  1. Also, is your map 'switchable' via a laptop or SPS stylee device? As i am getting a new car i am keen to take it in for servicing appearing as 'standard' as possible so that my warrenty doesn't become voided. I've checked out the stance on the FMIC and dearlerships dont seem at all bother by them, remaps on the other hand, are seen as a good way of escaping warrenty repairs on pretty much anything.
  2. A quick query for Forge: Can you let me know a little more about your map as its fairly new on the scene. Anyone who frequents the forums will know Forge offers solid, quality products, but it would be good to know some figures and features - maybe including a educated guess on output with the addition of your FMIC and a PD 160 intake. Cheers for all the responses guys.
  3. Whats the tank capacity of the Fab VRS? 60L?
  4. Progressive was the other word i was looking for - Jabba have always had a rep for that with the 20VT remap, compared with the trademark REVO low-down 'punch'. Horses for courses i suppose, but given my choice again with the Leon i would have probably gone for the smoother map. I love the REVO stuff, but now i spend hours driving around in 1st/2nd/3rd every day in cities i would prefer not to have to consciously try to maintain a smooth departure from roundabouts - especially with clients in the car. Mind, if i had a Jabba map i'd probably be saying i miss the atomic 2nd gear lift and silly wheelspin when i want to go for a play on my mates private runway.
  5. Stuart, 164 bhp out of a 110 is good going - was this just a map, or was there other mods to make this figure? My mate is looking for a Leon 110 TDi map and he would be interested to hear about 110 tuning successes.
  6. Have to say - at the moment its between CC, Jabba and REVO. ANyone know anything about FORGE's map?
  7. 190 is the highest i've heard of with just a remap - or was this with FMIC and other goodies?
  8. OK - I'm coming over to the sooty side (although I am keeping the 20VT as well). I am looking at a Fabia VRS at the moment. I have a Forge FMIC for the PD 130 ordered on the Briskoda group buy, and will pick up the PD 160 intake. The next item on the agenda will be a remap. I have REVO on my current car - the 4 bar map, and although it has a lot of punch (which is great for the A roads), in town traffic in 1st and 2nd i find it a little 'jerky' and 'on off' compared to the stock map which is noticeably smoother. I actually switch back to stock if i know i will be doing a lot of town driving. This promps me to ask what TDi maps people would reccomed, not for outright power, but for driveability in everyday use. I have heard people say CC is a 'smooth' map. Good things have also been said about Jabba, Forge, Superchips and REVO's TDi stuff (things seem to go in trends). I appreciate there may not be as much a difference between TDi maps as there are petrol and 4 bar petrol maps on the 20VT but i would be interested to hear of peoples experiences. I would like to stick with a mainstream tuner, and REVO would allow me to use my current SPS as well. However - drivability is the main goal, power is a bonus. What do people think?
  9. Try a cupra! 300 miles to the tank, and it needs 97/98RON to run at its bestl due to the remap. Thats why i'm getting the VRS.
  10. Group buy wise - how are you guys doing this? which seat dealer are the parts coming from? The reason i ask is that i live 5 minutes away from one and was wondering if the postage would outweigh the discount! Mind, if 20 people went in on this a better deal may be had?
  11. OK - sorry to be a pain but new to the forum, and new to the VRS. Can somebody give me the lowdown on the benefits this bit of kit offers over the standard intake for a remapped car? Only posts that a search threw up were about fitting or where to buy. Car-wise I have ordered a Forge FMIC and a trip to REVO will be on the cards as soon as my new motor arrives and is run in a little. Thanks.
  12. Now I really am looking forward to getting the VRS - I get 290-310 to a tank, and thats
  13. This is a useful thread. It's answered many of the questions i was going to post about getting a VRS.
  14. Bless her, she didn't have to do wear that. Good girl.
  15. OK - point made! Have to say it, the quality speaks for itself. Makes the ibiza look like a pretty boy with no substance. Looking forward to owning it now.
  16. OK - been to the stealers in Kidderminster. Looked around a VRS properly and..... I'm in. As soon as my GF can sell her crappy Megane and take the Seat off me that is. So, in the next couple of months I hope to be the owner of a shiney new black VRS with cruise control and heated seats. Is the leather steering wheel worth the money?
  17. Test drive off - car sold :( Have had to rebook. bum.
  18. Just the usual hello. Not really new to the site - just finally registered. Anyone who knows me from Seatcupra.net will know i've been looking for a second car, a TDi. The playoff is between and Ibiza 160 and a Fabia VRS. Currently not liking the interia of the Ibiza, and thinking that i'll get more for my money with the VRS. Hence my increased browsing on the forum. Whatever i get there will be REVO action. Who knows, i may appear on here a Skoda owner one day very soon. Test drive booked for the VRS tomorrow. Cheers all.
