Satnav maps and music (mp3) on my 32gb sd card. Works great. All my maps and music in the one place. Plays titles from the sd card and reads the maps at the same time. No problems at all.

Hi Can you mix V3 and V4 maps on the one sd card ? I Have the V3 for UK but got the V4 (2012) ver for a trip to France. Rather than run the French one from the cd is it ok to install it onto the sd card alongside the UK V3 map ? Any help welcome. Thanks

From what I have seen in mags and online late 2013 seems about right. Others on here may have better info ?

My SE is the same. Just wanting to know if there is any way of turning on the instrument lighting without the side/dipped lights being switched on. It's no big deal but if you don't ask you don't get !

Hi Had the octavia for almost two weeks and I like it a lot. I find the dash lighting at night very good but during the day, if it's a dull day the dials are sometimes hard to read ! (May just be my old farts eyes) Is there any way to have the dash/dial illumination on all the time without having the side/dipped lights switched on ? Checked in Maxidot but don't see anything that would do this. :beer:

Mine are spliced with the side light positive wire and all works fine. To be legal they need to go off with sidelights.

Just passed on my Golf tdi 130 to my son. Car had done 108k in 9.5 years. Still drove like new. Very quick and no rattles/squeaks. Front wings replaced f.o.c. by VW last year as there was a small rust area on the arches. It was a fault that allowed the inner liner to rub against the inside of the wing. Rest of the bodywork in good nick for the age. Great car but new Octavia is on a pcp.

Hi Got my Octavia on Tuesday. Very pleased. The controller/switch for the external mirrors has a setting for folding in the mirrors. But nothing seems to happen. Am I missing something or does the SE spec just have the switch setting for show ? Picture of new car attached.

Hi Picked up my new Octavia SE tdi yesterday. Due to the floods in the far east the normal ICE unit was in short supply so my car came with the Amundsen SatNav Unit and Maxidot (at no extra cost). However I just have the basic steering wheel without the wheel controls and the dealer says that is why the phone/bluetooth facility is not working. Can't complain as I got the upgrade for free but would be nice to have it working. Does anyone know if it's possible to get it activated ? Is the steering wheel with the controls required ? Many thanks.

My new car does not have DRLs. No fog lights so no drls. I am happy to try and fit them myself but was concerned about the dealers comments re the "canbus" wiring. Is that just a red herring or is the canbus really an issue ?

Hi Sorry if this is a daft question. I have searched the forum and although there are lots of posts regarding DRLs none seem to answer my question. I have just bought an Octavia SE 1.6 tdi and I pick it up tomorrow (Tues 14/02/2012) and as part of the deal the Skoda dealer agreed to fit my set of Ring Aurora DRLs that I got as a Christmas present. However he has come back to me saying that his auto electrician is not happy fitting them as the car has "cambus" wiring. He is just not keen to fit as it's a new car and does not want to tap into the wiring loom. My understanding is that the only wire that needs to be tapped into is the side light positve. Is cambus wiring an issue in this case or are they just being lazy ? Any advice welcome. Thanks from a newbie.

Does this work ok on cars with Cambus wiring ?
