  1. I'm fairly flexible to be honest. I'm quite happy to do a lot of the work myself but I wouldn't be confident doing the electric's or gas etc.
  2. Thanks! I like the look of that but I think it might be a bit small for us and the dogs!
  3. Hi thanks we're looking at spending around the £10000 mark and the main requirement is space for the two of us and the dogs. We're flexible on what type of vehicle as long as it suits our needs.
  4. My girlfriend and I are looking at buying a camper van as we really enjoy camping and if we get a camper we can go away all year on short breaks. The problem is neither of us know much about camper vans so I was hoping that people could give me advice on what sort of things to look for. It would only be for the two of us but we do have two large dogs (gsd and lab) who go away with us. We're not interested in the camper having things like a toilet as the places we normally go have these facilities. I have seen several converted sprinter and transit vans but I'm not sure how reliable etc these vehicles are? Any advice would be greatly received. Thanks
  5. I used mine a couple of weeks ago with a roof box when I went camping. They worked really well and were really secure, they fitted easily and weren't particularly noisey when left on without the roof box. Overall I was impressed with them and I think they are excellent value.
  6. I took my car into Garlands a couple of days ago after the airbag light came on. They booked my car in within 24 hours and were very friendly and helpful. I dropped my car off the following morning and had a call that afternoon confirming that all the work had been done. On collection they fully explained what work had been done. Overall I was very impressed and will probably use them for servicing in the future.
  7. In last weeks Autocar (28/05/14) in their new vs old section they compared a new Octavia VRS estate and a Mercedes E63 AMG estate. In their conclusion the VRS won! In their conclusion they stated: 'The Skoda has just about as much grunt as you'd ever need while being spacious and relatively cheap to run. A true all-rounder. I love my VRS, but if I could afford the running costs of a 6.2, 518bhp V8 I don't think I could resist!
  8. I called the service department this morning as the airbag light came on. The first date I was offered with a courtesy vehicle was over 3 weeks away. When I said this wasn't acceptable they suggested I just dropped my car off and they would then treat it as a breakdown and hopefully be able to look at it over the next 48 hours but no promises. I therefore called Garlands at Aldershot who booked it straight in for tomorrow. It's a shame that Colbournes couldn't have been more helpful, I've now purchased two cars from them and always previously used them for servicing. Oh and they still owe me £80 from when I purchased my new car in October when I was charged for colour maxidot, even though it included with the Columbus sat nav. I gave up chasing this in January after I didn't get anywhere.

  10. Black to match the roof.

  12. Another plus I've found with these bars is that if you have the variable boot floor they fit into the slots under the floor which are designed for the Skoda bars, which means they can be stored in the car at all times.
  13. That's incorrect, I've got both fitted in my VRS estate.
  14. So your selling items sent to you in error having made no attempt to contact or return the items to seller...........
  15. Ultimately everyone is different and want different things from their cars. I moved from a MKii VRS petrol estate to a MKiii VRS diesel estate. Do I regret it - no. In every measurable way my new car is better than my old car, if I was ordering now the only thing I would change is going back to petrol. In my opinion I have got an excellent car at a price I believe is fair. Yes Skoda's prices have gone up but so have every other manufacturers. Could you imagine paying over £31k for a Mondeo a few years ago without options as that's now the list price for a 2.2 TDCi Titanium X Sport estate Auto. Skoda are no longer the bargin they once were as they have done almost the impossible and changed their whole image, they are no longer seen as the joke they once were and are now seen as the maker of excellent family cars at responsible prices. I think the fact that people are having to wait up to 7 months says it all really, it may not please people but shows how far the brand has come over the last 10 years.
  16. Ok, sorry that makes sense I was on my phone and couldn't see what your current car is. I hope your new car arrives on time.
  17. Can I ask why your replacing your original car with exactly the same model. Was there a problem with your original car?
  18. I can't guarantee that there identical but I got mine from Lidl's for exactly the same price and there made by the same company so I suspect they are the same.
  19. Here you go I've just fitted them and they appear to fit fine. (You'll have to excuse how dirty my car is!)
  20. I got a pair of these last time they were selling them. I'll try to fit them to my car later today if possible and I'll let you know if they fit.
  21. Chevrolet's in Europe are badge engineered Daewoo's, they are part of the GM family. Lancia's are mainly Fiats underneath and badged as Chryslers in the UK.
  22. For a company pricing themselves out of the market I bet they love the fact they have up to a 7 month waiting list!
  23. In order: 1) Ford Focus RS mk1, by far the best car I've had I loved the way it handled and how much feedback it gave just inspired confidence. I always regretted selling it. 2) Lotus Elise mk2, great fun but really impractical day to day and always leaked in the rain! 3) Skoda Octavia VRS mk3, geat car probably the best all rounder and well built just not in the same league handling wise. 4) Skoda Octavia VRS mk2, as above really just not as well made or as refined. 5) Seat Leon Cupra R, good fun and surprising comfortable. 6) Range Rover L322, good car but very expensive when anything g went wrong, which it did a lot. The worst car I had was a Honda Civic type R which I regretted buying from day one, I hated having to rev the nuts off it to get any sort of performance and passengers always felt sick in it. I sold it after only 2 weeks!
