Oh the wheels in question are 16" Spiders which will be winging their way onto my Fabia in roughly 2 weeks time..

Hey everyone, I'm aiming this at the drivers of black cars. What colour alloys do you run... Just dropped a set of wheels off Ashton Powder Coatings to have a refurb, looked at their samples on line before hand and was going for the light silver which is your run of the mill colour... But after looking at them all in the flesh decided on black chrome... Now I'm home again and can't make my mind up whether to go with the original or the slightly darker colour... What do we think?...

Nearly got all the parts needed for a complete refresh of my suspension on the Fabia, just need to get the bushes and I'm ready to go, I've decided to buy the SuperPro KIT5229K. It is supplied with 20mm anti-roll bar bushes, I have checked the bar on my car and a 20mm spanner went on the bar snuggly, am I correct in thinking that the supplied 20mm bush is fine or does it need a tighter fit therefore requiring me to request the kit be supplied with a 19mm bush?

Maybe I should have worded my question differently... Is a 2006 Octavia VRS a Mk1, that is the vehicle which the calipers are coming off.

Sorry in advance but I've yet to find a definitive answer. Sourced locally a set of front and rear calipers and carriers from a 2006 Octavia VRS FSI are they compatible with my Fabia VRS or is it only the MK1 Octavia VRS, I know Golf Mk4 etc fit but I can get the full set for a £110 and they're really clean and 10 mins drive away. Wow, I have a couple of months away from the forum and come back to pages of updates. Your progress is amazing, you have spurred me on to get cracking with mine, got some kw coilovers waiting in the wings, just need 312mm brakes and new bushes. What bushes have you used to replace the originals?

I know the feeling I had a 1989 Golf GTI 16v that I owned for 8 years, it was a bit rough to begin with and it evolved into a showroom condition example! I've got a blank canvas in the vRS, so I'll take inspiration where I can, I wont be going to the lengths you have i'm too old for all that now, but still a bit of fettling can't hurt. Yours is the first Fabia i've seen rolling on BBS Split rims which are timeless classic wheels and I'm so glad you have, the work so well!

I've just spent the last 2 days reading your thread from start to finish, all I can say is wow!.. I take my hat off to you, really getting stuck in and turning out a fantastic motor.

Love the seats, much more practical. New interior is top my priorities.
