Brake Discs VRS MK2
They were not great when new in 2011 so hardly likely to be any better now even with different discs and pads. Fluid and Brake Pipes. Maybe up grade the size of the discs and pads or use your DSG shifter to help retard the speed.

the truth about electric cars
1 Million electric cars sold in the UK since 2002, i read on the BBC. No idea how many Electric Vans, or they mean Electric vehicles as well in the figures. No word on how many of these Sold / Registered are still on the road or maybe scrapped. Or on SORN, but surely the DVLA know that. Maybe even the SMMT do. http://bbc.co.uk/news/business-68199898 Maybe there are figures somewhere from the Insurance Underwriters how many have been written off because of Fire or Flood or road accidents. Also how many thefts of these 1 million BEV,s.

'22 RS - is wheel alignment two-wheel or four-wheel?
I would want the Alignment check done on all 4 wheels by someone with the gear and the scores on the doors then the ability to make adjustments if required on front and back if required and on a car where the back can be adjusted. Once they have set up the check especially if FREE they do tend to want to make an adjustment so that they earn money. I would prefer to be paying a professional to do the check, and then any adjustments required rather than a Tyre Fitting Centre with the gear but little idea.

The MG 4 and 5 EV and Maxus vans - Game changing cars & vans from SAIC
2024 and so far no Sanctions from the UK Government stopping the import of MG,s or the parts and those with them might just keep driving them until the can not, or punt them and get another BEV built in the UK or from some other world region. Or maybe back to ICE in the form of PHEV or MHEV.

The MG 4 and 5 EV and Maxus vans - Game changing cars & vans from SAIC
As the income that reached the Treasury reduced from VED and lower emission vehicles the government have resolved that one by introducing VED on the BEV,s. Its not all about getting to Net Zero really. It is all about Tax Cuts for those who might not really need them, and who might even just buy what ever vehicle they want regardless of running costs. Then no matter how many they own, each driver can only drive or ride one at a time. The others are parked.

The MG 4 and 5 EV and Maxus vans - Game changing cars & vans from SAIC
I watched a rather well know EV Youtuber with a vid at the weekend talking about cheap charging with his provider and he actually said it was very windy and good for renewables and he was plugging in and charging. My thought was how many Wind Farms on shore or off are near where you actually are and it is more important that the wind is blowing where the renewable electricity is generated. Not how it works though, there are those that do not need energy produced anyplace near them, yet they get cheap power and those near the turbines might well not because they are not with Octopus or have not got Smart Meters. As to the reduction of ICE vehicles on the roads and less fossil fuels. This year a percentage of new cars will be Electrified and a growing percentage each year. As long as cars are getting scrapped and taken off the roads then maybe emissions drop. Real world is that a lot of cars in the UK no matter how many millions are parked up and not moving most of the time, that includes Light Commercials but light commercials might possibly be more used than passenger cars, and they do tend to use more fuel / diesel. Commercial Use Cars and Vans going EV in higher numbers will help a fair bit, and might well get charged more using off peak charging. Smug! Cheaper for him than actually erecting his own turbine so when the wind blows around his home he can glow.

@Okedokey Was very assertive in a past thread about the oil change in the Oil in a OAM DQ200 DSG at 60,000 km. Quite cheeky to me because of my stupidiy. Nothing wrong with changing the oil in the MCU as long as done properly, the same with the oil in the box, but it would be good if someone showed where VW / Skoda recommend this, or have advice, guidelines or a schedule showing 60,000 km or under 38,000 or even 40,000 miles.

@StonekeeperThanks for that. But then i have friends working for them. In NDT / Non Destructive Testing. Funnily not everyone came up the Clyde or the Forth on a paddle board. Lots of public money might come in and a damn site more gets thrown their way. When Petroineos or China says enough then Offski they go. Time will tell. If the Carbon Capture goes ahead. It could have been approved a decade ago for Peterhead when they can actually get on and do it.

@Stonekeeper Absolutely no plans to shut down, other than in an emergency. ? Where are the plans for replacement, or upkeep, renewal? I had friends that worked on the building of it, long since dead some of them. Grangemouth is closing and becoming a terminal for supplies arriving by sea. As already happens. The pipeline is 1 mile away from where i live. It is amazing how many people locally have no idea where it is.

The UK Government keep issuing more licences for the North Sea explorations. They are rather happy with the revenues that come in and really could not care less who is actually getting the licences as long as it is not obvious as being Russia. Plenty changing of ownership happens but really the ownership's are not moving far other than in apperances, They care not about how many go the way of China. When the Forties Pipeline which was opened in 1975 eventually closes the UK is in trouble and i am not aware of any replacement for it happening. It could shut down anytime if leaks happen like there was in 2017 near Stonehaven. INEOS own it having bought it from BP.

the truth about electric cars
Filling stations and forecourts and not the shops or even forecourt shops and changing hands is just the same as with the Issa Brothers /EG Group and ASDA. Finance and borrowing and shared holding and Spread Betting / Hedging / Tax efficient and what was the Monopolies Commission and now the Competition Commission getting run rings around. (Why is there only ONE Competitions Commission?) SWARCO / Lloyd Brothers in Scotland have got away with having a Monopoly in Scotland the Scottish Government and Agencies like Transport Scotland conspiring in that being allowed to happen. Loads of public money there going to those and such as those. At least the Commercial Operators are spreading the spending around. Maybe to businesses they have financial interests in. But that is how commerce an industry works. Overseas investors and Hedge funds, and Pension Funds, Banks & Institutions and smoke and mirrors. & Politicians in their pockets Home charging or public charging matters, but the big difference is Private drivers compared to Business users. Cost / taxes.

