  1. Hi Guys, Quick question, my grandfather has recently purchased an Octavia, and with the standard HU it's possible to link (mirror link) smart phones but when I click on to it then it says contact Skoda for a code (or words to that affect), do we need to go back to Skoda for this, or is there a work around like on VCDS?
  2. car sounded like it wanted to start the other day but wouldn't...next plan of action is wait for @vrs19td to come up with his vcds to see if he can pick anything up failing that going to local Skoda garage.
  3. Glad your're okay mate bet it was a brown pants moment!
  4. nope still no good hello scrappers
  5. hold on.....flat battery (insert massive facepalm gif here) Charging now will try tomorrow.
  6. My grandfather reckons it could be fuel starvation possible blockage in petrol line...full tank in there too
  7. fitted the new coil pack and all new spark plugs, it turns over but wont start so close yet so far
  8. No i didn't see the car at any time apart to pick it up with the RAC to take it back home. They said charged me £60 only to replace a part I forget what part it was.
  9. Well im guessing the garage could have said it was seized and not even stripped it down just looking for quick money, as it wasn't a Skoda/Skoda approved garage. Im not saying the above would seize the engine by any means. but the car wouldn't of started witht his being like it is. In my previous statement where i put " the garage had it running for 20mins" it was meant to say 20 seconds....that's if they had it running as I couldn't pre RAC pick-up.
  10. Well, well, well! I had a good look at 'easy options' to what it could be and low and behold I found this: How did the garage not see this?! it will explain the loss of power (as I've had trouble with ignition packs before and had the same problem) and the rattling noise I heard, and why it wouldn't start later that night.
  11. Right apologies if it's in the wrong section but I have a question. If I were to purchase a set of lights that look like this: How would I paint them black...buying a black pack is out of the question for the set of lights I'm acquiring and I dont want to tint them outsides either. If a step by Step guide is available that'd be better as I will need to prise them apart and re-glue them back together which i've only just thought about. Thanks in Advance.
  12. M3 TOY On a Blue Jag XKR-S just done a reg check: 542bhp 5L I bet it toys with M3's.
  13. Goddamit Mort had a feeling you'd be saying that.
  14. Mort i'll be on this evening if you want to have a bash at it?
  15. I have no mechanical knowledge, and garages are a rip off.
  16. I don't think it is D15, I'm pretty sure they said that is okay. I just don't know what to do. 1. Find a donor engine chuck it in, sell it. (most obvious choice) 2. Strip for parts / Scrap it.
  17. yup as hutchy says its not the garage's (non Skoda garage btw) fault the engine was seized or sort of before it went in. I think i just need to man up and drop it off at Skoda dealer and see what they say. Anyone clued up on finance etc, i'm guessing i'll still have to pay it even though i'm not/cant use it?
  18. From previous update about the car, engine has sized wont turn over. £3,600 for garage to rebuild it. Currently SORN and sat on my drive....cannot be bothered with it. Got few months finance left on it. Might get stripped next year so watch this space.
