What happens if you charge a car with a '7kw on board charger', from a domestic 13 amp supply?
@wyx087 I am not even getting 2.3 miles a kWh at present and that is without an engine under the bonnet. Again 31kWh of electric used in 7 days to do 31 miles only. (i could go on a 30 mile run and use only 10 kWh worth.) Here he gives totally different figures on a 7 kW charger for the 3008 plug in hybrid.

The 1.6 TDI got SCR so Adblue and was available in models like the Kamiq / Scala & i think the Karoq then discontinued.

So an empty to full charge would be 6 hours on a 3 pin and regardless of a 3.6 kw or 7 kW charger used it is 4 hours. They can go on a 22 kW charger for a 2 hour charge. https://pod-point.com/guides/vehicles/peugeot/2020/3008-suv If your home tariff is 20 pence a kWh and you are taking in 13 kWh then that is £2.60 a charge to take you maybe 30 miles on the electric.

Battery 100% charge, garage servicing, battery 25%
Best dip it cold tomorrow so that you do know there is enough oil, and check that again at operating temp. No point thinking it has used oil if a Low Oil Warning light or message comes on if you do not know if there was enough in to start with. Then you do not want it overfilled as is also common. PS The Oils are all 'Synthetic' for modern VW Group engines. The only difference is if Skoda / VW are recommending VW 508 00 so 0w 20 FS IV for your 1.4 TSI / Hybrids which are getting fixed servicing or if VW504 00 is still acceptable for them. This is the Specs of oil which is as important as using a 'Skoda filter' as per your OP.

@exaudi Just out of interest but how many miles did your car do from dropping off to collect, so while they did a road test? Does it shows as having had a road test. (Obviously they should be running the engine as well as EV mode on a road test, and getting the engine / oil up to temperature.) What quantity of oil does it show as required and does it show they used 0w 20 FS IV or did they go with 0w 30 FS III ? Did you dip the oil cold when collecting the car and then once home with the oil at normal operating temp, and again since cold?

Enyaq vs Tesla Model Y
Instavolt are very good but the cost to charge is rising to 50 pence a kWh and this is on 50 kWh chargers. https://instavolt.co.uk/instavolt-pricing-statement So if getting 4 miles to the kWh that is £5 for 40 miles travel. (10 kWh) 50 kWh = £25 for 200 miles travel. If only getting 3.1 miles per kWh then 31 miles for £5. winter and loaded and 2.7 miles per kWh then that is simple 27 miles for £5 worth of a charge. Enyaq examples from a recent vids 'testing' with odd things like passengers and a car steamed up to the point of stupidity.

EV real world range and cost to charge
I now have credit sitting on accounts with 3 charging providers just incase the contactless does not work and i need to use an app or call to get a charger started. PITA though where there is no mobile reception which is odd where there are chargers, but then mobile reception can get turned down in areas when there are accidents / incidents in the area.

Help
Welcome, All Fabia Mk2 vRS have a 7 speed Twin Dry Clutch DSG. 2010-2014/15. You get a hatch or estate. Turbo charged and supercharged. 2010-12 the engine is known as the CAVE and 2012-2014 it was the CTHE that was fitted. 1,800 CAVE engine cars and 1,100 CTHE's. About 700 of these are estates. Best look in the Fabia Mk2 Section and you will get to see plenty posts on vRS's There are lots of things you need to be aware of before buying. There are good cars out there, you just need to find them and know what the issues can be and why some are very cheep. Not everything said in vids is actually correct. Tuning, remapping / tuning boxes were easy on the CAVE even when they locked the ECU and lots here did it before 2012, and the CTHE were not getting remapped right away as APR / REVO could not do them. There is a member here that had an APR dealer try and messed up. They are absolutely designed so that the Super Charger is up to 3,500 rpm, but the Turbo and Super Charger can work together from 2,400 rpm to 3,500. So when you are booting one this is often where the ooomph is. Also where issues occur if there is one bad spark plug which there often was hence wrecked engines. The issues were not all sorted in 2012 they were still there for some just less common. There are early cars still going just fine and early DSG's. But they are getting on now as are CTHE's. SKODA UK might not even tell you the engione has been replaced or the replacement engine replced, SKODA UK were never open on anything and never admitted any issues. He failed to manage to get it mapped by APR. It does not get much quicker with the Super Charger cover removed. He has vids before this where the car run badly on the TMC tuning box, and one where he was selling his G?F's car, this car. Skoda never fixed them. VW had new components used in the CTHE and different engine management.

