Well that is the other option to get one "custom"
I'll pm you for details

So moving on from this thread, I've done some quick research and can't find a Garrett turbo for a BLT engine, only ASZ.
BLT Seat Ibiza, Skoda Fabia and VW Polo all use the same KKK turbo.
If the above is true then it's not possible to swap ASZ internals into an BLT housing (using Garrett anyway)
It might be I have to send off my turbo and see if anyone will recondition it.
-
At least you've got it in time before its exploded I guess.
-
Hmm brand new xenon depo or brand new oem, I can't decide which ones to fit to my own carI have some headlight I could sell you.....there like brand new, £200 and there yours
Cars looking nice. I need to clean mine, still filthy from brands lol.
Think I'll go for the black tint again!

Looks like dirt etc has been hitting it to me also.
Check everything on the inlet side before the turbo,
Oil breather or catch can system possible, as said maf possibly?
-
Mines the same, I guess it's just not good having a half engaged clutch
I never checked branding but will see whichever is cheaper LUK or Sachs, I really don't mind either!
-
Only thing letting the front end down now is the headlights. I'll be giving them a full restore next week as well, then set them up properly.
Typically I sell all the good headlights I get and put the rubbish ones on my own car!

Some other reflection shots.

Gave it some love today.
Full wash, autoglym hard wax, black bumper trim for any of the... Black trims.
Wheels cleaned with custom wheel clean, sealed with alloy seal and AG tyre shine.
Exhaust has been straightend up since it's never sat perfectly straight since fitting it so that's better now, polished with Autosol inside and out
Rear door was indeed leaking from the usual place, so spent a while removing the old stuff, sealing it up and put my two self tapper screws in to pull the carrier in tight, should stop now hopefully.
Got a new coolant bottle and orderd a new black coolant cap also, will fit them soon as the cap turns up.
Also put my sticker on finally

It's a shame to hear that, those problems bar the gerbox should only cost £50 to sort out.
When I was at unit 18 with my gear box Ali did say that the amount of o2m gearboxes that he's had to send off for rebuilds last year where roughly one a week.
Yeah, just getting the time to fix little faults like them are annoying.
I don't think I'm getting the gearbox rebuilt, going to fit a new clutch and flywheel and see how it goes with that. A few people they commented on the 1st and reverse problem said it cured the fault.
I don't feel the gearbox has an issue, it's all clutch related, notchy 1st to 2nd, bite is high, struggle selecting low gears from neutral, possible clutch drag, they go away if I double clutch.

Well... A poor update if any... I should be ashamed.
- I've never washed it in a few weeks, so it's filthy.
- Every other time I start it, I get a coolant warning light on the dash.
- The throttle pedal is sticking so idle varies from 800rpm to 1800rpm.
- 1st and reverse gear are becoming a pain to select.
- despite sealing the rear door, it seems it's leaking still, looks like it's leaking from the top as the very top seal is hanging down.
Nothing to fancy or expensive but feel like I'd rather just sell up and buy a MK2 Monte.
-
Both of mine have snapped / chipped.
Doesn't bother me much but would like to replace them if the parts cheap enough?
-
Just bin the A/C.
It just gets in the way half the time! :P

i'll come if its good weather and dry!
Well I made it, was some nice cars turned up, weather stayed nice as well while I was there
-
why don't you want to get rid of the egr and cooler?
They help the engine warm up quicker is a good bonus i find, doesnt take long to get to 90, which means its better inside the car on a cold day, better MPG and emissions and i want to keep it as original as possible.
I'd rather keep everything how it should be but better...
The inlet manifold, EGR and ASV will all be getting removed and cleaned so they look like new again and a reducer EGR gasket with 9mm hole will be fitted to help keep things clean, stop the hesitation but still work as it was desigend.

So im wanting to get a hybrid soon enough, but most of them are for an ASZ engine and mines BLT. I do not want to delete the egr valve or cooler so was thinking of getting a ASZ turbo ans swapping everything over onto my BLT manifold.
Then again... i know mine is a KKK so the garrett internals will not fit on my KKK manifold. So think i would need a KKK ASZ hybrid and see if that would fit on my BLT KK manifold

yeah mate proper cool 4x4 wheels them hahaha think i want some speedline turinis
My second favourite wheel, Porsche twists first then those!
You going to simply VAG soon, weather looks like its improved.

What was the problem with the headlight switch? isnt it the same for almost every car
-
Love those brakes! Looks very good, Its refreshing to see a nice build thats not got all the usual modifications.
Somewhat contradictory but if i ever go down the FMIC route i'd be doing the exact same as yours, keep it looking as standard as possible and hidden painted black. youve got the best intercooler imo as well, fits perfectly, no hassle, no cutting, takes an hour start to finish to fit
-
I find halfords are good enough, i've gave plenty of abuse to mine with air tools and power bars.
-
Still got the Polo Dune Wheels?
-
So a price on the uprated clutch and flywheel seems to be around £550, but I can get standard OEM clutch and flywheel kit with slave cylinder etc... Everything you need for £300 so not far off half price so will be going standard.
Just need to decide on Sachs or LUK!
I've always thought Sachs but most garages and suppliers say LUK is better (some places said lifetime gaurantee on LUK flywheel!)
-
I can't decide if I had clutch drag this morning.
Had the clutch down and the car was pulling farward... Can't tell if it was rolling downhill slightly or the clutch dragging.
Might just get an uprated clutch and flywheel and hopefully that will sort it

I wouldn't mind doing a shoot sometime, obviously numbers wouldn't be as high but me and Jamie have been arranging to do one for a while and know your local as well DanCheng
That 1st & reverse problem

I've went with Sachs since it's what's currently fitted
