  1. First off, apologies for this being in the wrong forum, it won't let me post an ad in the Classifieds!! Anyways, I have a Fabia Haynes Manual I no longer need for sale. It's 2000-2006 (W to 2006 reg) Petrol & Diesel. In excellent condition, the odd grubby finger print from where I've used it, but other than that, it's all good £10 posted, PM me on here please Mods- Please move this to the classifieds? Cheers, Andy
  2. Thanks for all the help guys. Having driven it today, felt how **** the steering is and subsequently found next to nothing in the power steering fluid reservoir, it'll be going in the garage this week. What kind of price would you estimate I'll be looking at?! Once again, many thanks!
  3. These all sounds like major/expensive jobs...the fluid is fairly runny, more like oil than grease if this helps diagnose it?
  4. Sorry, I'm a complete numpty when it comes to cars...I don't know what/where the CV boot is! What is the fluid leaking from that/is it a big job to sort?! Many thanks!
  5. Evening guys and girls. Took my wheels off today to check the pads and discs, and worryingly found a leak around the L/H front wheel area. The pictures below show where the oil/fluid has tracked down, but I can't seem to find where it's coming from?! Not sure what fluid it is...seems too 'clean' to be engine oil, but that's low (although I've not checked the oil level for a fair while so not sure if it's suddenly dropped?!). As you can see in the second picture, whatever this fluid is has sprayed outwards from the inside of the rim as I've driven, so I seem to have lost a substantial amount of it, whatever it is... Any help would be much appreciated, even if it's just to hazard a guess at what the problem might be, before I take it to a garage. Thanks in advance, Andy
  6. I've replaced the heating control unit, still no luck, so I'm guessing the next option is the heater flap motor? Is this the little s0d in the passenger side behind the glovebox with a blue plastic cog? Or something else? Is it an easy enough fix? Any help hugely appreciated! Cheers, Andy
  7. Any advice to get my intermittent wiper speed working? Speed I and II work fine, the washer works fine, just not my intermittent...HELP?! Cheers, Andy
  8. A while back I posted about my heating not working. The engine cooling system works fine, the fan speeds and fan direction stuff works fine, just not the temperature dial. Took it to the garage, they can't find anything mechanically wrong, and suggested I contact an auto electrician to see if it's the control unit (I'm guessing they mean the unit with the dials on?!) would this seem like the next viable option? If it's likely to be the dials themselves, I can get hold of a second hand one for £15 and see if that solves the problem, or am I as well taking it to a sparky and getting them to diagnose it? Any help much appreciated, as it's fecking cold here at the mo!! Cheers, Andy.
  9. Cool cool, cheers guys. So if I get the lecky guy to check the motor, and if its that, happy days?
  10. So, had the Fabia in the garage today to try and find out why my heaters won't blow hot...they reckon it's the heater control unit (some electrical component). The engine warms up and the cooling system keeps that right, so I know the heater matrix etc is good. The blowers work on level 1-4, and the selector switches between the vents fine...so does that sound right to you guys? They've given me the number for a recommended auto electrician, so if it is that, will it be a big (and more importantly expensive) job? If he has the dash out to sort that stuff, is it worth getting him to check out my dash pod too, as the needles for the speedo and rev counter won't illuminate either. Cheers for the help guys...I hate being a car mong! Andy
  11. Cheers...but I'm a car chimp, where is this micro switch? As for the soldering, fortunately I know some people, might be able to get them to do it...but again, where is the knackered bit?
  12. So, I've had a Fabia for a few months, had a look online, but can't find any info. First problem, my intermittent wipers don't wipe. On I or II speed they're fine, but intermittent isn't having any of it...any ideas?! Secondly...should the needle on my speedo and rev counter be illuminated at all?! It's bloody hard to see what speed I'm doing at night when I can't see the needle....managed to avoid speeding tickets so far, but it's annoying as hell having to guess! Cheers guys, Andy
  13. Coolio, where abouts is it, in simple terms haha, I'm no expert!
  14. Cheers guys, I figured it might be something like that after looking around on here. The engine is warming up and everything just as it should, and the coolant is doing it's thing, so I guess that rules out a nadged thermostat? Is the flap motor easy to get to, or is it buried in the dash/engine bay somewhere? Ta.
  15. Hi guys and girls, first post, and not the best with cars, but willing to give it a go! The heaters on my 2000 Fabia have given up the ghost. The fan speeds all work as they should, as does the switch to select which vents pump the air out, but the temperature barely changes from cold. There is a SLIGHT difference between fully cold, and fully hot, but it is only slight. Any ideas what I can try to resolve the problem?! Especially as it's getting nippy in the mornings now! Cheers, Andy.
