Headlight switch functons
paulkennedy replied to paulkennedy's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Thanks for the reply. No rain or light sensors and the lights go off when you pull the key, the low beams are dull as is the green lights on warning light -

Yesterday I noticed swmbo had left the lights on in the low beam position. No warning buzzer and the lights were off until I turned on the ignition. Is this normal or is there a problem with the switch? There's a golf 5 or 6 switch in the shed would it fit and work? Thanks guys When the side lights are in the on position the warning buzzer sounds when you pull the key...

Octavia low beam peoblem
paulkennedy replied to paulkennedy's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I cant really see much difference with an earth wire attached, however I'm doing it with a bit of wire in daylight. Im wondering are they supposed to look like this inside almost a burnt appearance to my untrained eye. I noticed theres 2 little lugs inside both lights, like you attach spade connectors to, would these be a good place to earth both lights? Thanks for all the replies -

Octavia low beam peoblem
paulkennedy replied to paulkennedy's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Thanks guys I will try that when the missus comes back. Would this cause the low bean warning light to be faint ? I saw h7 LED bulbs online they claim to be 250% brighter, has anyone fitted LEDs? -
hi guys, I recently bought an Octavia 2 1.6 tdi and its great, except... The low beams are like bicycle lights. I changed the bulbs to Nightbreaker 200's still pathetic. The main beams are great. The green lights on lamp on the cluster is very faint too, voltage seems ok. Im hoping you guys have encountered and fixed this problem if not Im considering spots! Thanks in advance

Skoda fabia door rivets and plastic door clips
paulkennedy replied to Kelly_Heroes's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
I used 10 mm Tec screws to refit the regulator cheap and wonderful. I dunno what size the clips are -
Can I run my ’06 Fabia Estate TDI on veg oil?
paulkennedy replied to Robstene's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
In Ireland you can use veg oil if you tell revenue and pay the duty making it way dearer than diesel. they will take your car if you are caught. An idi engine is best like a straight diesel or turbodiesel I couldnt use it in my tdi -
Rear passenger door seal, leaking in.
paulkennedy replied to Franky89's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
I used tec7 roof sealant because it was free but any sealant should be ok. apply liberally -
Pedal Covers - Will They Fit?
paulkennedy replied to AnnoyingPentium's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
I'd be inclined to go for better quality (more expensive) ones. In my experience you buy Chinese (cheap) you buy twice -
Ignition off hold down the trip reset and turn on the ignition. Keep holding the trip button until 3 lines appear on the display and it says oil.

Chisel and lump hammer and a few good wallops will shock it loose. I am assuming the circlip has been removed?
