  1. I've talked with them this morning and it's not due for my vehicle. It appears that it's chassis number dependant plus engine number. I was told it is where it was made, what factory etc. They'll gladly have it in to check but as it's not a recall for my car, they'll have to charge for the work. Appointment cancelled ,,,,,, TsvRS, how you getting on with your woes?
  2. Called them on Monday and car booked in for this Friday. They said it sounds a serious matter but can find no details of this from Skoda. I'm taking a copy of the original post on here for their reference tomorrow. Watch this space ,,,,,,
  3. Hold fire on that one, discovered Saturday afternoon that my mobile was on "Airplane" mode! Sorry for the slur Motoline.
  4. I paid via pay pal, I've got my struts and am still following this thread. Maybe it's just that Keechy, did not realise that this would be so poplar, together with the fact that the Superskoda peeps don't give a monkeys about customer service. I can appreciate the concerns here, the part I don't like is the fact that Keechy has not put his hand up and admitted that he's done his best and want's to walk away. It would be nice if he were to post here with the details of the Order so that whose without can take on the battle for him. Keechy, get your head out of the sand and reply!
  5. Made a call to Motoline Skoda in Dartford this afternoon about this. They just ain't bothered to call back despite me ringing them twice!
  6. I've just received a flyer from Motorline Skoda. MOT £39. Brake fluid change £49. Cambelt change (Octy) £359 (+ £100 to include replacement water pump). Is this a special or just Skodamail junk?
  7. That's how I put mine on in the first place, no problems whatsoever.
  8. Well, that's put the cat amongst the pigeons! Mike (nearside bracket) is equal on all sides.
  9. Is yours an offside kit? If so, I can't understand why the nearside kit has a different wing bracket!
  10. Well here we go then, assuming the width is the same (19mm), I have one side 20mm, the other measures 17mm.
  11. I am convinced the problem lies in the fixing of the ram on the front wing being too high when bolted to the existing wing mounting bolt. Somehow the mounting for the gas ram at the wing needs to be a couple of millimeters lower than the bracket allows. Have you tried reversing the wing bracket so as the shorter side is vertical?
  12. ls yours a nearside lifter then, the reason l ask is that you talk of the original strut eye. Is this the part that held the pivot point of the original strut?
  13. Could it be possible that the bonnet is bent due to the closing action against the pressure of the ram?
  14. Could this be due to the reversed "hinge bracket" ball fitting? I don't see it myself but have you tried it as shown in the vid?
  15. Okay (88); hinge bracket it is, the other is wing bracket. All; I agree, does look tidier. Are you (Mr G) having problems with "bonnet bulge" as others have reported?
  16. 88 & Mr G, is there any reason you've both opted for the bonnet ball stud to be within the bonnet bracket? The vid shows the ball outside the bracket!
  17. Can't understand what you're relating to, the wing bracket or the bonnet bracket?
  18. 88, the bracket has one side longer than the other, have you fitted the long side up? Maybe a reversal will solve the problem.
  19. Is the bracket (ball joint end) touching the bonnet then?
  20. Are you talking of the wing bracket? If so, how would this effect the bulge in the bonnet?
