  1. We put him in it when he was just over 10 months - he's big - but I can't quite remember what weight he was at the time. He was squashed in the maxicosi we had before and fitted well into our Kiddy Guardian Pro 2. It does indeed just sit on the seat and the belt holds it in place by looping around the front restraint cushion. He loves it! I will try and dig out the exact page on which but if you're a member and you bring up their best buys, just compare the fix and non fix versions.
  2. We've got a Kiddy seat without isofix. According to which testing the isofix was only 1% safer in their tests. It's apparently less of an issue for group 1 and up. Ours is consequently very easy to set up even in the cramped back of our Fabia. I pick up our Octavia at the weekend so will let you know if it's a problem.
  3. Mine is currently at the dealership. Ordered 5th July. Unfortunately I can't pick it up until Saturday next week but at least it's here. Was originally told it would be here by the end of Sept so not too far off.
  4. Ah I see. Yeah, there is that. Some idiot tried their best to damage my trade in value on leaving a certain hellish shopping centre in the south-east last week. Heart in mouth moment. Funnily enough I was more worried about that than being injured!
  5. Glad you managed to get a courtesy car , but did the dealer not guarantee your trade in price? Normally they discount the trade in based on what it will be worth when they think your new car will be ready and guarantee that value. Obviously this doesn't cover MOT or tax which I assume is the etc you are referring to. Just curious as the last two new cars I've bought, I've been told it's a guaranteed trade in price, hence why they discount it.Edit: obviously said guarantee is subject to the car being in the same condition etc
  6. Glad I'm not the only one! Incidentally I found my trip computer was fairly accurate too. Nothing like 10% out on my Fabia. I didn't keep it up for long but seem to remember it was only 2% out.
  7. I've always thought this about Vauxhalls generally and refer to it as the vauxhall smell. My wife thought I was mad. Never been in a vauxhall that didn't smell weird.
  8. Not sure if that's in a GL3 though. Also depends on the driving conditions. Richard, what's the situation?
  9. Mine was at Emden at the start of the week, so I should be picking it up soon. I'll let you know how I get on. With the Fabia GL2 I generally got good MPG from the start. Average on a motorway run would be in the mid to high 70s (I aim to drive at around 67mph with cruise on) and for a more mixed run, I regularly get high 60s without much effort. Normally that's all with two adults, a baby, and baby stuff. Will be sad to see it go but need something bigger. On paper the Octy GL3 is more efficient so it'll be interesting to see what happens in practice.
  10. A slight update. My bw was confirmed as 40 today. Ordered 5th July. Hoping confirmed means confirmed!
  11. Hmm, getting a but worried reading this. My bw was 37 then became 40 but the dealer keeps saying he expects that to change to 'confirmed' and it hasn't! To be honest, it's more of a pain for them as the longer it takes, the less my trade in will be worth when they sell it on. I can make do with my Fabia for a little longer if necessary, it's just all the messing around I don't like.
  12. I'm also now on b/w 40, order placed 4th July. It was originally provisionally scheduled for week 37. What's puzzled me, though, is that apparently the factory closure pushed it back, but I got the original b/w almost straight away after ordering. Why wouldn't the system factor in the factory closure in August when allocating slots? Seems a bit daft that they reschedule everything after the close, as I've been told by my dealer and as I've seen others say on here. Either way I don't really mind waiting. The only negative is a holiday around the b/w means it might now be difficult to sell my Fabia privately in time, and I hoped to get more than the PX for it. Oh well.
  13. My Fabia GL2 has a published combined figure of 83mpg and I did once get 82mpg (trip computer reading, anyway) but regularly get mid 70s which I'm happy with. If I can improve on that in a bigger car I'll be surprised, but very happy!
  14. I'm not sure there are many, yet, at least not on here. I have one on order though the build week has apparently slipped back 3 weeks so won't be seeing it until mid October at the earliest I expect. It's not been out long, especially not the estate. Also, with the standard 1.6TDI coming in at 99g/km I doubt it'll be as popular a fleet car as the MkII Greenline was unless the tax bands change.
  15. Can anyone tell me if you get an electric pump when there is no spare wheel, as well as the foam? My Fabia GL2 came with a bottle of glue and a pump (and a message saying 'good luck'). I assume the foam is to plug the hole until you can get to a garage, so I'm hoping they give you a pump to get some air back in there!
  16. I've got the hatch but mine will soon be on it's way too. Got an Octy GL3 on order. I've loved the Fabia but it's just a bit small for us now! I thought the jump in size to the Octavia might take some getting used to but the Superb!? I don't think I'd have any chance of parking it on my carppy roads anyway!
  17. I've got a GL on order and chose it for the low emissions and low fuel consumption. No car is really green but it's a conscience issue for me. Before I ordered though I'm sure I read something that said the 110PS 6 speed in the GL is from the newer incarnation of VAG diesel engines and is supposed to be more refined to drive. Sadly still waiting so I can't say for definite. I test drove a standard 105PS and thought that was decent enough, mind. On the wait question, I've been given and indicative build week that would put delivery time around 3 months, not 5 (though I'll believe it when it happens!).
  18. That's awful. Just as well you had the camera too and you could easily have taken it further! Dare I ask, if it's not making it too obvious, if this dealer is the one with a second branch further up the A2? Appreciate you don't want to name and shame publicly so, if you don't mind, could you PM me the name if that question makes it too obvious? I'd like to know who to avoid!
  19. Awesome, can't wait to see what it actually looks like but I bet you can't wait to pick it up even more!
  20. P. S. OP sorry for hijacking your thread but it seemed relevant
  21. Thanks Neily, Black sheep and Paul for your replies re the ipod functionality. I think I'll leave the mitsumi based on your comments, as streaming with the ability to flick forwards should do me fine. I find the MDI on my Fabia a bit rubbish to tell the truth, though I'm sure the new version plus a touch screen are an improvement! In the Fabia, when playing on shuffle, it tends to jump 1 second into each new track, but still preferable to using aux in due to the position of the aux socket in the Fabia!
  22. Can you control an ipod via the standard USB? I'm assuming not, but has anyone tried/does anyone know for definite? I decided against the mdi because it removes the aux-in, which is a shame. I was planning to stream my ipod via Bluetooth or use the aux-in if I can't control via USB. And since we're taking spec, I decided to go for the full parking toy. Parking is atrocious where I live so I'm sure it'll come in handy from time to time!
  23. Sounds like great fun. A great way to get your Octy running in too. I'm tempted to try a similar run next spring, assuming my GL3 is built by then :-P
