  1. @SurreyJohn @BoxerBoyhappens to be driving in Scotland and where they sometimes in some regions have the gritters / salters out quite a lot November to April.
  2. Best read your warranty T&C's. How many miles has the car done? If the diesel car is not faulty but reggening lots then a warranty is not going to cover that. Skoda Fixed Price Servicing and Maintenance @ participating dealers is only £60 for the first 30 minutes and they only need 30 minutes. 36172_SKODA_Approved_Used_Warranty_Dec20_SINGLES.pdf
  3. As far as the TPMS is concerned you just reset that with the tyres on and the pressures set. The ABS will be perfectly fine. I usually have the slightly bigger tyres on the front of FWD cars.
  4. Even Local Motor Factors with paint mix systems can mix paint in a small quantity like 100ml. Dead handy being local if they happen to get the mix a bit off.
  5. Welcome to the forum. Really there are no issues to worry about with a DQ250 DSG. Just be sure to have the box serviced every 40,000 miles or sooner.
  6. So best check what you are calling cylinder 1. Was removing the pipework too much trouble.
  7. Since the AA person removed the coils did they bother to take out the spark plugs and check. All 4 not just 3. Same with the mechanic. Your waterpump / magnetic supercharger clutch might soon be due a replacement if not already done.
  8. @xmanNice that you are interested (or a little creepy) but thinking is not knowing. I do have a Skoda now, and enough parts and another bodyshell to put another together. You can only have so many cars on a road at any one time, or i can. I ran a Volvo S60 for 2 years which a swapped my 8 year old Picanto for, and a Jimny for 16 years as dailys before getting an Alhambra along with Skodas.. Motability Lease's are for only 3 years, and i am on my 12th Motability car. 2 of which i bought and kept for another 6 years & 10 years.
  9. @BoxerBoy Does it happen to show on the invoice what oil was used & the quantity, or does it just say 'Serviced according to manufacturers specifications'?
  10. @lol-lol I am happy that there are coaches that nip along quite quickly and some HGV's from Ireland that are good for me drafting behind at a safe distance and at around the National Speed limit for a car. That eeks out the range of an EV otherwise i would have to go about 10 MPH slower or be stopping to charge the car earlier.
  11. @kodiaqsportline I do own a Skoda, a Fabia Mk2 vRS.
  12. What a good name for someone driving very fast. Radim Passer. At least he has good memories and all caught on film.... Which is handy for the authorities. http://bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-60301705 Not sure how big a fine would need to be to trouble him.
  13. @xspartx What is it that you would be topping up with that?
  14. An Electric Smart. 2019 2017
  15. @BoxerBoy What did the £120 get the car, is it an Oil & Filter Service & health check @ 22 Months but no Pollen Filter changed? So not done now and will wait until the next service. https://henrys-cars.com/skoda/servicing/fixed-price-service
  16. @Saptarshi Just checking, can you confirm that your car is a left hand drive one so pulling left so to the other side of the road. Towards on coming traffic? If you take it to a flat car park and drive straight does it still pull left?
  17. Haldex servicing is @ 3 years / 30,000 miles or sooner maybe because of type of use / environment.
  18. @Redboy How did things go with the oil use, and is it VW507 00 0w 30 FS III oil that is the correct one for your engine, fixed or variable servicing?
  19. With the 1.4 TSI iV's they are Fixed Service Oil changes. There are some members that have had those serviced and they might know which oil the Dealerships used. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/496086-struggling-to-find-the-oil-spec-for-a-superb-iv http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/497517-engine-oil-octavia-iv-phev There will be members that have 2019 on 272/280 Superbs that will have had Main Dealers servicing in Europe that might know what oil was used. @xmanYou might well be right which is a good thing if that helps those that are not sure about what they need. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/481325-272-oil-use
  20. It will be interesting to know if that might be for non EU WLTP Certificated cars like in Australia.
  21. Off topic to your issue, but have you had the Haldex serviced?
  22. @xman Which cars are these that have higher power 2.0TSI's & GPF's in the EU and can not use VW 508 00? Are those pre WLPT certificated 2.0 TSI's. EDIT. PS Your quote from me has a typo, i meant WLTP certificated TSI & TDI's. & not TSI & TSI's.
  23. @kodiaqsportlineGood and so they should. If i had a leased from Motability TSI / TDI built since 2018 and it was in for Servicing it would get the Recommended oil which is VW 508 00 / 509 00 If i had one i owned and a keeper i would not be running Long Life Oil, not Castrol / Quantum be getting oil changes other than fixed oil service regimes. You read the threads on this forum, you will see if you bother reading the threads after the WLTP certificated TSI and TSI's arrived with the VW 508 00 / 509 00 oil had Dealerships sell them VW 504 00 / 507 00 to top up and even used that at Services and then some were Serviced with VW 504 00 / 507 00 0w 30 FS III. As it is the VW 508 00 / 509 is Long Life Oil and the TDI's require Long Life oil. For fixed servicing on TSI's even after VW Group went to VW 508 00 - 509 00 0w 20 FS IV you can still do Fixed Servicing and use VW502 00. https://skoda-auto.com/other/oils-standards https://skoda-auto.com/services/genuine-engine-oils-oils?detailLayerSlide=2 This is VW 504 00 / 507 00 but has been used at some Main Dealers in cars since 2018. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/497887-correct-oil-type http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/472895-oil-confusion http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/448562-oil-viscosity-change http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/479564-oil-help http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/481795-what-oil-for-15-tsi http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/484266-oil-grade-petrol http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/456572-oil-spec-for-octavia-iii-15act-petrol-engines http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/470865-oil-consumption-13tsi-dsg
  24. ^^^ were you a Freedom member in the past so still getting the benefits?
  25. Autohold can stay switched on and it only acts if you press the brake pedal hard enough. You can do your parking / manoeuvring with a light touch on the brake and no autohold. The. There is still Hill hold assist holding the car for a couple of seconds. As there is with a DSG and Hand brakes and not e-brake or Autohold.
