  1. Yes I've been rather distracted with GT-R and race car stuff. But having a mass sell off of collections and un-needed projects because my main car focus is not doing daft stuff at great cost again and again. So missed having the Yeti as it's always a great laugh. Time to sort that out. And do more track days.
  2. Yes, for some reason Brisky Racing got a bit busy and now we are looking at TCR new year. Which has meant that a track day toy fell down the list of priorities.... Anyway, yesterday we ordered the manifold and some other parts so we can start to get back on this over the winter as it's been too long and I'd love to see it out again. And shock a few supercar owners in it! I've also spoken to two people that are very respected Syvecs ECU dealers over the last week and they are happy to do the ECU work and mapping. The only issue could be the manual box life, but following discussions with a Eurpoean VAG tuner there is a way round it. Worse case we use the stronger DSG box from the Tiguan. But hopefully we can retail the manual. I'll update with some shiny parts pictures when they arrive.
  3. Right, I have gone through all my PMs, paypal payments and the thread and updated the list on post 2. Booked in: 39 Spaces left: 26 Limit: 65 Edited 20th September
  4. Once TCR takes off in the UK it'll be interesting to see how it effects other series. The BTCC is very expensive, with a huge fan base. While it's Clio Cup support series uses a far more road based car but does have the kudos of being on the TOCA package. Cost should not be that different to Clio Cup or high end Mini Championship. Given the choice of Clios, Minis or TCR it should be a no brainer if it can get the exposure and fan base. But that will take time. 350bhp TCR car with aero (effectively a slightly lower spec BTCC car) or a Clio/Mini largely based on a road car... Interesting times ahead.
  5. Not been on here as much as I would have liked, but big things happening at Brisky Racing. Next year sees the start of a new UK Championship, using the TCR regulations already active in 14 countries since it started two years ago. This is planned to fit between the Clio Cup and BTCC on a cost/car scale. We are planning a three car team, with the first already built and due for collection from Germany this month. we've gone for the VW Motorsport Golf GTI TCR car, well proven over the last year in many TCR series.
  6. I am planning to bring our brand new TCR car there for the forthcoming 2018 TCR UK Championship too if you want a nice close look at it.
  7. Sorry guys, was away and it's been full on work, TeamHARD and Brisky Racing since I got back. There are 65 spaces for November, but I can confirm over 40 left. Over the next week I will get an exact list up. Plenty of space for everyone! £100 incl garage space as always and a couple of A grade race instructors on hand.
  8. Car was great, as hoped. The train is from Dusseldorf in Germany to Vienna in Austria. Overnight service and saves 600 miles driving while you sleep.
  9. Yes the Transfagarasan Highway was amazing, preferred it to the Stelvio Pass as it's more flowing not so many long periods of harpins. The Transalpina was also a very good road and needs to be done if you are in Romania. The smaller local roads can be pretty rough though, so their new Euro Highways are the way to cover distance quickly as they are very good quality. I have to say, of all the countries we've visited I really liked Romania and would certainly go back. Poor in the countryside but the cities are vibrant, with a lot of history and very friendly. And the scenery is amazing.
  10. Knew it was you in the Citigo! Some pictures on my holiday last week with the Battalion30Five GT-R group across Europe to Romania. Got back having done 2,650 miles in 9 days. (Had to change plates part way as car was booked on Romanian tax thing using different plate by accident)
  11. Thanks, Yes you can feel the development, without the manual box the acceleration is relentless. Plus this has been built to not have silly power, but out accelerate, out brake and handle better than the Nismo which is an eye watering £150k. The track pack is about 50-60% Nismo for only 20% of the price difference. Add in the Carbon brakes (Nismo has steel still...) over 650bhp and the great feel you get with lighter discs and wheels after Litchfield's handling kit and it doesn't feel like an R35 really. It more alive and responsive. In that respect it actually feels more edgy, like one of the old school Skylines rather than the R35. To drive it feels half way between a modified R34 and a modified R35 with the best of both.
