Replace 25mm gasket with 9mm one. Costs £2. It works and you dont get any warning lights. Thats what I've done anyway!
-
Accorsing to my TPS receipt it's 1ML805903

Well it looks like 215's are going to be the way forward in the absense of 225's and i'm not prepared to sacrifice ride quality by using a 35 profile. The only other option is 235/40/17, I suspect this would probably rub though and thats if it would even fit the tyre in the first place!
-
Will it not be best to look for cars in scrapyards with them fitted as standard? I'm sure this would be cheaper. Which cars have them as standard though?
Not too many PD160's in scrapyards one guesses?
You rarely even see them on the road!
-
They don't do 225/40 R17. You could use 215/40. I use this size on an 8J wide rim, and it sits OK.
I had no idea you couldn't get the 225's, thanks

I charge 150, but yes very possible.

Hi,
I'm currently running the said alloys on my Fabia with 205.40.R17 budget tyres (see pics and description below from when I bought them).
The tyres seem a little narrow for the wheels, leaving the tyres very vulnerable to damage. Could I could use 225.40.R17 tyres without rubbing on my current standard suspension and in the near future eibach 25mm lowering springs? Would I need spacers? Any other implications?
I know theres a few Fabia's out there with comps, so what tyres are you using?
Many thanks
Up for sale ive a set of Audi TT Comps painted in anthracite grey, They have 204/40/17 tyres fitted 500 miles ago (budgets) Removed from my fabia for standard wheels (im getting old )
Wheels are in good condition having the odd mark and 1 kerb mark. No centre caps, I found the centre cap from a mk3 golf gti wheel fitted and i used them vrs badges from ebay over the top
£375, Collection from Coventry or i can deliver but would need a postcode to quote on this

Again, not for me! VAG alloys all the way!
-
If you have yellow and blue paint then you can always mix them! Thats what the chap who i've got painting my replacement 312mm calipers has done. It looks okay, i'll have to wait until I see them done to be completely satisfied though!

On Monday it was 3 degrees C and raining heavily. My summer tyres were really bad, spinning on a perfectly smooth & clean road in 3rd and momentarily in 4th gear.
If had the money, i'd be changing to winter tyres now!

I notice the stutter on my BLT and todays job is to fix it!
A 9mm gasket as per this guideMy link cost me £2.07 from TPS.
I hope it works, i've found the stutter quite evident since having a re-map.
-
if there is a group buy, then i'm in!
-
hi, just wondering if anybody has any opinions about these people, considering a remap all opinions welcome,
http://www.black-code.co.uk/index.html
thanks, jordan
Since I got the re-map from Black Code the flat spot caused by the EGR on the BLT engine has got worse. I contacted Black Code about this and they knew nothing about it, said they would look into it...nothing, although this was less than a week ago.
Just contacted Awesome. They said it would be £300 for an EGR delete or free with one of there custom maps.
I wish i went to Awesome!!

Or these?
I got mine off ebay on Monday
Calipers, carriers, hoses & slightly worn discs off a Mk4 golf V6 4Motion, all for £100.
-
Just found this on Ebay, seems quite cheap!
Has anyone any experiance of fitting and driving with one fitted? Is it simple to fit, does it help the handling?
I'm tempted to get one!

Got my Silver Vrs about a month ago, this modding stuff is contagious looking around at everyone elses when i got it on the best fabia on briskoda thread i just couldnt resist managed to locate a set of 17" spiders about a month ago had them powdercoated black last week for £80 from a friend of a friend. Picking up my Eibach Pro Kit tonight from VRS Newbie they will go on in about a fortnight :p Widemouthed beginning of next month, then just need a tint any one got any recommendations? Avoiding putting any pictures up at the moment trying to wait for the finished article i already have the leather vrs interior so think im going to be a firm contender
Mine is coming along too!
I've also had my silver 2006 Fabia vRS about a month and cant leave ot alone, it's quite contagious! I've just had a LCR front splitter put on and although initaially sceptical, its now growing on me!
I'm very jealous of your leather interior!
Please let me know what the ride is like when youve lowered it. I'm in two minds about doing mine because the ride is already pretty firm and crashy after fitting 17" TT wheels.
Best of luck with your project!

Yes mine is the BLT engine, theres not a huge increase in performance to be honest but definately noticeable and the engine sounds a little different too.
Fuel economy is up a bit aswell.
As you say, with the BLT engine there is about 150bhp standard, so you're not getting as much extra power as you would with maping the pre BLT engine.
VRSDanny, I'm also intriegued about increasing the boost to reduce smoke? would this not reduce turbo life?
Admittedly I only noticed more smoke after filling up with V Power diesel!
-
No problems after 2500 miles!
Bit smokey though!

Today i have collected my standard Fabia vRS alloys in sparkle silver from the workshop. My alloys were slightly kerbed and bubbling rather a lot. City powder coaters have made a pretty good job (a few very small blemishes), I'm impressed, espechially for just £20 per corner!
However they did seem a little disorganised, they had no idea which alloys were mine, I had to identify them. Also I suspect they would not make a good job if you're wheels were badly damaged.
Overall I am very satisfied. I will be using them again!

Yes, they did my Fabia vRS a few weeks ago!
They seem okay!
I wish i had gonne to Jabba or Awesome and got it done on a rolling road tho!
I went for the 170bhp 310lbft map.

Ive just fitted Audi TT competition 17's in anthracite to my vRS. They look good IMHO. There were a few sets on Ebay a while back for reasonable money.
There are some pictures of TT comps in the Fabia alloys archive (though not of mine).
Oh and my origional vRS alloys are currently being refurbed by City Powder Coaters in Birmingham (only £20 per wheel!!). I'll report back on whether or not they are any good in due course!
-
There is a couple of sets on Ebay...
or
I already have 17" alloys so there should be plenty of space for the upgrade.
Thanks in anticipation!
-
Seems a bit dear. I got mine from TPS for £23.07 inv VAT.

Hi everyone!
I was just wondering if these will work on my mk1 vRS, particularly the rears?
Any thoughts?
Thanks in anticipation...
I should probably post the line too...
Leather pictures?

Has anyone got any pictures of leather re-trims. I'm going to order mine soon from Seat Surgeons, York. I cant decide what colour & style to go for. I'm thinking black around the edge & backs with grey in the centre, rather like the vRS cloth seats but with the black & grey the other way around would look good.
Heres a few examples from seat surgeons http://www.theseatsurgeons.com/metadot/index.pl?id=2320;isa=Category;op=show;sort_order=;filter=;dbfilter=;max_rows=20;sort_column=;start_row=20#gallery
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
