  3. Looking foward to seeing you there man Time for a little update. Got the car serviced and timing belt done since the last update. Also managed to ruin my sump on my way to a friends house so had to get that repaired too It then went to Stefan's workshop where he kindly fitted the Polo Top mounts which should improve how it sits at the front when i get the Porsche wheels back on. I then finally got my stubby mirrors fitted to the car. Shortly after I sent the car to the paintshop to get a few things sorted including painting and fitting the new rear lip on the bumper. Got it back today and gave it a quick clean. Excuse the phone pictures lol :wonder: Really quite happy with the outcome, although i still need to remove the front mudflaps as I had to remove the rear ones to fit the rear lip. Next job on the list is to get the lips of the Porsche wheels polished then get the tyres refitted. Then just a few little jobs to do before Dubshed :p
  4. Would love to get a meet up with some local fellow briskodians, a few more are popping up too.
  5. I got one of these tomah and it's getting fitted and painted next week. I can get you a couple of pics then if you like
  6. Long time, no updates The first big show of the year is approaching here in Northern Ireland, Dubshed, which takes place on April 7th in Belfast. So its time to start to get some changes and improvements made. The car is going to the mechanic on Friday to get the timing belt done then the week after, its going to a friends house to get its 100k miles service. Some of the things I have purchased include:- - 2 new front adapters (20mm rather than the old 15mm) - 2 new front tyres (205 rather than the old 215's) - Polo Top mounts / caps on the front to get a bit lower - Lupo Wing Mirrors (imminent headache lol) - Skoda Rear Valance - Audi R8 Oil Cap - New Skoda Floor Mats - New expansion bottle to replace the current manky one The To-Do list then is:- - Timing Belt Kit - Service and fit the Polo Top Mounts - Body Shop to paint and fit mirrors and valance including refreshing a few bits of paintwork - Polish lip of the Porsche wheels - Fit new tyres - Fit wheels and adapters then fine tune suspension - Paintwork Correction - Clean the life out of it Will put up pictures of the progress once it happens
  7. welcome along man. Would it be a relay playing up? Thats the only thing I can think of straight away
  8. I know man, proud of myself though. Lasted about 4 weeks lol
  9. Same as Volvomeg, only RS6 replica wheels came in 5x100. If they are genuine then you will have to start looking into pcd adapters and tyre stretch to make them fit.
  10. Cheers guys, much appreciate it. Going to switch my attention to the interior once Christmas is over. Going to get the lips of the wheels polished over winter too
  11. Hi again guys Been quiet for a few months and never got round to posting a build thread for my car so its time to make amends During the summer, I took a notion to change from my trusty Focus 1.8 and had set my sights on a Fabia VRS I soon realised that the Fabia's were still well out of my price range, so started looking at Octavia's and eventually bought one. First things I had to do was replace a few little things that were worn or broken. This included - New rear brakes - Front wheel bearing - New number plates - New front grill and badges - Sort out a couple of annoying car park dings and scratches After doing this, I fooled myself into thinking that I was happy enough to drive it standard. Soon, I became bored so decided to change a couple of little bits and pieces Soon had a certain set of wheels purchased from flybikeslee and also ordered a set of coilovers After spending a night in a mates garage, it rolled out looking like this Thats how it is sitting at the moment and to be honest, was considering a change to a diesel but I enjoy driving this too much so its going to stay. Plans for the new year include - Slightly wider front adapters and a skinnier tyre to match the rear - Wheel Refurb - Interior changes Then maybe move onto a few engine goodies Cheers for reading
  12. Contacted dpm, didn't realise that jom had discontinued the Redline range
  13. Hey guys Looking for somewhere in the UK that can supply me a set of Jom Redline coilovers for my Vrs. Where is the best place apart from Venom Motorsport? Cheers
  14. Haven't been driving the car much since i got it because i have just been tinkering with it replacing bits and pieces before i put it on the road at the end of may so i cant comment on oil consumption Will test the valve stem oil seals and see how it goes. Cheers
  15. Got a bit of a dilemma here guys My 2001 Octavia VRS produces sligh blue smoke when warm on idle sometimes but not when driving The turbo boosts and pulls very healthily, the valve stem oil seals seem fine as it wont produce any smoke while driving and i recently replaced a split crank case breather pipe. I know this topic may have been covered but would appreciate an experienced opinion Cheers
  16. Heys guys Been lurking around on the site for a while. Wanted to buy a Fabia VRS but ended up taking a notion on Easter Sunday and before i could talk myself out of it, went and bought myself a mk1 Octavia VRS. Its going to be my summer car so it wont be on the road until start of June. In that time it will get - New rear brake disks and pads - A few parking dings and scratches fixed - A full paintwork detail and interior valet - Coilovers and (if my budget allows) a nice set of wheels Here it is Loving the site, will put up a build thread as i progress through the work being done
