  1. Thanks both - what I expect I have is a software bug or dodgy sensor (likely the former as I've no warning lights etc) Took it out this evening and within about a mile of slow driving in town (slow, but no traffic) the temp was showing over 50C and rising. Considering that I deliberately did a couple of long climbs at lunchtime, the latter with the throttle buried in the carpet and the display happily showing 110kW and 30 something boosts (can't remember the unit but the gauge was all the way round), I can't believe that the oil temp didn't reach 50C I checked the oil level and that's fine, so it seems that turning it off and back on again has answered my question - the oil temp goes up quite quickly :-)
  2. Noting today that the water temp is almost immediately up to the magic 90C, I thought I'd have a look to see when the oil got up to a decent operating temperature. I was somewhat surprised that even at the end of my 10 mile drive home today (14C air temp), which included climbing the nice and steep Birdlip hill in Gloucestershire, the oil temp gauge on the (stop laughing) Sport display hadn't started registering.
  3. What are the 2.0 petrol and diesel like for wheelspin pulling away? I need to be quite careful starting off in my 1.4 TSi Sportline estate, especially if it's cold/wet/up hill/on a corner as I can get a fair amount of wheelspin which means the getaway isn't as quick as planned. Coming from a remapped Yeti 170 4x4 which would just grip and go, it's rather disappointing. If I was going for a larger engine than the 1.4, I would have thought getting a 4x4 variant would be a must.
  4. The plastic shapes that are part of the official spare wheel kit have "pockets" either side of the wheel. The boot floor that's part of the official spare wheel kit has "hinges" to allow the floor sides to fold up to allow access to these pockets. By opening up these flaps, the suitable depth for the bag holders is restored and harmony is reestablished. Of course this also relies upon you not having a boot full of junk or a boot liner that stops the flaps from being raised. You beat me to it!
  5. That's what I wasn't sure about - so there is fluid in there somewhere
  6. I could be wrong but I thought the Citigo power steering was electric. If it's leaking, it's leaking electrons
  7. And err... ours too. I could have sworn it was adjustable, but I've been out and looked and no!
  8. Apologies; I meant to say that all of our Skodas have had intermittent wipe with adjustable time delay.
  9. Well clearly I am insufficiently familiar with the somewhat disappointing vehicular transportation that's inflicted upon the proletariat All of our Skodas have had intermittent wipe. Even, I'm sure, our Fabia 1.2 Classic. Mind you that also had cruise control... It's our far from inexpensive MX5 that doesn't, though I'm sure the logic there would have been that adding the know would have added weight and would therefore have been the wrong thing to do
  10. Don't they both have adjustable timings (A)? Our Citigo does, though as one of our other cars doesn't I know it's not universal
  11. Not noticed that on the Citigo (may have to go for a drive to see), but my Superb goes from continuous to intermittent automagically when I'm stationary. Does your wiper stop completely or just go to intermittent? edit - just checked... If set to continuous, the wiper goes to intermittent when stopped. If set to intermittent, the wiper stops when stopped. Nothing about it in the manual though
  12. I don't get current Citigo prices. I paid £5.5k for a 2015 ex-demo SE with 3,000 miles on the clock in 2015. It seems like it might be worth more now than it was then!
  13. Other than the dimensions on the first post I don't have any schematics, though as it's basically 2 pieces of wood and some batons you can't go far wrong
  14. On the basis of a strong recommendation on here, a Kitsound MyJack https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B018G9FP4W I suspect the later myjack 2 would do the trick too https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B071J7Y52F This looks remarkably similar to the original one https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bluetooth-Receiver-Wireless-Microphone-Speakers-MeadHawk-Metal-Grey/dp/B086VZQG55 Pair it with a 90-degree adaptor so it's not sticking out and easily damaged
  15. Fair enough - I was going to suggest using something like Google maps in offline mode, so you put the maps on your phone using wifi at home and it doesn't use data when you're out and about, but that might not work or be available for you. As our citigo has the mk1 mount, I'll shut up now 🙂
  16. This might sound like a daft question, but do you have a smartphone?
  17. I'll pack a bag! I can't find a picture of a right hand drive Yeti, but here's a youtube video of a left hand drive one. It's the blue multi pin socket The RHD one is pretty much a mirror image, so the socket is on the same position but on the right. I know it's unlikely, but if there's anything plugged into it, unplug it!
  18. Ah that might be part of the problem, you need to get a better son. This is a long shot, but has anyone put an OBD2 dongle into the OBD socket under the dash? I spent ages trying to diagnose the battery drain on my Yeti and it ended up being the dongle that I'd attached to help me track down the problem...
  19. Can I suggest before anything is cut open that the connections are checked on the current plate to ensure that once the plate is taken apart it has appropriate voltages etc for whatever is intended. If it was me I'd still be looking to unclip the original wire from the radio and take it up through the dash hole and then working from there to either just use the phone holder, or set up a new wiring configuration based on something like the USB power adapter above.
  20. Ah well in that case it's not so hard... The cable to your current fitting can be disconnected from the back of the radio and pulled out. Then put in the new fitting and phone holder. You won't have USB but you'll have your phone set up as a sat nav!
  21. It requires a different wiring harness that's designed for the later radio, so to do the whole thing you need the harness (about £100) and a later radio (£?) I looked at it a while back and gave up quite quickly
  22. Right back from the depths... Having a bit of a garage clear out, I've got enough of the wood for the uprights and the carpet left if anyone else wants to build one all they'd need to add is the OSB and a couple of hours of effort. Free to collector from Gloucestershire/North Wilts
