspiration
True, however when I looked at it before, in addition to the cradle at about £40, the bit in the dash came with the attached wiring loom and was about £90. There was a fair amount of cable to be disconnected/removed from the original mounting too. For me, to make it work nicely it would be good to put the Mk Ii radio in (with DAB), but that would require an antenna change too. All getting a bit complicated (too much hassle)

The only minor catch is that the facelift phone holder with built in USB is a different form factor and electrical interface to the original PID bracket. The shape of the hole in the top of the dash is the same but that's it - the bracket doesn't fit. If it did, I'd simply look to mount a phone or tablet on the docking station and use that

Newbie questions
I've not paid much attention to our Citigo as it simply works without fuss, and my lad services it once a year only really moaning about accessing the pollen filter. I wasn't aware that there was a problem with corrosion around the fuel cap. I'll have to investigate. Great... one more thing to worry about!

Superb sat nav positional accuracy issues
As an aside, I naively thought that paying for Skoda connect services would include firmware updates but no. Seems like it has the map updates but not firmware. I've not subscribed btw.

Thank you. Downloading now, but before I do it I'll see what the dealer does next

Ah, software version. I've surprised the dealer didn't do this as part of the service

Superb sat nav positional accuracy issues
There wasn't much in my inbox but it's clear now. Dealer replaced the antenna with no difference - whilst they are still dealing with it as a warranty issue, I'm not overly keen to start fiddling as I don't want to give them a reason to cut me adrift 1440?

Whereas who I've got a Skoda workshop manager. Would he do?- Superb sat nav positional accuracy issues

Oh, I might be doing the photos right... I pulled into the side of the road for the photo. I'm actually on the B road, just before (lower) than it's shown on the map Here I'm parked on the A3102, just past Marlow Way On the return journey, still on the A3102, pretty much on the dot under Wootton Note that heading both directions, it's placed me to the North(ish) of the road that I'm on- Superb sat nav positional accuracy issues
Ken, if that were the problem, wouldn't that mean that the "feature" would be common across all VAG cars with the same bead unit?- Superb sat nav positional accuracy issues
This is old established roads and not the same each time. The M5 has been there for a while.- Superb sat nav positional accuracy issues
That's worth knowing.- Superb sat nav positional accuracy issues
I've no idea if iOS devices with carplay work the same as Android does with AA. I often have this issue in wide open spaces - on the M5 for example when it's determined that I'm in a farm. so it's definitely not signal reflection issues- Superb sat nav positional accuracy issues
I don't think it does use DGPS though I could be wrong, after all I didn't realise that AA used the car's GPS system for years... 15m would likely be close enough, but in the example I gave, the position was about 50m out which is enough to get it to put the position way off to the side (or ahead, or behind) Both the car and the Garmin seem to be identifying the same number of satellites (and it's still 8+ when the location is wrong), however the Garmin handily says what the accuracy is. Not sure if there's a hidden menu on the head unit that provides that.- Superb sat nav positional accuracy issues
Yes, if you use AA purely on the phone then it doesn't use the car's GPS. However, as soon as you plug the phone into the car's USB socket such that you can use AA on the head unit, it swaps to using the car's GPS. I could fit a dash mount for the phone but that somewhat defeats the purpose of all the expensive tech in the car.- Superb sat nav positional accuracy issues
Cheers - I bought a couple of external antennas recently as my old Garmin won't work sat on the dash without them (heated windshield) but unfortunately I don't think they have Fakra connectors. Actually I'm sure they don't. Waze has now been updated to use the car antenna, so I can't use that to get round the problem. Whilst I'm tempted to discover how to get into the back of the head unit and try an external antenna, while this is still being treated as a warranty issue, I'm avoiding the temptation to fiddle. The car is out of warranty, but the problem was reported whilst it was in warranty but I don't want to give Skoda a get out. I'm not sure if the antenna on the car has all the wiring through to the head unit of if it decouples at the antenna base - i.e. if replacing the antenna does replace the cabling through the headlining or if that's likely still the original.- Sat nav positional accuracy
Just started a thread on the Superb III section which might have sat better here. The nav often determines my position to be up to about 50m away from where I actually am. Not all the time, but often enough to be annoying. Skoda have done a deep reset of the system (whatever that means) and then replaced the antenna when the first fix didn't work and it's still not right. Any thoughts? Am I alone? - Superb sat nav positional accuracy issues