  12. New toy.... So after 20 years in business (and 9 years tuning R35 GT-Rs) Litchfield Motors decided to celebrate with 20 new modified cars with a factory equaling 3 year warranty. This encouraged me to come back to R35 ownership after 3 years in an MY10, MY11 and MY14 then a 3 year break. The idea was the right blend of usability and performance, not silly power. I chose build slot 17. LM20 no17. Seemed apt as it's a 17 reg car on the new shape MY17 GT-R platform. Here she is: The LM20s delivered so far (there are 4 slots left) have all been based on the normal GT-R. But wanting something a bit edgier I asked for the Track Edition, with an amount of work by Nismo under the skin including the hand welded Nissan bonded chassis for better handling. As Nissan UK has not sold many Track Editions (currently 3) they keep no stock, hence a three month wait... but it arrived two weeks ago at the UK port. Nissan collected it and send it straight to Litchfield Motors for the LM20 treatment. Track Edition has the following extras over the stock Nissan GT-R. Nismo welded/bonded chassis. Nismo front hubs. Wider front wings. Optional Nismo carbon boot lid. Carbon rear spoiler. Red stitched interior. Track Edition plaque. Litchfield then add the following as part of their limited run of 20 new LM20 GT-Rs. ENGINE Litchfield 102 mm exhaust system with Sports Cats Cast turbo downpipes Larger fuel injectors High flow fuel pumps Litchfield air intake kit Litchfield boost hoses Litchfield intercooler Litchfield Version 6 custom ECU calibration 4 switchable maps for fuel octane Adjustable boost levels iPhone/iPad connectivity Upgraded gearbox software SUSPENSION Litchfield/Bilstein Damptronic Custom Eibach springs and anti-roll bar BRAKES 400 mm Alcon front rotors with lightweight bells 380 mm Alcon rear rotors Upgraded brake pads front and rear Goodridge braided brake lines Litchfield silver brake calipers WHEELS Lightweight RAYS Volk Racing TE37 TYRES Michelin Pilot Sport 4 EXTERIOR Litchfield carbon front lip spoiler Litchfield carbon front grille blade Litchfield carbon rear spoiler extension Litchfield carbon rear bumper vents INTERIOR Alcantara steering wheel with red band Unique badging with internal build number plaque This leaves you with a very impressive and special car. I then added one extra thing that wasn't on the list... A full Carbon Ceramic brake kit from Alcon including new (lighter/better) calipers, which seemed fitting for the only LM20 to date to be built on the Track Edition base car. The car is amazing. Quoted performance is: POWER: 675 PS (666 bhp) TORQUE: 833 nm @ 2,100 rpm (615 lb-ft), 813 nm @ 2,500-5,100 rpm (600 lb-ft) ACCELERATION: 2.5 secs 0-60 mph, 5.7 secs 0-100 mph TOP SPEED: 203 mph Needless to say it's very, very fast. And stops amazingly quickly. But with the LM changes it also handles really well and you have more feel than in a normal R35. I am so glad I went for the Track Edition, as the base car for the LM20. It's a beast. Love the engraved wheels too. It's not a silly big power GT-R, but it's a great car and can get all the power down nearly anywhere. Exactly the point of the LM20 and why I personally would leave it as standard LM20 as possible. Blisteringly fast point to point car. And I still have my 3 year new car warranty.
  13. 17 posts on the trot without anyone bothering to reply? That's deeply impressive, for one reason or another. Early RS had a manufacturing defect in block, Ford are changing engines with no questions asked. My 16 plate broke the engine while on the Silverstone GP Circuit. It went to Ford, they looked, ordered an engine and 4 days later it was good to go. Still finding the RS the best balance of fun, practicality and all weather grip I've come across at a sensible(ish) price. More playful than any Haldex car that's for sure, even if not faster than some of them.
  14. Had to be done really when I saw that number was free!
  15. Silverstone International with the CSCC Special Saloons and Modsports series. After testing at Brands hatch some time ago and doing 1 lap in drizzle on slicks (and coming off) then 4 or 5 laps in the wet on full wets we took the R32 race car out on Sunday. Knowing I lacked any experience on slicks as never raced on them before, had minimal seat time in the car and was a bit nervous we decided to use it like a test day. So 4 boost settings, stuck it in 4 (wet map, low boost) and went out in qualifying to see how it felt. Got in 5 laps, steadily picking up the pace until an ECU safety trip stopped play half way through qualifying as I was bringing the times down, still in low boost. We were 9th out of 19 cars at this stage which I was happy with considering low boost and still bring the lap times down as I got familiar with it. A lot of time to find still as it's clearly capable. We decided to play it safe rather than risk causing damage to something so more testing then another race on the cards at some stage. Hopefully it's a sensor or ECU issue as was showing erratic oil pressure and at one stage let the car run but took away the throttle pedal.
  16. Silverstone International Race Report Sunday 28th May 2017 Not such an early start with us being last race of the day with the Fiestas, new screen strips on and the cars looked great in the pits. Four Brisky Fiestas running. We were out for qualifying just after 11am, the Pink stripy car driven by Natalie decided not to play ball and sheared off the shaft coming out of the CV joint by the hub almost immediately. Team Brisky set to work and this was quickly replaced by a new one but unfortunately not in time for qualifying which led to her doing some safety laps at lunch and was then eligible to start from the back of the race. Then on the first lap of qualifying an error by the driver of the purple car saw it slide it's rear end out coming onto the main straight and impact on the pit wall, removing most of the front of the car. Fortunately with all the safety gear used the driver was fine. The other two cars put in respectable times giving them mid grid positions three slots apart. Onto the race and a standing start. Not a favorite with new drivers, we formed up for what seemed like a long time, then off and almost immediately into a reg flag incident at the front of the grid. The waiting and then long restart caused us some overheating issues and sadly two cars were removed from the grid. After cars overheating and the pre first corner crash the grid was reducing in numbers. Dan in the orange stripy car put in a good solid drive and came 15th overall and 4th in class out of an initial class of 8 Fiestas on his first time driving at Silverstone. Our Super Touring Fiesta qualified well. Richard went out and did 5 laps putting the car on pole despite overtaking four cars on his best lap, then swapped for the Jake the 2nd driver. Two cars went quicker but Jake put in some stonking laps putting us in a safe pole position. Time then to form up and then head out for the race at 5pm. We were a little slow off the line on the start and dropped back a few places, the car alongside had the same issue. This lead to bunching up and behind a Peugeot got turned sideways by a Honda, came across the track and wiped out the back quarter of our 53 numbered Fiesta before smashing into the pit wall. The car was not fit for the restart, due to the bodywork being sharp and seriously fouling the rear wheel so it could hardly turn. We had to trim it to load the Fiesta on the truck. The Peugeot came off rather worse, hitting the pit wall head on after spinning us around and collecting a few cars. Overall not the best day for us, but certainly a learning experience. A big thank you to everyone who came along to help in the pits and with the cars, sadly we didn't get the results we deserved.
