  1. A mate of mine fitted a DV007p to my car. He fitted it in the reverse position because he read in a few places this is meant to be better!? Have had no problems with it and it fits under the snazy plastic engine cover. Although as per post above, the noise can be a tad annoying... but you get used to it.
  2. Thanks, Ill have to try another dealer as the one I went to said they dont make the mats for a MK1 anymore.
  3. Thanks for that, but I just want the full set and am not that bothered if they say vRS or not. So long as they are a fit.
  4. As above, I'm looking to get some floor mats for my MK1 and they stock the standard mats. Cant get them here in Ireland as apparently they don't make them anymore..? Anywhos, any feed back would be appreciated. Happy Valentines day too :p
  5. +1 to the above... been wondering myself.
  6. Good stuff! Mercy indeed that no-one was injured, go ESP then!!!
  7. Hey, My MK1 vRS has it, perhaps it was an option, or the sensor that keeps an eye on it has failed?
  8. They are directional, cheers though. This is the thing. When I bought the car there was a new set of China's finest put on by the dealer... the car pulled to the left with those on. Got the new boots from a trusted supplier, tracked and fitted, and it still pulled to the left (slightly but enough to cause annoyence and probably tyre wear) so thats that unfortunatly. I had to get the car tracked on new years eve as the car was actually pulling to the left more (winter pot holes) again they said rear axel blah but all is good now. (used another tyre shop as the place I always use was closed) It is still puling slightly to the left as with the first time I got it tracked. I jacked it up that evening and checked the wheels using the 3-9/12-6 wheel shake. It wobbled a bit with the 3-9 but I just put that down to the steering movement. I am going to get it checked by a professional so as I can rule that out as the cause (or not) Thanks all for your advice though, greatly appreciated.
  9. Hmm, must check that out! Thanking you.
  10. Cheers, Ill just keep checking the tyre wear and live with it so. As for the leak, ill have that checked out.
  11. Well, a quick update. After the snow and a few potholes my tracking got worse and the pull to the left became worse. Brought it to the only place that was open, Advance Pitstop (Kwick fit type place in Ireland). They tracked it and said the same thing, the rear alignment is out..... So jacked up the car and checked the bearings ect. There was a little little bit of play when shaking the wheel at the 3&9 position, dont really know if this was just down to the steering or if there is some sort of wear (sorry bout the co*k-eyed explanations) Also visially checked the bushes and CV boots ect, as far as I can see all is well..... except I am only new to the whole DIY mechanic thang so should I just suck it up and have the car looked at by a garage? Also whilst I had my head under the car I noticed that there is a bit of oil on my gear box on the passenger side where the drive shaft comes from.. a leak??? How bad is this or does it depend on how bad the leak is? Thanks Gavin
  12. Looks great, very tasty indeed! Welcome to the site as well.
  13. *Sorry to thread jack** I thought a k03s was a k03 housing with the vains from a k04?? What else is used in a k03s hybrid. Back on topic, Jabba do turbos, http://www.jabbasport.com/store/index.php?app=gbu0&ns=catshow&ref=ihiturbocharger
  14. I have a 2005 vRS saloon. Anywhos mine was buit in 04 unfortunatly :( but not registered till may 2005. It is down on the log book (incorrectly) as a vRS Tour. Tour is the name of the mk1 Octypus' they sold in Ireland after the mkII was introduced.
  15. Thanks Ken, Ill checke the bearings and the likes at the weekend and if all is ok back I go to them! Cheers lads
  16. This is the thing, I got it tracked when I first go it. Still pulled to the left so I suspected the uneven tyre ware was at foul. Brought it to the place to get my tyres done, a place I have used on quite a few cars and trust, and it still pulls. The rear left alloy had a slight buckle in it too :( I am sorry but I do not know what the rear thrust axis is? But as I said, the gent when tracking said the rear left was out slightly and there was nothing he could do about it. Not silly, very valid, but unfortunatly checked that. Not much of a difference on the other side (when safe :p). Thanks for the replies. I have already checked presures, there is no difference....
  17. Hi all, I know there are a good few variables, most likely culpriate being the tracking but... My 0cty vRS is pulling slightly to the left. Now Im sure its not just the road camber, and it is not the tracking as I just got new boots and the tracking is spot spot on. Now Im just wondering what else could it be, and how to test if anyone knows/has the patience to type it. My thinking is that it could be a wheel bearing???? Also, whilst it was getting tracked, the rear left was out very very slightly, but nothing could be done about it.. Thoughts? Thanks, Gavin
  18. Cheers lads! Havent run her today so no scalding of my little fingures should occur. Thanks
  19. Hello, Going to be changing the temp sesor in my car (AUQ MK1 vRS). Just wondering, do I need to disconnect the battery and drain some coolant before doing so. Or is it ok to just top up what spilt? Also, if I do need to drain, where is the coolant drian plug? Bottom of the radiator? Thanks in advance.
  20. Howdy all, Names Gavin, living over in Ireland and driving a mk1 vRS Octypus. Have been scrolling through the site taking in all the info so it would have been rude not to join. Looking forward to being part of the site.
