Help troubleshooting problem starting when really cold
In the upper part of Sweden it is Winter Diesel that is sold all year so that should not be an issue if that is what is in the tank. If you had the issue last year as well then when was the car serviced and did you not ask the mechanic? When was the Fuel Filter last changed or the Air Filter looked at/ checked or replaced? ........................................ The time you have to edit is limited if you are not a Freedom member. If you could not within an hour then maybe there was an issue. If you were only trying over an hour after posting having been told where the EDIT was then no problem.

Body work details
@zetzetIt is over 40 years since i served my time as a spray painter and panel beater & an assessor ultimately.. I no longer panel beat but occasionally i paint cars. Really it is no big deal these days. The paintless repair guys and girls are marvellous and the metal is crap. Professional paint people really are skilled now compared to what i ever did.

That is a concern in a few years with Mk4 Octavia, or if not going through your insurance. For now that is why you have insurance and to keep the Corrosion Warranty have proper repairs carried out.

The Skilled or unskilled Body repair person or fitter will do it or just replace the panel / door.

Driving techniques for DSG gearbox.
I was actually talking about DQ200 DSG and hand brakes / parking brakes like with Mk3 Fabia, Scala & Kamiq. I quite like them.

Driving techniques for DSG gearbox.
The 9 year old thread has been linked lots over the years. Relevant but a bit out of date for DQ200 DSG Vehicles with Autohold and e-Brakes these days and then with 1.5 TSI's with ACT. There are new Skoda cars that still do have hand brakes though and no Autohold.

Driving techniques for DSG gearbox.
There were at least 2 members on here did driving instruction with cars with DQ200 DSGs. They both used Mk2 Fabia vRS and one went on to use a Polo GTI 1.8 TSI DSG. Not sure if he then used his Polo 2.0TSI GTI / DSG.

Blue rinse ladies and learner drivers are all around the place driving DSG's quite well.

The correct tyres for electric vehicles (EVs)
^^^ Great stuff. Then people need to remember that if taking out a new EV or a Demonstrator / Hire / Loan car the tyres might even be over inflated. This is far to common from Dealerships and others as some think giving the car more range than actually being safe with good traction is Simply Clever. So check. Then remember the EV's are delivered / sold in the UK with EV ECO Tyres, Summer Tyres, total ditch finders in many cases in Winter or wet weather conditions. There are some real horror shows like Michelin Primacy 4 on cars from Stellantis, KIA-Hyundai and other manufacturers. Tyres like these on a VW ID.4 PRO i was looking at yesterday on a cold and frosty morning. Real Ditchfinders IMO>

Driving techniques for DSG gearbox.
The Hand brake will not be an issue with a Karoq as it has an e-brake (self applying as and when or finger operated) & Autohold. Left foot brake with a DSG is cutting power / drive which is why only use one foot and not accelerator and brake pedal.

^^^ Before that stage you need to ask the Salesperson doing the hand over what the tyre pressures are and ask them to go get a tyre pressure gauge. Be sure they are safe and not still at the In Transit setting, not having had the pressure reduced at the TPI. Then as with all new cars or newly fitted tyres remember they are 'Green' and need running in and getting the newness off them.

Insurer requests to see my v5, thoughts?
So they are checking. No big deal. Then they might want to see your licence. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/498068-insurers-demand-license-image-for-all-named-drivers-what-is-this-new-bull

Charging ever bigger batteries
The big decision is can you be bothered with the faf, the constant messing about and having to allow so much extra time for trips because of the unknowns over and above traffic / weather etc. It can be a total PITA if on your own and with others in the vehicle just horrible really unless everybody is really really chilled and pleased the trip is saving money over being in an ICE vehicle. If it is saving money with so many stops and maybe muchie buying. A Briskoda members video / experience. Charging at Ionity is great if all is working with a good charge speed and you have a nice tariff available to you.

The battery as the new frontier
This is really too common with EV's and Plug In Hybrids and across manufacturers. The Industry is going to have to address this so that people can leave EV's parked for more than just a couple of days. They are too much bothering about gimmicks rather than pure usability.

Charging ever bigger batteries
It is simple really and some people should not yet get an EV and especially if they might need to do towing over longer distances. There are not enough charge points suitable for taking in a longer vehicle with something long being towed.

Charging ever bigger batteries
The Majority might not have to care but those Commercial Travellers / Business Users that are getting the 'big leg up financially' to use EV's and even if they are big heavy ones do need the Quick Charging Infrastructure. The UK is quite a long place South to North / North to South. Examples of drivers going to and from the Central Belt of Scotland & South is one thing but the Central Belt of Scotland from Edinburgh across to Glasgow is not that far up Scotland from the border with England. There is more than 3/4's up Scotland of travelling distance just on the mainland. Leisure / Pleasure / Holidaying travels in EV's need charging on routes and will be paying with their own hard earned and taxed incomes at places where Business users will be paying the same charge to charge but not personally. Scotland with lots of renewables and electricity generated that should be getting used needs 100 plus kWh chargers North of Perth and not just TESLA Superchargers. That is not only on the A9 / A90 or trunk routes. Those are also needed though. It is reduction in private car use that the Government want but they are really not helping to reduce city congestion by encouraging business users into low or nil emission vehicles that are big with big batteries if they are not doing long distance journeys but only short ones, local use, home to office and back or scooting about during work hours in urban or suburban areas. EV's and Hybrids.

VW ID.4 SUV EV
- Charging ever bigger batteries
That is where the 28kWh battery Hyundai Ioniq is winning really. After the posts on here including from me i have been asking people with them how they like and they have them as keepers. One lady got rid of her almost new BMW i3 to buy an older Ionity and she was loving it. Her husband had a Audi e-Tronic but would borrow her car for local stuff. Nothing is a lovely cost for energy if you can get that. - Charging ever bigger batteries
