Traffic sign recognition
Good job I promised not to ask people to explain all their `hieroglyphics`...coz I'd be having a `field-day` otherwise! Merry Christmas.

Car Vacuum
In the past I have had both `Battery` and `12v`. They just don't `cut it`. My advice would be to get the best mains operated vac that you can afford. Personally I use a `Miele` which I'm very happy with. Regards Mike.

Superb estate used - Go for 2.0 TSI 220PS or wait it out for 1.5 TSI?
I have the 1.5 TSI DSG. Bought it new July '19 and apart from two false tyre pressure warnings, it has never missed a beat. I'm no mad racer so it has plenty of `poke` for me. From what you say I think you'd be happy with either engine.

ALLOY WHEEL CLEANER
Another vote here for Bilt Hamber Auto Wheel. Used it for years and always does a fab job. Get it and you won't be disappointed.

Skoda Superb used car buying advice
1) Hatch looks MUCH better than estate...buy in Black...but be prepared to spend lots of time and money keeping it clean! 2) Sportline looks ugly. L&K is expensive. I have the SEL and its FAB. 3) 1.5 TSI DSG is the way to go. As you can see from this and the above post...its all a matter of opinion. I wish you luck in your choosing.

Less interest Detailing nowadays?...
Hello and welcome to this part of the forum. To start with it might be good to let us know how you have taken care of your cars in the past and how far you want to go now. Its such a huge subject and one can get carried away. What equipment items (cloths, mitts, shampoos etc etc) do you have at present? Stand by...coz you may well be bitten by the `Detailing Bug`...I was!

Get yourself a BLO!!
Another slight `issue` with these more powerful machines is that while you are drying the bottom of the car you may inadvertently direct the air onto the ground...and if your standing isn't spotlessly clean (dust free) you are likely to create a blast of dust back onto where you have just dried!

Fallout Remover...Yeah or Nay?
I had my new car Ceramic Coated (Gtechniq) on delivery last July. I was told by the Detailer that I need not polish or wax the car so I have not. It still looks pristine, of course, but I was wondering whether or not it would be a good idea to give it a spritz with Fallout Remover prior to the next time I wash it. What do you think? TIA

Best (in place) battery charger?
I find this all very confusing... I thought all Stop/Start cars had to be charged using the AGM mode. So that's what I did the first time I charged my battery. Then I read (on here I think) that no it should be charged as an EFB. So that's what I did the second time I charged it. Now, as I say...confusion rules!!!

Changing cars
I don't own a Smartphone either, never have, but I've put all my music onto a memory stick and use that. Works a treat.

Get yourself a BLO!!
This is the one I use... https://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/metro-vac-sidekick-blaster No good for drying the whole car (too small) but ideal for the wheels, side mirrors etc. I didn't know what a `BLO` was but I know there is a bigger brother to the `Sidekick`. I've watched a number of vids on the use of the big one to dry a whole car but am not convinced its any quicker than using a good quality towel.

Car buying trends in the UK.
Had mine for just over a year now. Done just under 4000 miles and being as there are no motorways or even duel carriageways around here, most of those miles at `lower` speeds I've read about this `Kangerooing` business but never experienced it myself. I've found the engine to be fabulous...it pulls really well even in `ECO` mode. Once or twice I've even wondered if, at the factory, they've put in a bigger engine by mistake! I'm looking to `downsize` for my next car and if I could find one with this engine I'd go for it without a second thought. `Go figure`, as they say!
