I guess alcon is talking about an aftermarket refit killing the speakers upon call and with a mike in the sunvizor. thnp, go to another dealer and ask just to be sure. I find that Skoda dealers are varying in quality. (Mine are thankfully great). Columbus are born with bluetooth inside it's little belly, so if the can criple it, they can also uncriple it.

Great.. So they cripled the Bluetooth function in Columbus and removed the 2 mikes that sit right beside the rooflights. I guess it's a software update on columbus and probably a new roofpanel for the lights plus som rewiring of the mikes. Which equals alot of money i'm afraid.

That should be standard with the Columbus system. Haven't heard about a Superb that is born with Columbus that did not have bluetooth integration.

I think the Passat CC has Active air suspension. When set in sportsmode it lowers and set in Dynamic mode (i thinks it's called) it gets higher. It's one of the few things that skoda could not loan from pappa volkswagens toolbox I can live with that as Skoda Superb's standard suspension is great and better than most.

Yup, carpc's have been here for a while now Was just looking for an elegant solution that works along with Columbus. I saw your link for a replacement but suspect that it is not as well integrated as Columbus is with the rest of the car. The best thing would be to use Columbus videoinput but as far as i know the resolution is not that great.

Hi I think that the next big thing must be internet in the car. There you can book tickets to the next film, teater or check email and news on a bigger screen than your average iphone/Android. So... Whats the best way to get such a thing thats easy to use and look oem fit. I have the Columbus with Maxidot right now, and i do not want to change that. Any ideas would be gladly appriciated.

Hi I own a MY2011 Skoda Superb 170 TDI DSG and i feel that it is a little too economical when it selects gears. It first downshift gears at 1150 revs per min, so it is keeping it in high gears allmost up to the (torque) breaking point of the engine. The result is that it gives some kind of raddle noise from the engine as it starts protesting a little. It only happends from 1250 and below (when driving). Can the DSG D mode be adjusted so it changes gears a little faster? 30 miles pr hour in 5'th gear is not funny. :(

Columbus adhere to the KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) concept pretty well. It just does it's job, nothing more nothing less. While newer portable navigators and chineese car entertainment systems is bloated with stuff THAT I DON'T NEED and is just plain annoying while i drive.

I'm pleased and satisfied with Columbus. Takes me from point A to B reliably and comfortably, while i listen to some music. It's my swiss army knife infotainment system. I will NEVER NEVER AGAIN go back to portable navigators.

Have same problem with my Skoda Superb and Soundsystem. Have had the car since november last year and Skoda Sweden still hasn't taken a stance on wether they want to fix it or not. The worst part of it, they know about this forum and all the people in other countries that have the problem and got it fixed. Waiting one or two weeks more, and then i'll consider legal action.

Can you just buy one for the window in the back?

Why is it that the japanese is allways way ahead of us? :wonder: The only thing we can export to them is old classic furnitures and no one seems to do anything about it. We have to step up and get more advanced (FAST) so we can compete with those clever japanese.

Hi On my Columbus i can choose 3D maps as a way of viewing my route (So i have 3 different kind of views). Iv'e seen it in action on a Japanese RNS 510 and it looks amazing. Well. In sweden atleast The Jag is so far away from the Superbs price that i can't even glimpse it in the horizon. Guess Jag's cheaper in UK.

Hi I live in sweden, but went by a danish kiosk the other day and bought the danish Car Magazine "Bilexpressen" (Car Express). In there they had a combi test on medium priced combi's. The contestants were: - Skoda Superb Elegance 2.0 TDI MY2011 - VW Passat Comfortline variant 2.0 TDI MY2011 - Ford Mondeo (combi) Titanium 2.0 TDCI MY2011 - Opel Insignia sport tourer 2.0 CDTI Cosmo MY2011 The conclusion were that the Superb was a clear winner with superior size, good road handling and by far the best equipped. They also mentioned that it could stand a comparison with more luxurius cars like the Audi A6. The list ranking: 1. Skoda Superb. 2. Ford Mondeo. 3. Passat Variant. 4. Opel Insignia Sports Tourer.

Hi Slinksuperb As mentioned in other threads, the Superb does have little smaller width in the backseat. That is because the backseat is reclined more to the back to allow more room for your legs. That said, i haven't heard any complaints about space issues when i travel with 3 people in the back. It's all in the numbers and all in our heads

Mine is a MY11. So yes.. Problems still exists in the 2011 models.

Have columbus myself. Nothing beats it in usability. It's only beaten on paper (specs)

I have a nokia E52. It works splendid with the skoda. I have only had one issue with it, and that is the signal issue you mention. It looses the signal, and then comes back after a good 5 minutes time. This happends rarely.

Mine doesn't. Could it be a configuration issue?
