  1. KBPhoto's post in Has anyone got access to vcds in West Midlands? was marked as the answer
Depends where a outs in the West Midlands.
I'm in Bromyard. Might be in Worcester on Monday.
  2. KBPhoto's post in Meta System behind Sunglasses holder? was marked as the answer
Interior motion sensor (linked to the alarm).
  3. KBPhoto's post in VW shark fin aerial - part # required was marked as the answer
That's a GSM antenna for phone reception judging by the purple FAKRA connector. While it can be swapped to the green 'neutral' connector, or even a white FM one, but it will make no difference to the ability to receive standard FM/AM radio signals.

The Polo has its aerials in the rear windscreen.

AFAIK VAG do not do a shark fin for radio reception unless you want GSM and/or GPS and/or Webasto.

This is about as close as you can get (FM, GPS & GSM) with a stubby aerial (not as short as the Polo one I believe).

If you want a shark fin with GSM and GPS I have one in my garage - p/n: 3C0035507A

Edit: I think it might go on eBay judging by the prices they seem to be advertised for on there!!!
  4. KBPhoto's post in Roomster Swing radio codes was marked as the answer
The car remembers the code so putting the Swing back in will be OK.
I'm led to believe that it will remember up to three codes at a time, but I've never had that many stored.
  5. KBPhoto's post in Columbus FW upgrade was marked as the answer
    It won't rebrand it.
    It won't bring anything new.
And yes you should be afraid as there is a possibility of 'bricking' your Columbus for no actual gain.
If there was a worthy improvement (like gaining 7-digit postcodes on older firmware) then I'd offer my best advice.
But as there isn't, I'd say, "Leave it alone!"
  6. KBPhoto's post in Output Columbus Video Signal To Multiple Rear Video Displays? was marked as the answer
You can buy sets that include cabling from the Columbus to an RGB convertor. You'll then need specific cables to run through to your RSE.
  7. KBPhoto's post in Will Bolero upgrade need VCDS? was marked as the answer
    No.
    Straight swap.
Only the Columbus & Amundsen need additional coding with VCDS due to the navigation features.
  8. KBPhoto's post in Quick help on fuel filter part please! was marked as the answer
If it has 'UFI' on the side of the canister then there is only one type.
If not, I believe the only way to tell between the two others is to open the canister and look.

  10. KBPhoto's post in Erasing music from Hard drive on Columbus was marked as the answer
You can delete a folder at a time.
But you can't delete everything, you have to have one file left in root for some reason.
There's a 'factory reset' option, but I'm not sure exactly what that does as I'd expect it does exactly what it says.
