  1. You are not automatically covered with a debit card as they are not covered by the consumer credit act. There is a voluntary scheme in place for debit payments but it is not binding in law. With a credit card you are effectively borrowing the money from the credit card company. Hence it's covered by the act. When you use a debit card you are using your own money. The risk is yours. Good luck getting your money back, had a similar situation myself but lost the whole lot. Nothing left from the administrator after the government took first dibs.
  2. Not sure where you got £380 from but skoda parts. Com are showing them for £165 plus vat. We used to drive on the left, now we drive on what's left.
  3. That's near to what I get. I normally return around 37/38. When new (24,000 miles ago) I got mid thirties on standard unleaded. After a couple of months I changed to super unleaded and have found the car more responsive. I bit more umph when I want it and also pottering around town I need to use less pedal to get going. At the end of the day if you want economy buy diesel, if performance is what you are after then it's petrol.
  4. Welcome. Hope you enjoy your Superb as much as I enjoy mine.
  5. Friend of mine had one. Lovely sounding little 3 cylinder 2 stroke. Will sort a piccy out late tonight when I get home from work.
  6. I agree, it's one of the reasons I don't leave my drive until the dashcam is recording
  7. I bought the Mio Mivue 538 deluxe which seems to tick your requirements. As it has GPS it also has built in safety camera database with a free lifetime updates. You can download the user manual from Mio's site which will show all the functionalities.
  8. DKW 1000SP or more commonly known as Auto Union
  9. I started using Nikon in the mid sixties. It was a toss up between Nikon and Canon. For me I am glad I went the route I did. It's personal, it's just down to what feels right. For the length of time I have been using Nikon it has worked to my advantage, Nikon have always stayed true to the "f" mount lens so even my oldest prime lenses still fit the latest bodies, with some minor limitations. If I had gone down the Canon route I would have started with the Canon FD mount lenses which would now be no good on their current EF bodies - so it worked in my favour. I do have a Canon G12 compact which I think is better than any of the Nikon offerings.
  10. Thanks I thought it was quite low due to the age of the body. At the time of purchase a 2gb card cost nearly two hundred quid!! Yes !! Although I have newer bodies I still cannot part with the D2X. It just feels right and even now compared to the D4S it still gives excellent results and I can use it in all weather without worrying about wrecking a four grand body.
  11. Hi I recently dusted down my D2X and have brought it back into perfect service (I do like this camera) Got it new donkeys years ago and it has never had a firmware upgrade so is as Nikon intended it. My question is what is the maximum memory card it can take. The manual is not exactly clear. Many thanks
  12. Pressed reply before I was ready- doh! You could speak to the finance company to see if any prospective buyer would be allowed to take over the agreement but they would still need to be approved by the finance company
  13. If the finance is "attached" to the car instead of being separately funded by say a bank loan then you can't sell it as you don't own it, the finance company does. Dealers can get around this by putting the car "in trade" and clearing the finance before selling to a punter.
  14. Welcome. My wife has a 370Z auto 4th anniversary model, great motor. Nearly bought the xf sport brake myself but settled on the Superb and don't regret it.
  15. Can't advise on the vrs but welcome. Great introduction. Try a post in the relevant model section.
  16. A few facts We all drive (petrol or diesel) We all pollute We pollute less than 10 years ago Things are improving all the time. Naughty yes, but does it change anything? Will you ignore VAG products now? I doubt it, who can you trust?
  17. Just a thought as it's hot on the passenger side. Did you accidentally hit the "dual" button, if so it wouldn't matter how much you turned down the right control the left would stay at the higher temperature.
  18. Yes it is. There is plentiful of room on a 32gig card. If you are creating them from iTunes remember that the default file format doesn't work. Go to the top menu in iTunes and find "create a new version" and pick mp3. It will create copies and if you show the column " file type" I think it's called you can easily identify them. Create folders on the SD card, I name the folders with the artists name but this is your choice, then drag or copy and paste the songs you want. You still see all the info in Columbus e.g. artist, song title. Just remember to get Black SD cards then when they are in the slot you don't see them. I got a blue coloured card once and it really irritated me.
  19. To be honest I wouldn't bother. I had one fitted when I ordered the car for use with my ipod. Yes it is connected but I find that using SD cards is just as good and they don't take up any space in the centre colsole box.
  20. Try and get around the City of London as a pedestrian. The majority, and I mean the majority of cyclists do not stop at red traffic lights, either at a junction or a pedestrian crossing, they ride on the pavement, ride the wrong way up one way streets, fail to indicate……and of course it's always the motorists fault when one comes to grief. The other day there was a collection of police officers at London Bridge, a well known area where all common sense goes out of the window, they were trying to stop errant cyclists (to have a word). It was amazing how many swerved around the police standing in the road to get past, completely oblivious that they were being flagged down. ……and yes I do cycle for pleasure but only on Sustran routes.
