The vrs needs a recirc valve hence your engine light.
The golfs, some use a different and slighty older version of the engine which doesnt require a recirc. Certianly the case on my friends 98 A3.
You need to put a recirc valve back on asap really

You may find this hard to get rid of since the vRS Fabia isn't rated for towing.
I realise that you can also use these for a bike rack but that's the only
real use anybody with a vRS could have for it.
Daft really when the car has so much grunt, yet you can tow with the
SDI which has 65bhp.
Suspension setup maybe?

As mentioned already, costco if your a member or know someone who is.
They do a huge kit, maybe 100 pieces or more for about £75 i think and its good stuff. I bought the smaller kit for about £35 brilliant. That was 4/5years ago apart from losing a few bits along the way its still excellent

Highways Agency attended so hopefully insurance will be settled OK.
Youll be lucky. Your insurance will have to contact his insurance company UK claims handler which takes a while. Then you have the language barrier to contend with thats assuming you have his insurance details.. If not your insurance has to find them.
Its a longgggggg drawn out process which really needs to be looked into by the powers that be.
Even though the highways and police attended with me as my car was immobilsed(flat tyre and a wing and bumper wrapped around my wheel) on a very busy motorway junction right outside a VOSA testing facility.. The problem was no witnesses. Although luckily the driver admitted fault i was still out of pocket for 10months

Got took out by a lorry myself in 2009, polish driver, slovak lorry.
He was in the wrong lane at the motorway junction and he came straight across me and bam. I slammed on and stopped but he continued driving and ripped my passenger wing clean off, ripped the front bumper, smashed my lights and damaged my bonnet plus damaged my alloy My insurance put my car right but it took 10 months to get my excess back from the other party and clear my name.

When tryna flog a ford KA my mum bought as a gift for my older sister(sister didnt want it) i tried autotrader, constant time wasters, ebay, plenty of bids, winner never contacted us.
