  1. I said the logo had changed if you read my post - it was plain text before, now it is like a wavy line font
  2. Is AndroidAuto installed on your phone? Start AndroidAuto on the phone first and see if that helps. Make sure you are connected via Bluetooth as well. Also, is the cable you are using a charge cable or a charge+data cable - i.e if you use the same cable to connect your phone to your PC can you browse files on your phone from your PC? I had trouble with one of my cables and found out it was ony a charge cable, the data pins were not connected!
  3. You would have cared if you had got one of the last 2017MY with the smaller screen for the sake of a week or two. Happened to me on the Octavia, I got one of the last build weeks before a .5MY change and missed out on Smartgate, but they did downgrade the alloys from Anthracite to Silver, so I gained on that one! It will be well worth the wait - I'm struggling to spot differences between 2018 and 2018.5 on an identical spec vehicle - about the only thing that seems to have changed is the AirCare logo on the Climatronic and the speedo and rev counter surrounds are darker at night, which is a good thing because the illuminated numbers are clearer.
  4. No, my fist Kodiaq was one of the first 2018MY with the new 9.2" screen My second Kodiaq was built on 10th December and is a 2018.5MY See this discussion about 2018MY change that came into effect in June Pretty sure the ordering system doesn't show .5MY My order form said 2017MY for the first Kodiaq!
  5. Of course it becomes much more difficult to reject after 30 days as after that period it has to be proven to be a manufacturing defect. There is a reason you get a warranty - to cover things like this. You are right, my case is different in that there was an obvious fault - when the seat was stripped down it was identified that there was a defect in the seat frame - it wasn't rejected for a noise as such but for a manufacturing defect. If you had reported in the first 30 days then the clock would have stopped ticking until it was fixed. You could have refused to pick the car back up until the issue was addressed. If VW won't accept it is a fault then you are snookered without an Independent expert. Of all the other cases you have read about how many of them have actually resulted in a failure of a component or a vehicle breakdown, anda t what kind of age/mileage? TBH even if it is a fault you don't have grounds for rejection, but you do have grounds for it to be fixed under warranty. If you don't give them a fair chance to rectify you will struggle to reject anyway. The only reason I could reject is because parts were unavailable in a reasonable time frame, otherwise I would have had to accept a fix under warranty. What do you actually want out of this - a rejection or a repair?
  6. Available in some regions on 2018.5MY (since 11/17). Chances are it is one manual written in Chinese and then run through Google Translate for each region
  7. Rubbish. Within the first 30 days it has been made much easier. It is now easier to reject a vehicle than it ever used to be. I've quite easily rejected a Kodiaq for a rattle in the rear seat frame and picked up the new vehicle last weekend. The problem is you obviously didn't know your rights and start the rejection process after the first failed fix. Skoda made it very painless, and so did the dealership, who I stil have a good relationship with. Don't get emotional, put it all in writing, stick to the facts, escalate to the highest level at Skoda UK and the only phrase you need is 'not of satisfactory quality'.
  8. I'm thinking those tail lights will look good with a smoke grey film on them
  9. Read the online manual - it has about twice the content of the printed one http://www.skoda-auto.com/en/mini-apps/owners-manuals/pages/kodiaq.aspx
  10. I've had them before on another 4x4 many years ago and they do collect debris and rust from underneath unless you jet wash underneath them regularly
  11. Yep, no chance of seeing t in the flesh. It didn't cost me any more than the Petrol Blue one it has replaced, which I was dissapointed with TBH as it just blended in to all the black plastic. I wanted something with some contrast, my last 2 Octavias were white, the Octavia before that silver and I'm not a big fan of the beige or browns, or all the recycled Audi colours such as Business Grey. I just fancied something that would contrast with the acres of black plastic and was bright, so thought I'd chance the red. I was warned it didn't look like the configurator and was brighter, so it wasn't a surprise. I'll be fairly unique for a while I think until the Sportlines start hitting the road.
  12. It will be filthy after the daily commute, I'll give it a good clean next weekend, get the trims on and get some photos. Worse case is the Asda underground car park which has enough lighting to melt your eyes ........
  13. In storage, on 17" steels and winter tyres until the Spring then the 19" Triglavs will go back on. Borneo wheel trims turn up next week so will look better with those on.
  14. Have you heard of Google? It is amazing, if you put in MirrorLink certified apps it spits out this: https://mirrorlink.com/apps Looks like Sygic is about the only one
  15. Still silly money! I must admit they look good, but not £700 good. £300 maybe.
  16. LOL - that happened at the dealers, that's Rochdale for you!
  17. It was going dark when I got home on Friday, and hasn't stopped snowing since, so not the best photos. The colour is a lot brighter than the configurator would have you believe. If you park next to a flat Corrida red there is a considerable difference, but without the contrast you would easily think it is just red.
  18. Did quite a few miles yesterday in the big red bus with only delivery miles on the clock - had to do a few miles up farm tracks on the top of the West Pennine Moors - I just stuck it in snow mode and it felt very sure footed with the winter tyres on
  19. Much easier to just ask on a forum obviously
  20. If you know anyone who has any try cleaning the screen with CarPro Eraser - you don't get any smears then https://carpro.uk.com/products/eraser-intensive-polish-oil-remover-500ml
  21. ^^^^ This Just press the Volume up button and you will see in the top right the icon for the voice enhancement - press that and reduce it right down
  22. I had a lengthy thread running about DAB reception issues a couple of years ago in here - pretty sure I put some screenshots of how the wiring runs in that thread. There are actually 4 antennas - if you have nothing on DAB, FM and AM then they all use separate aerials - 1 for DAB, 2 for FM and 1 for AM - there are 2 each side on the estate. There is also a signal amplifier behind the C-pillar trim on each side, and if I remember correctly there is a joint in the antenna cables in the passenger footwell side trim - it isn't a single cable all the way from the rear of the HU to the aerials. N/S/R window is DAB & FM, O/S/R is AM & FM2. For reference, in the hatch the aerials are in the top 3 elements of the heated rear screen - on a really cold morning you will notice the elements that pass through the high level brake light don't heat up as they are actually aerials.
