Was going to wash the car today but the weather has put a halt to that!!

As others have said get down the old bill and speak to them. It's failure to stop. End of the day it's an accident and failing to report it/leave a note is a criminal offence.

Unfortunately I can't afford the whole bumper replacement at the moment so will have to take the risk. I'll be washing by hand from now on anyway.

Just spoke to the dealer and he is willing to pay half the costs. Which is better than a kick in the face I suppose. Oh and he wasn't aware if the bumper was replaced but doubt it. The flaking is just an unlucky occurrence apparently.

I reckon I get about 17mpg just cos I love the car, and love putting my foot down. As a newbie I just can't resist!!

Don't think I can get the whole bumper done, just because of cost. They are going to check the whole bumper anyway. Heard nothing back from dealer yet...

Thanks guys. I emailed them yesterday but we'll see. With my experience of dealers I won't hold my breath but they got excellent reviews on here. I am going to get the bumper resprayed, and send them a copy of the receipt and photo of the damage. It's a shame because I have one guy who will do it £30 cheaper cash in hand, but I need a receipt.

Thanks for all your help and advice everyone. Skoda warranty doesn't cover paintwork only body work unfortunately. Bit of a bummer, don't think the dealer will help either- grrr. Good thing is it will only cost about £100 to fix.

Well the dealer I bought it from is 80 miles away. Not ideal. I take it to my local one and hope they do it under warranty. If not see how much it is to get it resprayed. If it is too much I'll use chips away in the short term.

I have skoda approved warranty that came with the car when I bought it 3 weeks ago so hopefully they should be able to do something or am I wishing?!

To me the bumper doesn't look as if it has been repaired or resprayed. Same colour match. I'm in Swindon.

I'll take it down my local dealer on Monday and see what they say. I didn't buy it from them but hopefully they'll be able to help!!

All the rest of the bumper is fine. How will I know if the bumper has been replaced? Surely it should come under the skoda warranty if sold to me through a dealer?

Took my car to wash it today, and using the power wash the paint work by the wheel started to flake off. Angry was understatement. I've only had the car 3 weeks but it is a 2006 plate. I have a years skoda warranty would it cover it? If not, whats the next plan of action. Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

There's the isofix points but some car seats come with a tether strap which hooks over the head rest and into an 'anchor' point. Stops the top of the car seat flinging forward if the dreaded were to happens.

I've had a look but can't seem to find an anchor point in a 2006 octavia. Is this right? What are the two points on the sidesjust behind the seats for?

I bought my VRS three weeks ago. No xenons, No jumbo box, No dual climate. Basically the standard model, but to be honest the price and mileage were right. Also the colour made the deal. I got my 06 for £6500 with 45k on the clock. -
I don't care if people smoke in their cars, its when they throw their butts out the window which annoys me more than anything!