  17. She can indeed. Lack of testing didn't help. She's jumped from GT rear drive to the Clios this year and total testing time due to a late signing meant half a day in the Clio before the first race. Not ideal, considering she's never raced a front drive car before. Engine problem first race, collapsed damper 2nd race, it's now starting to go the right was indidents and getting punted off aside. Pace is there for solid top 10s with podiums in sight by end of year hopefully!
  18. Getting ready for Silvetrstone on Sunday now. We are on the International circuit which is nice as I found the National a bit simple in terms of layout last year. New Brisky screen banners going on... And as my National A license has come through due to having finished 6 races now it's time to get the beast out. Bit of last minute tweaking and we have a bit over 600bhp/tonne to the rear wheels. My Fiesta is out alongside the Brisky ones too, but in CSCC a race win sees you get a 30 second extra pit stop time penalty so we'll have to see where we end up at the finish line! Stops someone dominating like in a championship. Going to be a busy Sunday!
  19. What actually happened was another driver took a very late lunge down the inside of her into a corner before the video. Something there was no space to do which involved him getting 4 points on his race license that afternoon. This resulted in broken rear suspension which she felt approaching the next corner. Hence she headed off track on the video with a broken car and another driver didn't allow for the speed difference and had rather a big moment. The whole thing was caused by a driver not on the video that got 4 points for the incident. Shame really as it put her out of the race, at the time of impact she had gone from 13th (IIRC) to 7th and was on for her first top 10 finish now she is getting used to the car. There was damage to the rear corner of Jade's car and none to the front in the 2nd race which the video is of. Not much of a negative really. Got the logo on TV!
  20. I thought about it as had a model S at the time. But the car was let down by quality issues so I decided against it. It just can;t stand up to the wear and tear of every day life with kids like an Octavia or Yeti can. Plus it's apparently a saloon (or was at the time) which is no good for me at all.
  21. Thruxton Race Report. Saturday 22nd April. We were running all six Brisky Fiestas and mine. 7 cars on a 42 car grid at the very fast Thruxton Circuit. Was good to have all the cars there and we bagged a space in the paddock on the test day to keep us all together. Qualifying went as planned, many of the drivers have not driven at Thruxton before and in a mixed field of cars we needed some solid class positions without taking too many risks. As they were pressing on and improving someone dumped a load of oil round the track bringing qualifying to an early end. With 9 Fiestas in the class we were in 1st, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th places. For the race we were formed up in tight formation, a close grid for a standing start. Forming up the grid. The drivers got off to a good start, making up a few overall positions and getting right into the swing of it. Once the first few laps were out of the way the field spread out a bit, but the sheer volume of cars meant there were constant battles up and down the order. Great fun and exactly why we like the CSCC Tin Tops so much. Buzz in the green stripy 57 car battled with the yellow stripy 50 car, getting past round the outside before the pit stop. Then the 50 car came back once it's 2nd driver was in through the chicane. Meanwhile Kevin and Henry co driving the pink 59 car pushed hard with some impressive lap times. My race, sharing a drive with Jake went as hoped. Making sure I didn't break a drive shaft off the start I dropped from pole to 3rd, but by the 2nd corner was back in 2nd. Then before Church corner I overtook the Peugeot 306 to retake the lead. The number 9 highly tuned Corsa caught up with us and spent the next 5 laps right on my tail, which made it great fun to drive. It passed as I slowed for the pits, the timing showing an average gap per lap of 0.1 second. Jake then drove the Fiesta brilliantly, putting us back in 1st as the other cars did their pit stops after 3 more laps and pulling out a lead to the flag. Overall Brisky Racing had taken the win. As well as 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th in class. A great result for the team! A huge thanks to everyone that helped on the day. We had several people come down from the Ford and Skoda forums and it made the whole day possible. Without support crew racing just doesn't happen.
  22. I try to run the cars that are on the same day, as I like to have a day off and not spend all weekend racing. Fiesta and Evora are Sat and Elan Sunday, so doing the Saturday. Original plan was to do all weekend as Skyline was both days but now that's not racing I can have Sunday off!
  23. I know mate. It's been too long!
  24. Yes still got the Elan. Plus an Evora now too. Can't race Skyline yet as new MSA rules limits cars over 350bhp/tonne to non novices. And with 5 classified finishes I'm still a novice.
