  1. Cheers tech1e. When you say you charge 160, are you in a garage or from home? Garge wnt VAT on top. :(
  2. Looking to have or fit cruise control on my 2008 vrs. Read other threads. Anybody near hereford with ideas. Dealer wants over £200.
  3. Had this happen on my previous VW touran. There were two plastic clips that the cable is held in. You can buy them off ebay or buy regulator kit from dealer. Cost me £25. Bit of a ba**ard to fit but perfect after. Sure to be similar on octavia. Hope this helps.
  4. Cheers davey g. Im 6"3', dont know if i can squeeze into something that small!! Keep us all updated as to how the car goes when you get it back. Was up in Scocland the other week for Tattoo ( excellent by the way) using plenty of the fast lane for the 600 mile round trip. Might not have been quite so keen if I had known about this problem before :wonder:
  5. Latest update. Had my injectors checked yesterday afternoon at local ( well 30mile away ) skoda dealer. Showing no faults. Rang Skoda UK this morning to inform them still not happy driving the car. They rang the dealer and now my car is booked in for 4 x injector change next week, all FOC thanks to Skoda : Result.
  6. Mine booked in with local dealer to be checked next week after a week of phonecalls. They have issued me with a case number. On their books now. Lets see what happens
  7. Thanks RustyGT Think i'll make another phone call to Skoda myself tomorrow and ask for Dan this time and lets hope for sucess like yourself.
  8. Hi lordlucan. Was this an official letter you received from Skoda Uk in answer to your problems?. I am waiting for phone call from dealer who in turn is waiting for Simon Acroyd at Skoda to contact them. Depending on their answer ( I want the injectors and loom changed on my VRS pre-emptively) can i quote your reply? Thanks
  9. Bought a Westfalia detachable for my ovtavia vrs estate and dedicated electrics from P F Jones for £321 delivered. Sure it said it fitted superb as well. Totally invisible from behind when attached. fitted myself, though did take quite a few hours. Not really difficult, just needed to take time hen removing trim etc. Followed instructions from VRS.com. Hope this helps.
  10. Spoke to him on Friday. he was a bit vaque but told me to contact my local dealer to have the car checked. So I rang them and they said they needed to ring Simon and ask for them selves. They had had a bulliten about replacing faulty injectors but were unsure as to what they should do about replacing non faulty ones. When I rang dealer at 3pm they were still waiting for phone call from Simon who promised to return call beford the end of the day (friday). Under a bit of pressure me thinks!
  11. AS it was on route to my parents caravan near Aber done alot of the roads near devils bridge and the dams. Can recommend them totally. i use to set of late in the evening on summer nights so the roads were not so busy as they can be a bit tight in places.Sold the caravan now so will have to wait before I can enjoy it again
  12. Thanks deecee. He hadnt rung today so I rang them and they said he was back in tomorrow. Pity the lady who originally told me he would ring didnt check first. Nevr mind. Still on a mission!!!
  13. I will be interested to know what injectors they are replacing them with too. Still waiting for my phone call from Simon Acroyd at Skoda UK :( . I was told he would reply within 48hrs. That runs out noon tomorrow (thurs 15th). I will be straight on the phone if I havent heard from him by then.Sorry to hear about geovadim's experience. Cant have been fun. It cant be long before a serious accident occurs, then they will have to take notice and inform everyone affected or a re-call.On a personal note I intend to hound them untill i get a satisfactory result. Interesting that VOSA have apperared on this forum telling us that they have had enough info on this problem!! In fairness my correspondance with John Fitch has been excellent so far. Will post some more info after phone call from Skoda
  14. I will check with Simon Acroyd when he rings to see what type of injectors they are replacing them with. Would be a bit pointless if they use the same make to me.Throwing good money after bad. Seemed to remember somewhere amonst this topic what type they use, but so much to look through :S Only had my car 2 months but very pleased with it so far. Second skoda i've owned, but had lots of VAG group cars before.
  15. Hi All, Having read all this topic I decided to make some more enquiries about this injector problem. I have contacted VOSA by e-mail and had a reply within hours from John Fitch stating that "following detailed negotiations between VOSA and the vehicle manufacturer,VW-Audi Group (VAG) has agreed to replace all the injectors originally fitted to these vehicles". Before I had a reply from VOSA I contacted my local dealer, Startin of Worcester,to see if they knew or had a recall about the problem. The person I spoke to said that they were unaware of any recall or problem. I informed that I had read via this forum that they had indeed carried out at least one repair to a customers car for injector failure. Still no answers.I then asked for Skoda UK CS and spoke to a lady who also seemed ignorant of any problem. It was only after I mentioned that I will be holding Skoda personally resposible if an accident occured following failure of injector and that I had been in touch with VOSA that she agreed to take more details and enquire more. When she returned I was told to register my vehicle with the local dealer and that Simon Acroyd " who dealt with matters like this" would contact me within 24hrs. I shall report after the phone call. :wonder: It seems to me that Skoda are reluctant to admit to any problem but I am determined to cause enough fuss to get my injectors etc replaced FOC as I am not prepared to drive my family around in an accident waiting to happen.
  16. Thanks for the info. Will have a trawl through internet for some prices. :p Thanks again
  17. Thanks for that . Do they only make one detachable and any idea how much you paid? Did you have to cut the bumper much? Soz for all the questions. :wonder: Used a bypass kit on the vw touran I had before, worked well.
  18. I know theer have been several discussions on towbars previously, but I am looking to buy towbar for my VRS 2008 estate. I would prefer a detachable, the towbar only needed occasionally to tow trailer. If anybody has towbar fitted to estate and can recommend make etc and picture as well, would be appreciated. There are quite a few makes to go for :wonder: but bit concerned how they look when on/off the car. Many thanks
  19. Hi all, Picking up Vrs Octavia Estate diesel 08 plate on Friday. This will be my second skoda having had a 2000 1.9tdi estate before. That was great car. I ended up with it superchiped and lowered. Was lots of fun to drive. Going to have look through forums. Used them before to find out info with help on various problems.
