EV real world range and cost to charge
- the truth about electric cars
So easy to get good fuel consumption without driving to hypermile. I liked the autoboxes and how they are. The Clio handles great & better than the likes of the Toyota Yaris that is also a fuel sipper.- the truth about electric cars
@cheezemonkhaiHave you tried a Renault Clio or maybe a Dacia Jogger hybrid?- My 2023 MINI Cooper S Level 3 Electric leased from Motability which will be with me for 3 years & now a 2021 MG5 as a dog wagon.
Do not leave the window down (passenger side) even just a little by mistake if there is going to be rain, especially lots of rain. Then if you do and it turns out not too much water came in and you dry it up and drive off, do not make the mistake of opening your window. Lack of guttering is the biggest error of any in these cars that are much BIGGER than the original Mini but is supposed to be have the Retro look. You never got soaked with the sliding windows or wind up and down ones when there was a gutter. The door would drop though and the engine might not start because of the H20 that got in the engine compartment. .................... The New MINI Cooper Electrics can be reserved. I take it that is because they will come in from China before any are built in the UK. That seemed not to be mentioned the other day when the news story was all about how the 2 new electric MINI's will be built in the UK from 2026. Well this is 2023. Lets see if Motoring Journalists notice that you can not open the windows when sitting and it is raining unless you want rain coming in the car and obviously you can not fit Wind Deflectors. Not handy if sitting in an EV when charging and it is raining and you are not under a canopy.- the truth about electric cars
Most of it is a load of kidology to do with getting through WLTP & RDE2 and real world results that have nothing to do with the real world. IMO & IME of trying them Renault / Dacia have 'Mild hybrid' technology nailed if you want to drive their vehicles and drive them in a way that you get very good fuel economy out of these petrol vehicles. Actually they are doing quite well with BEV,s also. The PHEV,s are there just for helping them with Fleet Average emissions i think and because some customers might actually use them as they can be used and not much liquid fuel used and cheap charging of the battery for short journeys.- Looking at a 2018 Octavia 1.0 SE Technology
You most certainly can get the service record as they have it on the system. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/516152-digital-skoda-service-record Ask the salesperson to send you the Service & Warranty history before you go see the car. It might show Oil & Inspection Services & extended scope. Great if they have the additional work done. shows a AC service or stuff customers get told is due.- Skoda Octavia mk4 1.0 E-tec
@skodanut What kind of issue do you think there might be? Do not hurt your back lifting the wheels. Maybe use a tool that helps line the wheels up as you put them on.- Looking at a 2018 Octavia 1.0 SE Technology
@JamesK Was it leased by British Gas from Volkswagen, which is a different thing. Being happy that everything should have been done is fine. But if 'Fleet Serviced' / Serviced plan that does not mean all was done. So you want to see that Spark Plugs, Brake Fluid, Air Filter etc were done. Or just go with they 'Should have been' Could have been' but there is no record that they were done unless invoicesl Just budget to have stuff done if no record of them. A FMDSH is nothing special, a Fleet Vehicle might well have had less servicing than some car privately owned.- Parking and turn signals
The 'Parking Lights' one front & one rear sidelight )position light) and one number plate light are on when stopped / parked with ignition off and the indicator stalk down. The Indicator should not be flashing or able to as the ignition is off. The Hazards can be put on. Are you asking about something else like the Side lights & indicators? ? Or do you want the DRL (Daytime / Daylight running light) to stay lit while the indicator works?- Looking at a 2018 Octavia 1.0 SE Technology
All you can do with the DSG is drive and see if it feels OK. What is the full service history of, is it to manufacturers recommendations, guidelines or schedule. @ 80,000 miles it should have had the 2nd replacement of spark plugs. The brake fluid would have been changed at 3 years and due again at another 2. The Air Filter might not even have been looked at. That is the thing with Service Histories, you want a record of stuff done, not the stuff not done.- Thinking of doing the service myself!
Who quoted that, and do they know these cars. Or these gearboxes? In 2007 they were supposedly 'SEALED FOR LIFE' which they were not, but there was no Service Schedule then around 80,000 miles people thought this can not be right. There might be mention now of 100,000 oil changes. Best leave alone if it works well IMO. Your fuel filter might do with replacing.- the truth about electric cars
They are 50 or 75 kWh now. As for the Stellantis MPV,s that are 50 kWh and have only 7 kw on board chargers not even 11 kW ac (an option) they are a damn joke really for what some leased them for. That is really down to the Motability Specialist at Dealerships who probably knew no more than the customers in ordering them. They might do those that go no place far, but that is not why many want their Freedom, or the family want a suitable vehicle. They are not suitable. This is absolutely ridiculous.- Skoda Octavia VRS (My eBay Disaster)
It was almost at 86,000 at the last MOT last year. You posted 82,000. Were you not checking anything before buying?- Thinking of doing the service myself!
Read one of the many threads on here on how to re-set the Service Indicator. There are different ones and different ways. Have you serviced cars before, if so then you do everything and especially stuff many main dealers dont. I take it you are leaving the Tiptronic gearbox alone and not changing ATF. Spark Plugs. Air & PollenFilter. Brake Service, Check brake fluid for H2o, tester, Check Anti Freeze / Summer coolant check. Prep everything for winter, locks, hinges, door seals etc. Check tyres when wheels off the car.- Skoda Octavia VRS (My eBay Disaster)
You notices when you got it that the dash had the wrong mileage i take it? Does the engine number match the V5?- 1.0 TSI misfires on acceleration
? Where the spark plugs replaced at 64,000 km / 4 years or sooner? Some are nit even good for that long.- the truth about electric cars
If they offer that in Stallantis vans they will be getting someplace. People would be able to have AWD EV Camper vans and maybe the utility companies and emergency use them for their needs.- Automatic Gearboxes - Are they good? Are there any problems? Advice needed.
The Oil change and software Recall Action does not apply here, that is '34F7' and 2009-2012, Summer break.. This is a 2013 so, '34H5' started on 2017 on some from 2013-2015, a software update as a preventative against the heat / pressure issue that caused, cracks, leaks, accumulator failures.- the truth about electric cars
That range shown for the e-3008 with the smaller 73 kWh battery or the 98 kWh are on them getting 4.4 miles to the kWh. So that is not going to be colder weather near freezing with the car loaded and heating on an no steaming up windows.- the truth about electric cars
For the same reason many here hated BMW divers.- the truth about electric cars
That Subscription set up had so many things going against it, but some money behind it from people with plenty of it. .............. If these can actually go 435 miles even if only in the most ideal conditions they might interest more towards Stellantis EV,s One door closes, another door opens. It is only money, other peoples mone.- How reliable is the 2.0TDi 150?
I was pretty much thinking on new cars and be sure to take the Extended Warranty years before the car is registered if ordering one.- There ain't no replacement for displacement' 😎
I just watched this vid last night. I had spotted the car before but had no idea it has a 2.0 TFSI with DSG.- Smell of petrol near back of car
Welcome. Sounds like a new cap required. The seal might be damaged, i don't think it is any vent pipe that the issue as it is sealed incase the car goes on its roof. Check the filler flap area, is it free of rust on the body and not had some repairs at a bodyshop. Pinned thread at top of this section on corrosion around there. - the truth about electric cars
