  1. Hi all, Having owned my trusty 2006 Fabia 1.9 TDi since 2011, I have now taken the plunge and bought myself a 2016 Octavia 184 VRS DSG. So far I am very impressed with the car, I looked for a while and got one with good spec. Black pack plus, Full heated leather, Pano roof, Electric boot, DSG. Can anybody advise me of where I can unlock the additional VCDS features that is local to Shropshire? Once the car is out of Skoda warranty I will be looking to have a remap, it completely changed my previous fabia. Thanks again Oli
  2. Hi, Would you be willing to sell the roof bars on their own? Thanks
  3. Really enjoyed following this thread. Out of interest, how much did the body work cost to have the rust issues sorted? Mine has just started to bubble up and it's annoying me badly. My cars only on 88k and want to keep it for as long as possible! Everything else is mint
  4. Hi Gaz, I have been after one of these or a decent Mx5 for some time now! I am willing to take you up on your deal and donate substantially more to charity. Please can you send me a message, able to collect at your convenience. Many thanks Oliver
  5. I know! Worked out nicely, I owned the Fabia since it was 3 years old and know the history of it, ended up being able to buy it back! I now it isn't as flash or fast as the Type R but it's my little Fabia and she's ready for me to put some more miles on her!
  6. After parting ways with my Fabia 1.9TDi I bought an FN2 Civic Type R. Whilst I absolutely loved the car, my mileage then increased again and meant the civic was costing me far too much in fuel. So I sold the Civic and ended up buying my Fabia back!!! Looking forward to keeping up to date and reading what's gone on whilst I've been away from Skoda!
  7. It made me so angry to think someone could drive so recklessly to put my life at risk for no clear reason. On a bike you've really got to stay calm, I'm not prepared to risk my life for a brainless chav.
  8. As I haven't been out on the bike for 3 weeks I decided to go for a ride this evening as it's nice and dry. The first 10 miles was great, and then after that it went down hill. A young lad in a corsa and a chav hat decided it would be sensible to overtake me in possibly the worst place I could explain, with cars coming towards us and on a narrow road. If I wasn't as observant as I am then it could have ended extremely badly. I dropped well back as he was driving like an absolute lunatic and I wanted to give him as much space as possible. When the road then cleared up and widened I dropped down a few gears and pulled out to make an overtake, i stayed back so that he had seen me and then he decided to pull into the middle of the road to prevent me from going around him. The whole time I could seen him looking in his mirrors to purposely block my move. I'm a cool headed rider and I always ride with caution, I decided to drop off and then at the next island took a different turning. In reflection I wish I had been able to get him number plate and report him to the police. I also hope this prat doesn't repeat this move to someone with a worse outcome. I physically cannot believe what must have been going through his head. Shocking
  9. It's brilliant isn't it, been over twice myself for the TT, I'd recommend it to anyone! It's once you've seen it for yourself and ridden the course that you truly appreciate that those guys are absolutely nuts!!!
  10. Can't beat J&S, about an hour from me on the bike. Drop me a message and if I'm free could meet there for a coffe in the cafe!
  11. Sounds nice, where did you pick it up from? I have the Alpinestar supertech gp boots, comfiest things I've ever worn. Got the GP pro gloves too, shame the AS leathers didn't fit me brilliantly. I wear some Arlen Ness leathers, felt they fitted my shape a lot better.
  12. And the sound as it pops and bangs through the up shift!!! Priceless
  13. Can't help myself, just added this to the bike! Must admit I think it looks amazing and will do a great job of keeping the tank protected. I'm going to also get a tank bag for it when pay day comes around! Then it'll do a job for the longer rides which I'd like to plan for the summer
  14. I can't believe how many were there to be honest! I thought last year was big but this year was bigger by over 3,000! Thanks for your comments on the VFR, I had the exhuast system as the first modification and they make a massive difference, they really let the V4 sing! I've just ordered a nice leather Bagster Baglux tank cover for it too. I think that's how it'll stay for the foreseeable future
  15. Definitely something to aim for now, it was brilliant to see so many people supporting a charity which you'll never know when you'll need to call on them! I am in full agreement about it shouldn't be a charity! The weather was an absolute dream too.
  16. Well here is a photo of the bike yesterday after I'd fitted the levers, new mirror and the rear pyramid hugger. I have a carbon fender extender on order and after that I can't really think of anything else that needs to be done... Any suggestions let me know!!! Note the single seat cowl and handles are back on because the better half comes out a lot with me now, she loves it and the VFR is a dream two up. Today I also went on the Bike for Life 2016 ride out for Air Ambulance, there was a 20ish mile ride out on a closed motorway which Steve Parish led and then a festival at RAF Cosford where James Toseland's band played, spitfire fly over and stunt display etc. It was an amazing day and all for a good cause. Here's a photo from the start point, lots of bikes out of shot as well. An estimated 6-7 thousand bikes!!! I even got to have a little chat with Steve Parish. Photo quality isn't great, just off the phone I'm afraid.
  17. Please you all had a good ride, I'd love to be part of the next one I beat the pesky rusty screw and fitted my hugger yesterday. Looks a lot neater now. Up early for the Bike for Life Air Ambulance ride today. Pictures to follow this evening.
  18. Fitted a pair of levers to the VFR this morning which look lovely. Also went to fit my hugger, unfortunately the screw than I need to take out from the chain guard is all rusty and has no head. Left me a little bit annoyed that I can't do it! I've coated it in gt85 but it won't budge :(
  19. I would if I didn't already have plans. :( I can't really get away with a full weekend on the bike either! Haha
  20. Had a long day at work, had the bike and I went to fill up as I didn't have much in the tank and wanted an excuse to get out for a little blast. Only did 25 miles but it was very enjoyable! Hope you all have a good ride on Saturday, get some pics. I'm looking forward to the air ambulance ride on Sunday! Weathers looking good which is nice to see
  21. Looks nice, never had chance to ride a GSXR but hear a lot of good things. Safe riding
  22. Congrats... Any more info? What have you bought?
  23. Just a black pyramid one, mounts straight onto the existing chain gaurs. With my red bike and black wheels it should go nicely. Also going to buy a carbon fender extender for the front eventually!
  24. So I've taken the plunge and bought a rear hugger for my VFR, hopefully it's delivered before the weekend and I can get it fitted before the Air Ambulance ride out on Sunday. I found it on gumtree whilst looking for a Hayes manual, the chap also had a rear hugger so I had them both at a decent price. Fairly happy with my purchase! Photos to follow once arrived and fitted.
  25. We'll have to get a little meet at the Ponderosa over the summer.
