  1. @Berty21 Welcome. That is a pretty high mileage well done on that. 30 odd oil changes is a lot. The cost of the correct oil makes no difference really, so if a Supermarket branded one or big Named Brand like Castrol which more expensive to buy.
  2. The Free to charge at CPS chargers are not being paid for by those using them other than by their taxes. The Free to use at Supermarkets are being paid for by Supermarket customers and the person charging their EV might not be one of those. I no longer charge using my local council chargers and will not unless in an emergency i needed a full battery to set off someplace and there was not a reliable properly quick charger on the way. I might go to InstaVolt less than 1/2 a mile away and Pay more because i will get a proper speed of charge there. If i have to get anyplace over about 60 miles quickly because of family emergencies and i have an ICE vehicle available then no way would i take an EV in winter.
  3. No idea about the low fuel tank other than this below, water in tank. I never had one low for long and never had a tank less than full when parked up over winter for even a few days. The E5 is less Hygroscopic than E10 and the Winter Petrol from November to March is less Hygroscopic than the Summer formula. https://mechanicbase.com/cars/water-in-gas-tank-symptoms/ ***Any H20 is in the bottom of the tank and not floating on top.*** ...................... OT. If the one spark plug gets oiled and soot and then the tip starts to burn off it does not matter how long ago or many miles fitted. That has caused the death of many a twinchargers. Which plugs are in the car now? You are going to have to possibly drain the tank.
  4. I would leave the ECU with remap well alone other than checking the multiplug is well seated. Inspect or Service the consumables and give the car a bit of a blast new and again. Now it is running fine get the oil hot and then give it a good run and when cooled check how the 4 plugs look. ? Has the Fuel Filter been changed in the time you have had the car?
  5. @xman I doubt your tax payments in your lifetime pay enough to cover what you get from taxation where you are let alone any of it getting to Scotland. You have a few years left to get NHS treatment and care, policing and defence and all the rest.
  6. @xman Are you now a resident in Scotland paying the Scottish Tax Codes or Council Tax or the electric electric tariffs, sugar tax, minimum pricing on alcohol etc ? If so then you maybe are paying towards Scotland's drive to lower emissions. People who never venture out of Scotland or travel by train might feel they are paying for HS2 and Nuclear Power Stations to be built. @wyx087Many of the 32 Local Authorities have new EV Charging hubs in the planning and under construction on Publicly owned / common good land and these are with the latest chargers and not just 7/22 or 43/50 kW chargers. Some nice ones about now. They are part of the Charge Place Scotland Network and paid for by Council Tax Payers.
  7. The UK buying public might be interested in which EV in the UK is best on 60 mph speed limit roads at cornering with 4 adults and luggage in the boot while being able to stay on it's own side of the road. Right hand drive ones that you need to use a left hand on. Medium sized surely like a Golf / Leon so how does that then become a Small EV? Fiat 500 / VW e-Up! are Small EV's.
  8. Super unleaded E5 97 or 99 Ron minimum in the UK. Not called Premium and the Retailer is not important. 95 Ron E10 unleaded. Again the retailer of it will not matter really in the UK.
  9. @Kobayashi the 99 Ron min superunleaded should be making no difference really even though it can and has done in the past. The detergents are the difference. I only used Momentum 99. Some that Greenergy and Royal Dutch shell bring in can be better than 100 Ron in some areas. ? So when was the fuel filter replaced? What remap and mods does your car have now? If you think a certain petrol is better and no issues with it then just use it. Shell and Greenergy are partners bringing in the base fuel. No idea what area you are in but ESSO 99 super unleaded is distributed in most of the UK by Greenergy and where not might have no Ethanol not even 5%. But then your remapped car should love the stuff. Best look at those plugs and see if 1 is getting sooted up. The one that commonly does if pottering about and the car running rich.
  10. Major Legal Changes are needed for Driverless cars. So where there is a claim there will be blame and Manufacturers & the owner of the vehicles & even the occupants of the vehicles might well be held responsible but then Politicians and even the Law Commission Members should also be taking responsibility if there are deaths or life changing injuries to those going about their life and innocent of others failings. The Manufacturers of Vehicles with Drivers but forms of assistance where the car does the driving or there are remote drivers have a long way to go sorting fundamental failings. http://bbc.co.uk/news/technology-60126014
  11. @Routemaster VW Group had Turbo issues with SEAT, Audi & VW's in 2015 and had to revise them. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/340575-turbo-failure-golf-r-s3-leon-280 Audi had Excessive oil Consumption on RS3's and this was known by plenty (especially enthusiasts or techs with an interest in cars) but ignored by AUDI UK, There were Press / MEDIA / Vloggers turning up at nice venues and driving off after a lovely paid for breakfast cold cars and thrashing them. Audi had to actually start having the cars sitting warmed up ready for them and after that Deal with the Fundamental Design, Manufacturing or Material faults. Vorsprung Durch Technik. Deny deny and deny until you can deny no more. VW Group had Euro 5 1.2, 1.4, 1.8 & 2.0 TSI with premature demise TSI's and still had Variable Service Regimes from the factory and long life oil as the recommended oil for Fixed or Variable Servicing regimes and still do. Not that they will ever admit there were failures that had anything to do with them. A rogue engineer designed things and ran away. FORD. https://www.cashcarsbuyer.com/ford-ecoboost-turbo-problems ? What manufacturer is it that you are on a forum and posting about? 2015
  12. Suzuki Jimny Yomper. https://www.fwi.co.uk/machinery/4x4s/yomper-4x4-offers-long-wheelbase-suzuki-jimny-pickup
  13. @Dappernut enjoy. What tyre pressures did your car arrive with?
