  1. Thanks for the replies guys, I prefer to talk to a tuner who can literally custom map your car, I had my previous passat tuned to where I thought it was sensible without being outrageous, the tuner said he could take it up another notch but I went from 100 bhp to 128bhp, And I said I had to consider the the balance between good economy and premature wear and tear with the remap, so I stuck with the 128bhp and I noticed an amazing difference, and eight months of motoring later there were no problems whatsoever mechanically. If my skoda behaves as sprightly as the previous car did post remap - I will be delighted. When I test drove the skoda it seemed a bit sluggish, but I had to remind myself that I had been driving a remapped VW tdi previously. I am glad to hear from you guys about your experiences with your remaps , thanks again guys, and HAPPY MOTORING
  2. Hi Roberto , thanks for taking time to reply, how long ago did you have your remap done ? do you find it wheelspins a bit too much, or is is fairly civilised off the clutch? The clutch is my main worry- the car I bought has been used to Tow , but its immaculate, with FULL skoda service history, and the car has had a new cam belt water pump tensioner and rear discs and pads, PLUs it was serviced two months prior to this work being carried out. I nearly didnt bother due to the tow bar , but some caravanners are fanatical about their car maintenance, owning to the fact that they dont want to be breaking down on the motorway with all their family and a caravan in tow. I think the last owner was certainly fanatical about his car, the seats dont even look like they have been sat in and usually with leather trim you can see the "bum crease" on the seats if they have had a hard life. I had my previous passat and fiesta done by chris from cc tuning, great guy and knows his stuff, both cars performed brilliantly after remap. My fiesta was a pig for dying on me as I pulled out of a junction - the remap ironed all that out and makes the car much safer to drive, my wife was paranoid about pulling out at junctions and we nearly got rid of the car because of it. As I mentioned earlier I dont want to be racing everyone at the lights, I just want a car thats a bit more respnsive to the pedal when you are pulling off from a junction etc. I presume you are having no clutch problems , juddering , wheelspins etc ? thanks for your time . Johny
  3. I cant seem to post a question in the tech talk section any clues guys ??? I am looking for opinions on whether a remap on a 105 bhp octavia diesel 1.9tdi pd will be too harsh on the standard clutch assy - going to bump it to 130 bhp - if I can find any infor on what torque the standard clutch it good for - remapped will subject clutch to 310 nm up from 250 nm torque . Anyone else had this done and if so did the clutch hold out OK ? I am not a boy racer type, but just want the extra welly for those odd moments overtaking a tractor/ caravan etc