Enyaq vs Tesla Model Y
Tesla Charging is 33 pence a kWh and Superchargers are great depending on which of the 4 countries of the UK you might be driving about in and which areas or routes you drive. They are not much use if you need to be going out of your way to get to ones. Many with a Tesla opt not to use them if they have cheaper options. However doing 30,000 miles a year and even if charging at home or work before setting off on 300-500 mile trips you will be needing to get proper quick charging someplace and that is going to be at anything from 33-50 plus pence a kWh unless you have a good Subscription or Discounts that different manufacturers have with EV Charging providers. Even the full cost at an Ionity of 69 pence a kWh might be cheap enough for those just wanting charged and to get a move on.

What happens if you charge a car with a '7kw on board charger', from a domestic 13 amp supply?
It is only getting 7 kWh if you put it on a 7kWh charger. Put a car with a 7kWh onboard charger on a 3 kWh source it can only get 3 kWh. Put one with an 11 kWh onboard charger on a 7kWh charger and it will only get 7 kWh charge speed, or less.

The onboard 7 kW charger is not requesting 7 kW it gets what it is given.

EV battery fires
Very sad if there are more and more deaths by fire in Tesla or other EV's in accidents. There will be figures someplace for how many Tesla's there have been on fire in the UK & the RoW and how many fatalities where fires were ignited in those accidents. There does not appear to be that many Tesla fires showing in the USA up to 2020 but maybe there are growing numbers & people incinerated. https://insideevs.com/news/501729/number-tesla-fires-2020 e-scooter / e-bikes charging in homes are going to cause fires even more in homes than they are now. Deaths possibly. Very hard to know where the truth lies or where there are Social Media and Media scare stories.

What happens if you charge a car with a '7kw on board charger', from a domestic 13 amp supply?
So when you plug into a 7 kWh charger with the Type 2 AC the onboard charger will be charging @6.6 kWh or what ever. As i do with a Hybrid or EV with a 7 kWh onboard. Charging with the 3 pin is not going to give more than it can. but, you can do a bit better with the right one.

Tesla Model Y SUV, will be launched on 14th March 2019
Eventually , just a question of waiting. Someplace along the line since the legislation introduced on new model EV's that they had to give pedestrians a bit of an audible warning that they were moving at low speeds it seems to have gone all to pot. (up to 12.4 mph from 1st July 2019 was what the publicity said it was) The Vauxhall Corsa -e is supposedly loudest at 12 mph but works up to 25 mph. Well not on mine. Just runs along on Silent mode. A toot toot would have been sensible from the driver of the red car, or Tesla building into the car the fact some pillock with their back to the road is in front of you and the car is very quiet so make a bit of a noise. to warn people you are close. Surely they had a PDI when getting Reg Plates and other bits fitted and the Factory for 'Transit Tyre' pressures adjusted after coming off a transporter before setting off on the public highway.

Enyaq vRS available in Configurator
@Dodgy Buying them and owning them and using cash or finance compared to just Renting them for 3 years and as a vehicle for using as your 'business transport' are very different things. The HMRC see it as very different as do the people driving them. The cost per year is very different as well & different from an ICE vehicle as your business use transport.

Thinking of buying Skoda Superb Elegance 2011 1.8 TSI 4x4 73k miles
Welcome. With an 11 year old car you might fingers crossed hope the issue with the engine happened long ago and was addressed and sorted, otherwise the high oil use is current and maube why the last keeper got rid of it. ? So is there a service and maintenance history and repair bills for work already done on the car, at least in the last 3 years? If it is using excessive oil right from collecting the car then surely you would reject it right away. ? When does the Haldex show as last serviced and has that been done 3 times during the car life or even more times than that?

Front differential to gearbox - oil leak :(
Best Contact Skoda UK and ask if Kate Laws is still the senior Resolutions Manager and this guys boss. Skoda / VW UK Customer Services needs to deal with any internal issues they have with employees not fit for purpose in their senior teams if the contact is part of them.

I am the 1 in 5....
The Car Dealer should put that in writing and their name, address and source of that information on 1.6 TDI's because it is fiction. There is the issue that could have had an affect on the Euro 5 ones that VW applied the fix to. . The figure of 20% is a figure that might well apply to 1.4 TSI 132-136 kw Euro 5 CAVE Twinchargers from 2009-2012. Including replacement engines that also failed. 2012-2014 they changed them to CTHE which had a lower failure rate.

Service Schedule for 2014 DSG 4x4
The DSG Oil change is every 40,000 miles or sooner and not @ each 4 years unless that is by chance coming in at 40,000, 80,000, 120,000 etc. No matter what this shows.