  14. Long distance cruising has nothing to do with it really. Short cold start journeys might well have. Someone that is doing over 20 mile journeys might well be perfectly happy with Variable / Flexible servicing and the car might be theirs and a keeper. They might do that 20 mile trip once a week, month, day or 5 times a day each day.
  15. @Michael888 Welcome. Which engine did you get was it the 2.0 TDI and 6 speed DSG? Fixed Service & Maintenance prices on 3-10 year old cars on Fixed Service Regimes done at Participating Dealers might have changed or be changing in 2022. There can be cheaper prices at Dealerships or maybe better still at VW Specialist Independents.
  16. Truth of the matter is that any sporty driving done in a Skoda Octavia / Warm Hatch is on 60 mph NSL UK roads. So maybe in Devon or maybe where ever the car gets taken. All Seasons come in all flavours will not fall apart or be ditch finders even in the best of a South of England summer. Horses for courses and tyres appropriate to the usage.
  17. @Stiggy Welcome. Which engine does your car have which will let people know which DSG your car has? How many miles has it done?
  18. The Warranty requires you to take the vehicle to an Authorised Repairer. Not necessarily to where you purchased a New Vehicle. The Warranty provider can authorise the work under warranty or allow the Authorised repairer to decide if it is Warranty work or the vehicles owner will be paying for work. Forget about Importers and read and understand the warranty terms. SKODA_Warranty_Terms_November_2021 (1).pdf Best to Read and Understand the Warranty and that includes 'Exclusions'. Also your legal rights in the UK.
  19. @JR RS If what you say the point of DRLS (Daytime / Daylight Running Lights) is then the rear Position / Sidelights would come on. The Point of DRLs to the front was they could be seen in bright sunlight and show other road users or pedestrians / cyclists there is a moving vehicle. Oddly they are still on if stopped if the ignition is on. Bl00dy annoying in poor light situations where there should be Dipped Headlights on and where the lights set on Auto might not well put the lights on to be seen. There are European Countries that require the DRL's to be on front and rear, as there are where 2 rear Fog lights are required. That is not the UK though.
  20. Or even a more inflated tyre so more circumference as brakes are binding or a bearing going and a wheel overheats and the air in the tyre does. Something that some forget or do not know when they get a warning and dont check the pressures at the time and feel the heat but wait until the tytes are cooled and the pressures look fine as they post on here when saying they get false warnings.
  21. It was and is. So have they deleted any features that there was as they do with various models / trims? Someone with the same build date car as you will be along that will know hopefully.
  22. Could it be that the manual covers things that your car does not have and you just have the basic TPMS? There will be other stuff in the Owners Manual that does not apply to your particular car.
  23. @SkOmk42021's Emissions is so last year. This is a bright new world for the VW Group who now have more partner manufacturer that can assist in the kidology of emissions. The VW Group can get some of the higher polluters First Registered again in the EU & in the UK. VW UK, SEAT, Audi, Skoda UK will know exactly what the total emissions of are all the vehicles they bring into the UK in 2021, they knew just what was being First Registered just as the SMMT & the DfT / HMRC does. just as VW Group does in Ireland and the rest of the EU. They can have millions of Euro in fines if the got it wrong in 2021 like they did in 2020. https://www.electrive.com/2021/01/15/volkswagen-adds-ev-makers-to-co2-pool-with-saic https://thedriven.io/2021/12/14/nio-and-xpeng-join-carbon-pool-to-help-vw-meet-eu-emissions-target
  24. It really will not increase the airflow and when choked / dirty it will reduce the flow. So use if you want but do not bother cleaning it to get value for the money wasted buying a K&N for anything other than using in Wet or Dusty conditions.
  25. Is it the Dealership Service Manager not getting back to you? Best that you speak only with the Dealer Principal and get them to have a Area Warranty Manager involved and a Skoda UK Communication / Resolution Manager. The Dealership is not the Warranty Underwriter or provider.
