Brake upgrade again…Help please.
Thanks for that. I don’t want to lose the wheels, so will have to give it some thought.

Yes, Hawk HP+ pads. Very good imho.

Brake upgrade again…Help please.
I will put it on the ramp next week, remove a wheel and calliper and offer up the 4 pot and see where we are going with this. They may fit under these Wolfram Pro-Lite wheels...

Brake upgrade again…Help please.
I have the LCR callipers already. Will these fit with the existing discs? Will I need larger discs? Will I need some sort of conversion bracket to bolt the LCR four pots on? I have aftermarket 17 inch wheels at the moment with plenty of room and hope that these may fit over the LCR callipers.

Brake upgrade again…Help please.
I have been trawling through through the web looking for info on upgrading the front end brakes. Car is only used for track days. Using standard callipers, Tarox discs and Ferodo DS2500 pads at the moment which are okay but could do with more bite as pedal pressure at speed becomes excessive. I have a set of lcr 4 pot callipers to go on, nothing else. What will I need? I assume I may need a pair of adapters for the callipers and larger discs. Any suggestions, links or maybe someone has something at home they don’t need… Thanks.

Remap on a 2006 VRS?
Just noticed. Yours is a 2006? ... MK2?

Remap on a 2006 VRS?
You might as well get them to do the thermostat while they are there. It depends on what you want. My car has a larger intercooler and is mapped to 245 bhp and 310 ft lb of torque. The difference in power compared to a standard car is astounding. I use this car for Track Days of which it has done about 20 in the last two years. It is 100% reliable and it’s thrashed to within an inch of its life every time. My only advice is to have it done by a well-known independent if you are not doing work yourself. Happy to show you my car if you are ever in the Surrey area.

Stickers Compatible with Skoda Octavia
I like them. Not for all but a set would look good on my black track day vRS.

Ultimate MK1 Octavia VRS
What a spec. My track day MK1 pales by comparison. Do you know what the BHP and torque were from that car?

Rimfest !
An old set of Wolfrace wheels that I recently had refurbished on my track day car. Actually about 5kg lighter per wheel.

Quality CV joint required.
Got a top quality GKN part from Euro car parts. Fitted it today. All is good. My son got it from Euro car parts and with a bit of his discount and haggling actually got it for £45 which is a bargain.

Quality CV joint required.
I did thanks. £119 + VAT with a surcharge of £114! None in stock and possibly a delay because of Ukraine... Since spoke to Eurocar parts. Should be able to get hold of a GKN For £60! Lets see if it turns up and is the correct one...

Quality CV joint required.
I have just had the nearside outer CV joint fail at the end of a track day. The existing set up has the original 80K drive shafts and CVs. Can anyone recommend the best quality CV that I can purchase? Car is running 245BHP and 310 ftlb of torque so would rather not trust a pattern part as such. I have always used GKN on my TVR’s and never had a problem. If anyone knows a part number for the GKN item or recommend a similar quality part I would appreciate it. cheers.

Do many vRS MK1 owners do track days?
It was indeed! strangely federal’s have gone up in price and are now the price of pretty much a premium tyre! How times change.

After 4 track days. Front nearside.

Do many vRS MK1 owners do track days?
Just add. It never looks that fast when looking back on a video clip but believe me, it is far, far faster than you would ever achieve on the road. I am hitting 130 mph down the back straight and slowing to about 80 mph for the chicane. Very few corners are taken at less than 60 mph and some of my favourites at about 80 mph with quite a lot of tyre creep across the track that you cannot get the impression of when watching the clip.

Yes, stage two. Running 245 BHP and 310 torque.

Do many vRS MK1 owners do track days?
Good to know that many have been used in the past. I just thought as they are such an inexpensive good car to use both on the road and track that there would be a few more participating. I did nine track days last year and so far Five this year with the Skoda so it is getting well used. Booked up for Mallory Park and Thruxton next month.

Do many vRS MK1 owners do track days?
I appreciate that my car is a dedicated track day car but considering that the engine is standard sporting the usual intercooler, remap and exhaust modifications, It is a real pussycat to drive. On track it is driven flat out all the time and has not missed a beat. It really does seem unburstable! There are so many track days to choose from, not including airfield days that you should be able to fit something in. I use this site. https://www.trackday-hub.com/?gclid=CjwKCAjwtIaVBhBkEiwAsr7-cxiOJuP0SLzX9L3-ykdTkHebtL225ea_5cf1-kKAwkr9TEfi3OrMjRoC294QAvD_BwE From Monday:

Do many vRS MK1 owners do track days?
Asking the question as I do quite a few Track Days and have not seen one other vRS. You see the odd MK5 Golf, plenty of Clios and small hatches but Skoda‘s are absent! just wondered as I am doing Bedford Autodrome tomorrow in my MK1. these cars are so easily modified to improve handling and performance it seems strange that people don’t indulge.
