Thick fog descended this evening, but strangely cleared within the hour. Made for a pretty atmospheric walk!

A few from Attenborough nature reserve (yesterday). Was intrigued by the variation in sizes of the Robins - old/young, male/female, fat/thin?

Smart Motorway
As ever we ignored the original research and decided to implement some half-arsed botch instead. Seems it's not a Government minister to blame on this occasion. https://www.theconstructionindex.co.uk/news/view/transport-minister-hoodwinked-over-smart-motorway-roll-out

Smart Motorway
Just had a close shave on the supposed 'Smart Motorway' that is the M1. Stationery vehicle in the inside lane, obscured by a HGV in front of me, which the lorry missed by a few feet! Unbelievably the driver of the stationery vehicle was poking around under the bonnet π€·ββοΈ Bring back the hard shoulder!!

Progress!
My thoughts exactlyπ I did genuinely consider an eUp! / EV Citigo, but made no sense at the prices they were asking, especially when I paid Β£7500 for a pre-reg (0 miles) SEAT Mii design - 5 door, metallic, Beats audio, AC, Bluetooth etc.

Progress!
Certainly a lovely bit of nostalgia, but I'd have to think my SEAT Mii would probably manage 65-70 MPG over that kind of route (best tank average is 74 mpg). The SEAT weighs 21% more than the Austin and I imagine survivability in a RTA (in the SEAT) is hugely better than in the Austin. Progress! YouTube

Replacing Yeti
Several years and 57k miles later and it's time to move on! The SX4 averaged 40 mpg in mixed driving and the only mechanical failure was a leaking seal on the 4WD system (out of warranty unfortunately, but relatively inexpensive to fix at the main dealer). Not a car I'll remember with particular fondness, but dependable family transport. I decided on a 2WD Karoq 1.5 as it's replacement and can only hope it is as reliable as the Suzukiπ€

Today was our annual pilgrimage to to RAF Donna Nook - reassured to see the seal numbers look very healthy (and comparable with last yearπ)
