  1. Excellent! I added them to my order (Yeti 170 Elegance) a few weeks back and there was initially some debate on this forum as to whether I had bought vapour-ware or not. I decided just to cross my fingers and wait and see! When did you place your order?
  2. Yup, the dealer even rang to confirm that they would be electrically folding after he'd amended my order. But as I was half-way up a tree at the time I didn't answer (cue Father Ted moment) and he had to leave a message so I didn't get chance to quiz him. I'm just going to wait patiently until the car arrives
  3. The two "P" buttons - Park-assist and Front-parking-sensors? What about Sonar and Missiles? Are there any Skoda buttons for those slots? Assuming the buttons are not Skoda's ...
  4. Perhaps I've paid to have them non-dimming
  5. Well, I'm now starting to wonder! I think I may just have bought auto-dimming ... I guess I'll find out in 6-7 months. Still, if they don't fold electrically at least I can have a good moan at Skoda
  6. I rang Duncan at Station Garage (from where I ordered my 170 on Sunday) and he (after talking to Skoda) confirmed that the option is now available as part of the "2012 spec". So, I've added that to my order! Thanks to "Lowen" for pointing out the working version of the Configurator - folding mirrors were high on my list of wants (makes the car a bit narrower down the local lanes!).
  7. I was looking in the "standard equipment" section, and no mention of an off-road button. That was listed (correctly) under optional equipment. It was "rough-road design" that appeared under "standard equipment" and seemed the only thing that could be vaguely related to an off-road button. Of course it's possible that they just forgot to include the off-road button in the list of standard equipment ... or maybe that URL isn't for public consumption yet and maybe they're changing the terminology? And, as TP pointed out, there are _foldable_ auto-dimming mirrors available for £60 (if you're buying the electric driver's seat). I'd like them
  8. Driving a demo 170 yesterday I found myself going from 4th to 6th when accelerating briskly through the box - there really didn't seem to be any need to use 5th in that circumstance. If I were following somebody going gently up to 60 then I probably would use 5th but, amazingly, there was hardly anybody in front of me on the demo drive! I even managed to slow to 10mph on the A24 with nobody anywhere behind or in front so I could give it a bootful and see how it went. It went very well Coming into roundabouts I found 6th to 3rd was the natural choice. The box was very slick and easy to use and there was none of the let-up-the-clutch-and-work-out-what-gear-you're-in you sometimes get with an unfamiliar car.
  9. That's how I was driving the demo 170 yesterday - it didn't feel that comfortable if I used 4th below 30mph, nor 5th below 40mph.
  10. Not for sale the Salesman told me, as he didn't think he'd be able to get another for 18 months or so! Mind you it was "just" the standard Elegance spec and I wanted a few of the optional things (RRP, Electric driver's seat, front parking sensors, spare wheel and TPM).
  11. Just tried configuring the car (Elegance 170) that I ordered yesterday ... there's no mention of the "off-road button" in the finished version, but it does include (in the standard equipment) "rough-road design". Anybody know if this is the same thing? What's a "non-smoking package"? I'm hoping they haven't removed the 12V socket at the front of the car!
  12. I contacted Station Garage and they did indeed have a 170 demo vehicle available. Went down yesterday and had a drive - enjoyed it very much, so much so that I put in an order there and then Bad news, six months minimum wait likely before I become a fully-fledged Yetian ...
  13. (OT) How much "practice" did it take before you felt it was worth going in for the test?
  14. Thinking about these myself - how are they controlled? First gear only? And then switched on/off as required?
  15. Does the passenger seat get lumbar adjustment in the Elegance?
  16. I emailed them yesterday. I've had an automated acknowlegement, but nothing futher :( I tried James and two other dealers as well, but they couldn't get one, sigh. Looks like they're rare beasties ...
  17. Gentlemen - you've just about convinced me! If only I could find a dealer with one that I could try :(
  18. Does the Yeti Elegance have a 12V socket at the front? I need somewhere to plug my TomTom into.
  19. Presumablt the Skoda warranty goes out of the window? And the insurance company gets very twitchy ... it's a shame Skoda don't offer something like this as a "Dealer fit" option!
  20. I got to sit in a Superb Elegance this afternoon. It had electrically adjustable seats for both the driver and the passenger. I dimly remember reading somewhere that the Yeti Elegance only gets electrical adjustment for the driver (the Skoda configurator has been down "for essential maintenance" every time I've tried it), and that a cost-option too. Anybody know if this is so? Are they trying to pitch the Superb a little higher than the Yeti or is there some sound technical reason for this? A fold-flat passenger seat perhaps? On the plus-side I think an Elegance Yeti, with electic driver's seat, gets a storage box under the passenger's (non-electric) seat. True?
  21. Yes, interesting that the 170 gets (marginally) better fuel economy ... maybe it's just what they measured on the day and the two are really pretty much the same
  22. That's what I was hoping somebody would say What's the 40-60 performance like? That's what's going to be most useful for overtaking on A and B-roads ...
  23. EWhurst is definitely doable for me - I've emailed them, thanks for the "heads up"
  24. Has anybody ever compared the performance of a 170 CR 2.0 to that of a 140? I'm thinking of getting a Yeti and the 170 seems like a nippy beast (compared to the 140), but I haven't been able to find any dealer who has a 170 that I could try out. One dealer did tell me that there's little difference in performance between the two cars.
