My 2023 MINI Cooper S Level 3 Electric leased from Motability which will be with me for 3 years & now a 2021 MG5 as a dog wagon.
Minus 7 degrees start. Pre heat for 5 mins plugged in. 100% show 104 miles. Then I noticed that Power available is limited to 75%. I was in sport and behind vans and lorries so was getting 3 8 miles a kWh and it was minus 6. Heating at 19 degrees. Exactly after 20 miles power available went to 90% and at 25 miles to 100% . After 40 miles I had 70 mile range and then on Motorway it was 3.3 miles a kWh. Arrived at MFG charger after 80 miles with 30% battery and 30 miles range. Charger started dead easy. Plug in tap card. 79 pence a kWh, next charge will be at a Tesla charger the after that no plan yet for 90 miles or so later. See where I am then. New tyres a success as far as efficiency . Comfort great and silent .

Corrosion protection of modern Skodas ?
Yeti drivers are unlikely to keep their car off road because it is winter and wet , cold or snowy or if there has been salting / gritting. They are have as much corrosion protection as any other Skoda model or VW Group model. It is things like subframes, brackets and exhausts that suffer corrosion but just as any other VW Group models. An issue for some Yeti issue less common with other Skoda is Zinc Inclusion' and there are some cases of Yeti that have had new panels, just refinished panels and maybe several times over their life, and actually Yeti that Skoda should have had in the foyer of Skoda CZ HQ as an example to how to not get QC so bad. Just a small percentage of Yeti maybe had the Zinc Inclusion issue, so Skoda should not have made owners jump through hoops. Just use a search google images, briskoda skoda yeti rust or briskoda yeti zinc inclusion then from the pictures you get the threads.

1.5 tsi throttle lag
£1,200 was less than a Mechatronic usually costs plus fitting. £1,700 is usual for an Independent Specialist. Is it a new MCU or a repaired / refurbished one? ................. This was 2018 and this was my pals DQ200 DSG. Which was too far away to get brought to where i live so that my pal a Autobox Specialist could do the work.

1.5 tsi throttle lag
You need proper Automatic Gearbox Specialist with the experience of DSG,s & the Software & Hardware and that can do a proper job because the place you were at have taken the p!ss IMO They appear to have not much of a clue.

Karoq Service
Using the term MAJOR Service might be the issue. It is Oil & Inspection Services, if on fixed Services, year 1,2 & 3 and the Extended Scope year 3 and then each 2 years. Extra year 2 Pollen Filter, Extra year 3 the Brake Fluid and year 5. As to year 4 / 40,000 miles it is an Oil & Inspection Service and Pollen Filter and Spark Plugs extra. But then depends what has been done, what you want done. Ask exactly what they are doing and are they still saying 'Major Service'?

2023 Superb 280 Sportline Plus 4x4. A good buy?
@HappySam If a Superb Hybrid / PHEV was it not a 1.4 TSI engine rather than a diesel?

Maxxis AP2 All Season tyres. Update 2024 & Maxxis AP3.
I just fitted Maxxis AP3,s and the ride on them in the totally dry but poor surface roads is nice. On an EV and no noise. Sidewalls stronger than the AP2,s. I might get to see how they are on snow tomorrow or by the weekend. I expect them to work well. They are on instead of Vrestein Quatrac Pros, and smaller rims and narrower tyres.

More than happy with the smaller rims and change of tyres. Handling better, less crashy, no wheel spin take off even though just above freezing, full power and traction and dynamic control off, but sunny so the road surface was maybe warm enough.

DCC driving in sleet/snow
New tyres on my MINI today and very happy with the difference in ride with the Maxxis & smaller rims.

Recall
There are for some the recalls other than the Engine Cover one, which by now they should all be replaced. The DSG Mat one might be relevant.

the truth about electric cars
The National Grid is a private owned thing, owned by overseas investors / shareholders with the profits leaving the UK. BBC 5 Live, Wake up to money had a Dealership Group CEO saying just how Private EV sales are right down and it is Fleet Sales / Lease vehicles and because of BIK etc and Company Cars then the drivers are not customers buying / leasing EV,s for the family. The incentives are for business,s / business users and not for the people wanting to buy / lease personal vehicles. The Motor Trade know what they want from the UK Government the only one without incentives for Hard Working or not hard working families buying EV,s. PS Less spending on Chargers in the London area might be a good idea until the rest of England gets more Rapid Chargers and not just on Motorways. ............... Where has Rolls Royce got to with Small Nuclear Modular plants? Now that Boris has gone.

the truth about electric cars
There are Small Chunky ones coming and the FIAT Panda EV might be a winner & the Renault 4. Pity that Suzuki have not got an Ignis or Jimny sized EV ready, they showed the Jimny one about a decade back.

