  1. You did mate, on the left hand side. Trouble is, people who are using their phone wont always be able to see that.
  2. Thanks everyone. I never wash in sunlight (it was getting dark the last time I washed) and I use plenty of good quality drying towels (including a Woolly Mammoth) and a drying aid sometimes too. Maybe I should consider changing to a smaller car! Regards Mike.
  3. Can I ask...you say "used to" so what do you do now?
  4. Fortunately your lack of a `flying ####` does not diminish my joy.
  5. What a joy to see the correct spelling...(`You're` and `could've`)
  6. Do you wear a ring on your left thumb perhaps?
  7. Might get a better response by posting in the Superb2 section.
  8. I think you're right in that it is some sort of cleaning product that has been allowed to dry on...perhaps in the sun. You've tried scrubbing without success so I believe you need to dissolve the product somehow in order to remove it. Have you tried a good QD...like BSD? What about nipping along to `Wings` to see if they can suggest anything. I've always found them very helpful. Best of luck getting it sorted.
  9. A lovely succinct input. Well done `xman`
  10. According to Kim Adams in Auto Express (Issue 1,683 dated 23-29 June 2021) when rinsing your car after snow foaming you should, quote, `start from the bottom so you can see what you've covered - if you start from the top the foam will wash off`, unquote. Does that make sense to anyone?
  11. Yes I do...and so should everyone else. No I did not.
  12. Of course, dare I say it...you could always stay within the speed limit, removing the need for these fancy warning doodaz.
  13. Thank you, Langers. Yeah it is Columbus that I have. Just checked and pushing the `Smarklink` button brings up another screen with two options. `Scandisc` or `Mirrorlink`. No mention of Apple or Android. So I'm going to assume that `Mirrorlink` and Apple / Android` are one in the same. Thank you again.
  14. Hello, `Langers`, Thank you for your reply. Just been out to the car to check. Under the `Radio` button I have `DAB`, `Station List`, `Manual` (whatever that is!), `View` and `Settings` but no `App` button. There are loads of other buttons which mean little to me but I pressed them anyway. At one stage I did see mention `Mirrorlink` so maybe I do have it! Thanks again. Regards Mike.
  15. Hello, `Rustynuts`. You wont remember but you have helped me out in the past for which I thank you again now. Now, I've been told that the reason you don't know what car I'm referring to might be because you are using a smartphone and therefore you cannot see my details to the left. If that is the case I'm sorry. I have never had a smartphone so am unaware of their shortcomings. My car is a 19 Reg Superb 1.5 TSI DSG. Have a lovely day. Regards Mike.
  16. Hello. Now, I adore detailing my car...all except the drying part! My car is so big and I live in a very hard water area so water spotting is a constant concern. I have to rush around trying to dry it before the spots appear. I had the car professionally Ceramic Coated from new but, as you know, that is no guarantee of no water spots. I have tried using various spray-on when wet `drying aids` but that tends to make matters worse. I have in the past considered `Race glaze` water filters but have shied away due to their apparent complexity...how long do they last and when to change the contents etc. So, can I ask if any of you knowledgeable people have had or do have personal experience of these things and could give me some much needed info. Many thanks.
  17. Yeah definitely stone chips. A pressure washer would not cause that sort of damage.
  18. Thank you so much for the suggestion. I've trawled through the manual and through the car menus all to no avail. Hopefully a prospective buyer will be savvy enough to know one way or the other.
  19. Hello, I have never had a smartphone so never used the `Title tech`. I've had the car for nearly 2 years so I may be changing soon. A prospective buyer will probable want to know if it has it. So, does anyone know for sure if my car has it or alternatively is there something in/on the car that will tell me? Many thanks for any help.
  20. I think `eksa` is talking about `coasting` rather than `cylinder deactivation`. Mine does go into `2 cylinder` mode whilst in `D` but has to be in `Eco` mode in order to `coast`.
  21. This is my go-to. Give it a bash. https://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/chemical-guys-after-wash
  22. Wow, what a lovely response to my question. Thank you once again, `xman`. I've got it now. Best Regards Mike.
  23. Thank you so much for that, `xman`. Some of it I understood...most of it I did not. So, can I ask...my car is less than 2 years old, has less than 6000miles on the clock, has never failed to start, the Stop - Start` has always worked as far as I know...I have the CTEK 5 charger...can I leave it charging for 2 days non stop, as you indicate above, without doing the battery any harm and hopefully some good? Thank you.
  24. 48 hours...blimey, is there not a possibility of overcharging it in that case? (I have a CTEK MXS 5.0 but only have it connected until the lights tell me its charged...normally 4 or 5 hours.)
  25. I've been using one for years and never had a concern. Just keep the jet moving and if you feel a bit worried don't get ultra close and you'll be fine.
