  1. No probs mate, hopefully you will be able to sort it soon.
  2. Had a very similar fault after having hybrid turbo fitted and ended up being my air filter! The black smoke and low power was due to the lack of air into the engine and over fueling causing the black smoke and low power. Might be worth a look as I really didn't expect it to be that to be honest. Worth a quick look though.
  3. I'll take the exhaust if for sale still mate, I live in brum so let us know please asap as damaged mine! Cheers
  4. I recently had a fault with my air filter trying to eat itself on a hybrid. Chucked a new one in and goes like never before! Getting a jabba one to stop this happening again though in the future.
  5. Where you based in brum mate? I'm a mechanic and also work for seat so have all vag tools at work. Could go for a spin with you and give any some advise? I'm based in Northfield if you're close at all ever. Olly
  6. Cheers for the replies, I will order myself one up. Just wanted feedback as there are loads of different brands but not with a cone that incorporates the airbox still. Cheers
  7. Has anyone any experience with the jabba filter in a box that they sell? My hybrid 150 turbo keeps trying to suck up my air filter so after something better and they look good and oem airbox used. Cheers for any feedback
  8. Hi, for the past weeks I've been noticing more and more that upto 3rd gear the car is not pulling as hard. My smoke levels are horrendous out the exhaust to. Get it into 4th and it's extremely powerfull and smoke acceptable. It has been a Smokey map all along but the low down power issues annoy me as I commute through Birmingham city center and need the low down power etc. It's running a hybrid pd150, miltek decat front mount cooler and egr delete is in the process of being fitted. Last rolling road it only made 190 bhp which I was confused about with all supporting mods, my first thoughts are possible maf/air filter issue or maybe injectors? Or most likely map needs re working. Has anyone had similar issues? Any help appreciated as I'm losing interest in the car and considering selling everyday now! Which I don't want to do really. I have not vagcom to run logs on unfortunately. Cheers Olly
  9. Most likely going to be you're dual mass flywheel. And a possible release bearing causing those issues mate. Not cheap but necessary unfortunately.
  10. Thank you for the information mate, I think I'm going to go with the hankooks as I've run. Them as a summer tyre before also and they did a good job and it's always better the devil you know! Thanks again Olly
  11. I am about to order between hankook icept winters or Yokohama. They are for my Mk1 vrs which is running high torque. They will be in 195 45 16 any help or info in either would be great. I would love the continentals but pockets can't stretch that deep atm. thanks in advance Olly
  12. Could you not get an auto electrians advice? As theyre usually mobile and would repair if viable. Only a thought to try save buying a new partial loom.
  13. Just to let people know, the car is back alive again! The fueling on the duty cycle was miles off causing the car at speed in high gear/low revs to see underboost as fuel injection cycle incorrect and car thought lack of boost etc. All pipe work/necessary parts checked and logged perfectly. So mapped sorted and car drives perfectly and much quicker too. Fixed by gareth at GHE tuning who drove to me and fixed it brilliantly, so anyone in Cornwall after a good remap go to him. Thanks for all help/advice. Olly
  14. Having a quick read on the forum, other culprit other than fuel could be faulty vacuum unit not opening waste gate up enough causing Underboost dtc, only wierd bit is if you let the car cool it will improve slighty for a short period. Wondering if anyones had anything similar?
  15. Definitely no boost pipes off, had no black smoke and no induction noise. It's popped pipes before and still allows acceleration but with terrible smoke and lack of power. It's fueling causing it but hoping nota weak pump etc. I've Managed to a specialist who's coming out tomorrow from Plymouth to help me. So hoping h. Gets it sorted soon. I will cancel celtic tuning after reading and hearing very bad reviews. Just hoping I can drive the car home!
  16. Cheers mate, hoping this guy gets it sorted tbh. As starting to make me fall out of love with the car all the money I'm spending on it atm! As after this will be around £2300 in 3 months! Thankfully my wife is forgiving of my will to waste our money on small red skodas ! Lol
  17. Long story short and mentioning no names. Company who carried out all work originally/mapped gave me car back under performing and smoking badly. I then took it somewhere else who sorted smoking and car drove much better then had rolling roaded independently to get a fair bhp/torque figure. It's still under performing for mods on the car etc. I have spoken to a vag specialist in Plymouth who's going to come look at the car monday and hopefully sort it for me, and I'm hoping I will ok to carry on with holiday!
  18. No lights at all on dash, and makes no difference when re starting car. I have a feeling it's a poor map or an issue with all work done recently. I will try unplugging maf to see if helps but suppose with have eml on dash then. If I was at home I could have it fixed easily but 280 miles away on holiday I'm screwed! Lol Thanks for the help guys.
  19. P.s fault with car is lack of power and partial limp home! Didnt explain myself well! Lol
  20. On my way driving on holiday my modified mk1 vrs has gone into limp and severely lacking power. Green flag called and under boost code stored in car. Recently had a hybrid 150 turbo etc and mapped accordingly. I am now in falmouth and keen go get the car looked at to try and get the car sorted so i can drive about safely. I have booked the car in with celtic tuning on tuesday, as i suspect its a problem with the fueling change with my remap as was recently rolling roaded and under performed and smoked the world oit. My help is anyone around falmouth with any other tuner reccomendations or views on celtic? Or anyond who could plug into my car properly to check values etc. Alot to ask but any help would be amazing. Thanks in asvance olly.
  21. Do you know if they fit over 312's mate? I am only in brum so can easily pick up :-)
  22. Where you based buddy? I'm on the phone and it wont say! How bads the buckle? Cheers olly
  23. Tech838 it should be under smf conversion section. Sometimes have to use a computer as my phone internet would'nt load full site always. I have just got to find a day to fit mine now. Glad people rate them and big improvements over dmf :-)
  24. Brilliant, thank you for the feedback. I just picked it up and got a new slave cylinder too fit also. Does the pedal feel much different compared to normal dmf. I think its a great price and a proper kit for the job. Just need to get a free day at work to fit it :-) Olly
  25. Its a full kit with smf, clutch kit and bolts included too. Only thing extra is a concentric slave cylinder which is about £30ish. So really not a bad price.