@Mikeevans She likely never quoted the Air Filter even if she knows what it is because it is no longer a 4 year / 40,000 replacement item. It went to 6 years / 60,000 miles in 2020. *Obviously it should be checked at services and replaced if required.* Did she include their very expensive if they change it Pollen / Cabin Filter? Can you not change that, or look at the air filter and change if required? Was the Brake Fluid changed at 3 years / 30,000 miles or tested? ............ Top Green Menu how it was pre 2020. That is 2nd Variable Service that is a Major, the first 2 year / Variable / Flexible service should never have been charged as a Major Service.- Acceleration Issues in a 2012 Skoda Fabia
Welcome. The spark plugs expiring can mean the coils expire prematurely. So changing the spark plugs were maybe due or overdue, but then the coils were needing replaced as well. Job done. What 1.2 petrol engine is it a TSI or another? Has it had a fuel filter changed, has it got a nice clean air filter in? ? Has it been on a diagnostic to see if there are any logged fault codes?- Which all season tyre?
Huge hike in premiums for some. Plenty have had near no increase. But that's how it goes. Then those losing it on snow or ice or just the wet on Summer tyres need to be a bit handy or lucky as well. Maybe tyres never looked at since a MOT or tyres checked at a service or when changed make for fun and and are rather common. There will be people out in this weeks weather warning with new cars and maybe the pressures as they were when the car left the factory and they were over inflated for the transportation. Never reset at the PDI or checked when collected.- The MG 4 and 5 EV and Maxus vans - Game changing cars & vans from SAIC
The AI will have helped them as well with how many go into the exempt from VED due to Classic Status, how many older cars might not get scrapped because skint people are holding on to them, and into the Equation that Labour coming into power might start a Scrappage Scheme. Rishi Sunak MP / PM was saying today how the burden on hard-pressed households is starting to ease. Lower Mortgages and fuel prices etc. & based on 8 million people getting £299 Cost of Living Payment between today and the 22nd Feb. (Downing street had to correct a statement about him running off at the mouth about KC3, He never meant the cancer was caught early because he was never told anything about that.) They are full of guff and predictions and general nonsense. As for Jeremy Hunt, well yet another millionaire that knows how his finances goes by needs others with the brain for numbers to write it down for him.- The MG 4 and 5 EV and Maxus vans - Game changing cars & vans from SAIC
Thanks. So on their predictions, based on the Percentage annually of Zero Emission vehicles manufacturers must First Register year on year.- Which all season tyre?
Not only in your experience. Not like it is a recent thing is it? But they can not just make it up to suit themselves but they will try.- Which all season tyre?
I have been around plenty vehicle inspections of crashed vehicles by Police and Insurance investigators and seen plenty mixed tyres on cars. This sort of nonsense is what gets trotted out and has been getting done for years about mixing tyre types. Voiding insurance on Stretched tyres might be a starter for 10, or the crap odd tyre that some of Scotlands biggest Car Dealership Groups fit would be Simply Clever.- The MG 4 and 5 EV and Maxus vans - Game changing cars & vans from SAIC
Tripling? Rowlocks. 1 Million EV,s first registered since 2002 ! The thing with the Treasury is their arithmetic is duff. These are the people who always no the amount that people defraud the treasury of money, but somehow can not get the money back because they do not know who these people are. It really is like the Current UK Government are trying their hardest to discourage private motorists from going to BEV.s. Seemingly only 3% of vehicles are 'Disabled Class', but those with a vehicle disabled class will be Exempt from VED, and the cars Motability own and lease which are getting to be more and more BEV,s are VED exempt.- Which all season tyre?
*******s. Totally legal size, speed and load rating tyres with the correct tread depths. The loss adjuster would really be taking the pith trying putting in their report than there were Summer Bias tyres on one axle and Summer bias tyres with 3 peak winter certification on the other.- Karoq Service
@VRT24 If a FWD Karoq then the DQ200 has no service schedule. If an AWD then the DQ381 schedule is at 80,000 miles bit people might want it sooner, and that is a fair bit more than £200. There would be the Haldex as well at 3 year / 30,000 mile intervals. PS That Fixed Price chart is from 2020. & this one from 2021 and does not reflect the costs in 2024- the truth about electric cars
All click bait regardless of the publication . But then they are there to pass on news, stories, rumours or speculation. Motability have a lot of EV,s to sell in the next year or 3 in the UK via BCA. - the truth about electric cars
