  1. Hi guys. Received JOM bonnet lifters today. But when I tried to attach them, they didn't fit, although Venom Motorsport says it is straight fit. When I screw ball thing in, it is too much angled. So not sure whether they sent me wrong ones or else? http://www.venommotorsport.com/manufacturer_product.php?manufacturer=JOM&category=bodystyling&product=BonnetLifters&make=Skoda&model=Octavia
  2. 10 years on MK1 Octy. Mine is 2001 april.
  3. Threre is some rust on front wing, rear wing and tailgate. Front wing isn't a problem, easy to take it off, but rear wing comes off with side skirt and the top bit. I don't have a garage, so that's an issue. I've been thinking about compressor anyways. http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_221343_langId_-1_categoryId_165580
  4. Count me in. I've been waiting for bits since May. I don't really give a f***. It's MY money, and i want it back. It's not like he have to deliver them by him self. It would take max 2 days to pack everything and book courier to collect them.
  5. Looks good. But not sure about lowering springs on standard shocks. I got vrs suspension off here for £65 delivered, now my Elegance is lower then standard, but still comfy.
  6. Hi guys. So yesterday this problem came up. It is juddering when idle. When you start car it start doing it after few seconds. sometimes it also happens when you start driving, there is loss of power and after couple of seconds it is ok? Can it be coil pack or spark plugs? Just want to know before stripping everything off.. Any help appreciated.
  7. Congrats. I'm off to Uni next year ...
  8. Hi guys! I was washing my Octy today, and noticed that rust starts to come out in many places(i.e. Front wing, tailgate etc.). As much as I would like full re-spray, i can't justify spending £1000 on £1500 car. So I've been thinking IF i could do it myself, just fix rusty spots and paint them. Looked at air compressors, spray guns and tents. I know there is many coats needed. So maybe there is someone here with expierience? Second thing is that there is terrible noise coming from tailgate, i assume those are plastics, I have taken them off, i can't find anything bad with them, but noise is just annoying. Any ideas? Have anyone used touch-up pencil? - any good? Thanks for help.
  9. I want 2nd golf then. I have done some research on classic car insurance for young drivers, but all named drivers must be 21 or over.
  10. Classic car insuruance is available only if you are 21+. Just got another quote for 1.2L Fabia Classic - £6500
  11. "insuring car" system could work, IF, they restrict engine size you can drive. For example, you can't drive car which is more 1.4L till you are 21 years old. OR like for motorcycles, you have to ride 125cc for 2 years and then you can go onto a more powerful ride.
  12. I agree that we (young drivers) have to pay more, but not £3-4k or even more. I am from Latvia originally, and in Latvia they insure car instead of a driver, which means for me it would cost about 100quid to insure me on my dad's Audi 100 2.6L V6, which is not right. New drivers get their license and buy 3.0L BMW's.
  13. Finished my course today, and found out that Engineering Department is closing down. Other college I am thinking to go to is about 1.5 hours with public transport (i really hate public transport), and just 30 mins with car. So first i HAVE TO find a job and next, i have to start shopping around for insurance and car. I start to consider advanced driving courses and 'crap' cars. But that is better then nothing.... Wish me luck
  14. I could do pass plus JUST so i can drive your VRS. I will try call them up and see what they say.. cheers.
  15. I've looked at pass plus, but almost most of the reviews said that it doesn't work. And if i go on confused.com and put that i've got UK FULL (PASS PLUS) license it doesn't change at all.
  16. I've been looking at advanced driving courses. They cost about £400 for a good one, where you get a certificate at the end of it. But I'm not sure if i will get £400+ off insurance premium.
  17. hi guys. Well, insurance is sick. I am 18 years old male. I am not saying that I'm expierienced driver, but i don't think that insurance for Felicia, which costs £300 can be about £4000. 'Young' doesn't mean that i will drive like a ******* moron. I was checking insurance on my dad's 1.8T Octy, it was £15000 if i'm not mistaken, after that, i checked insurance on Audi A8 or S8, can't remember, it was £10000. Now i passed my test, insurance for Audi R8 is about £10000. Where is 'system' in that? Someone said couple of grand a year? - couple grand a year is cheap mate. Inurance for 1L Polo is close to £5k. It's not something I can earn working part-time. I still have my college to go to and course work to finish. I passed my theory test back in March. Have you ever looked at it? There is questions like:- Why can't you park there (and picture included)? Well, I really don't care WHY i can't park there, i just know that i can't. Most of the questions was about something that would not help me in real life. Another question was, what to do if there is accident and motocycle is involved. I would probably call ambulance, because i'm not a doctor. Fair enough, charge me £5000 for insurance, but if i had no accidents, refund me 50%, but NO! it is not good for insurance companies. One thing is that young drivers are involved in accident, but other is whether it was their fault. And 'more expierienced drivers' are not better. They have no idea what is indicator used for, and that in roundabouts you have to look on your right for other cars.
  18. same here. But when i took upholstery off tailgate, i couldn't see any rust from inside. So i hope it's just what i see.
  19. that is like for free. Which company is that? as I'm 18 and looking for insurance.
  20. same here. Said that it will be collected by courier on Friday, nothing yet.