- If money was no object ..... ?
Money seems to be no object here. Lots of crackers.- The MG 4 and 5 EV and Maxus vans - Game changing cars & vans from SAIC
Just as England will have to do when the French close the last of their Nuclear plants in the UK probably. Mericans are starting WW3 pretty soon, they are about there. Before that the Chinese owned along with front man Jim Rattcliffe / Ineos are closing te Grangemouth refinery / cracking plant. So much for Energy Security as far as Scotland and the North of England goes as far as Road, Air & Marine fuels. They will just have to rely on imported fuel that come in by tanker as the south will one the other refineries close. The UK better get those conscripts trained and and start getting more ships built, maybe in Poland.- Help with tuned second-hand fabia
When someplace without the tool i use a Welding rod and pliers and make a tool. Some do it properly and it is just like the real McCoy, and some do the Zip-tie thing.- Help with tuned second-hand fabia
The coils should be fine. My issue is with Remapers. I would never remap a car without first fitting the plugs i want to use, the air filter / intake and run it on super unleaded and then when sure all is well. Tuners with no opinion on the plugs might just not be that bothered about stuff like getting the most from what the customer has.- The MG 4 and 5 EV and Maxus vans - Game changing cars & vans from SAIC

I would have asked the person that tuned it on their recommendation for Spark Plugs. I would have bought DENSO. Members here with remaps will tell you maybe if the stayed with OEM. Check you can remove the Ignition Coils or you want to get the tool to do that.- Tesla Model 3 facelift
- Hi All
Welcome. Sounds like a good move if you are a business user and it is tax efficient and you have home charging at offpeak / reduced tariffs or workplace charging and not having to pay for Public Rapid / Ultra Rapid charging. Plenty stuff in the Enyaq section to keep you occupied until your car arrives.- Help with tuned second-hand fabia
@jensbakker I would mistrust what you were told about the 200 hp by whoever. I would want that in writing and that you do not need to declare on your insurance. As it is they have no idea really what change the remapping has made and if 20% of an increase or greater. 110 ps is not just a factory upgrade, and no idea why anyone would think that, it can involve different brake and wheel sizes and gearboxes, gears.- Idle RPM Octavia 1.5TSI MK3 2020
AC off and most other stuff under 900 rpm within 1 minute, around 850 maybe. ? Why does it matter? AC , lights on, anything on will depend on what the car is happy at with the load on the battery. Different ambient temps, humidity, air filter clean or not so clean, state of spark plugs etc etc. How much above sea level. Location, Climate ...- the truth about electric cars
You get the same when charging on Public chargers. Losses from what the Battery Capacity is and the Useable, then what you are charged for electricity taken and what the car or apps shows you use. The Battery is only 32.6 kWh and 28.9 kWh usable and it was showing as having 20% when charging started. @lol-lolcommented in another post that the 5% loss from the car and the houses meter was not bad. Then there is the kWh and the battery charged, and if the battery is having to be heated while charging there is that electricity used, or heating the cars interior, or pre heating the car before leaving is using electricity from the mains but not charging the battery. Waiting on my new Smart Meter, they have been telling me for 15 years i need a new meter and am legally required to have one. At some point about 10 years ago i had to checked and it was fine.- the truth about electric cars
Thank you, so useful as i have been cold often when charging as i had not changed to that setting. *Vid shows in title -3* oC % then he is talking about 3* oC, a difference of 6 degrees celcius right there even if he shows a screen with weather @ -4*oC* As to charging below 0*oC or above or lots above it is all pretty much of a muchness as i have experienced and with a cold battery or a battery that has just been running 100 miles makes very little difference. Chargers are very very different though. As to hotter ambient temps i have found charging slower up above 20*oC the few times i charged in the sun, it throttles back more to not overheat. Yesterday was warmish about 10*oC and i did 97 miles from 100% and got home with 21% and 20 miles range showing and the car saying 3.8 miles a kw/h. Charged on the 3 pin and the car says it took 28 kWh, and the meter for the house says 34 kWh. (@21 pence a kWh = £7.14) (12 hours 6 minutes charging, 16.25 - 04.29 am) Warmer this morning, 100% and 107 miles. Drove 2 x 2 miles, going down hill getting 6 miles a kWh, and back up showing 4.2 miles a kWh. and oddly car showing 100% and 103 miles. Narrower All Season tyres Maxxis AP III Premitra and narrower 16" rims instead of 17" going on on Wednesday and then a good few hundred miles to do after that but looks like being back to colder weather. (That will be good for comparison to the same charger to charger trips in the same temperatures on the Vredstein tyres and the Maxxis, a few extra miles range would be nice, even 5 miles...That can make a big difference really about touching cloth or not.) ................ The one in the Video is a Pre-face change car, it has Fog lights, first registered in Scotland. (Edinburgh) I see from his other Vid it has Matrix headlights, mine does not. - If money was no object ..... ?
